I've been having spotty 4g service in my area and its killing my battery. I used to use an app called phone info to switch back and forth on my s3.
That app is gone from the play store and a few I've tried haven't worked.
Is there an app people have had success with??

So I just trued to download the tmobile wifi calling app
And duhhhhh. I forgot she's on att.
App opened but says there's a sim error.
What can she do?

The WiFi calling app routes all calls and messaging to T-Mobile's servers, so naturally it won't work on ATT. Uninstall the app, restart, and it should work. Without WiFi calling, I mean.

Lol I figured that much manee
Im asking how to make it work.
3rd party app or something.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
It won't work unless you use T-Mobile, simple as that. Unless ATT has some WiFi calling app I'm not aware of.

I am running evil fascination 3.51. Is there a way to use the internet while on a phone call?

I just tried wifi again, and it does work on wifi. I must not have had a good wifi signal when I tried it before. Still doesn't work with data only though.

You'd need a phone like the thunderbolt to talk and surf without wifi

Seriously? CDMA phones, like the Fascinate, are not equipped to do data and voice simultaneously. You'd have to get a 4G phone.
Until more CDMA phones get the proper hardware/software that allow you to use 2 radio connections simultaneously or until 4G covers everything and Verizon starts using voice over LTE, this feature will not be vastly available.

Alternatively, you could hope that more phones use SVDO modems for CDMA, but since SVDO has been around for a while, and only the Thunderbolt has it afaik, that is probably useless as well.
Is it possible to use WiFi to make a call on evo 4g lte? I was able to do this on my my touch 4g while I was using t mobile. Thanks in advance for anyone that can answer this

When did this change? Last year when I was on business travel, I always would use Google voice when I didn't have service in my hotel room.
I just tried it, and it did not work on WiFi

Just more bullsh from HTC. First complaint I've ever made about this device. I'm Ann htc fan thru and thru. But that was really handy when I didn't have service.

Well, thanks for the heads up because I'm heading out on another business trip on Monday. I guess I will be downloading this app.

Is there a way to modify the wifi and mobile network polling rates? My phone dies like a dog at work due to no reception.
Thanks

Wi-Fi scan is a tweak in build.prop. There is a app called .prop tweaker or editor I believe.
Idk about network though

Whenever I'm in a poor signal area I just turn off mobile data and wifi. That way you don't have to worry about your radio constantly searching for better signals when your not even using it.

Yea just turn off data and WiFi. I saved HUGE amounts of battery doing that in bad signal area

I just turn my phone off completely. Great battery life, and I never have to worry about it searching for signal. Bonus: with all the new kernels popping up, when my phone is turned off it sleeps like a sloth.
Try it out!
Appreciate the replies but i use offline apps all day so i can't power down.
Anyone else know?

I was looking at my data use on my phone. It says the thing that is using the most data is Tethering and it uses 1.07GB in background.
How do I turn that off? I.dont even use tethering. on my. phone. My phone is using a lot of data and I.dont have unlimited...

Are you checking the phones data usage app? If I'm not mistaken it shows both WiFi and mobile data together. Check your my Verizon app and see what it says.
