Cannot Copying large files to my Android - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Lately while using AOSP Roms (Android 4.2) i am having problems with copying large files ( generally more than 200 MB in size to my ext/int sdcard. however this problem doesn't happen when i go back to Stock android 4.1.2 .
EDIT: While copying large files to AOSP Roms the phone just restarts all of a sudden and copying is obviously halted.
I am not looking for any alternate method for copying files to my phone as i am using adb push/pull to copy files between my PC and my phone.
I thought this might be a problem with my PC OS but when i copying using both windows 7 and ubuntu 13.04 and found that the problem still exists i concluded the problem may be because of rom/kernel. Although i am not still sure of this.
Is anyone else having problem copying large files to their android .. if so has anyone found any practical solution for this bug/error ?
P.S. dont suggest any apps for copying files as it defeats the basic purpose of this post ! Also I always Google and i post a question here only if im not getting a satisfactory answer.

am i ignored because no one knows a solution or is it just me having this issue ?

And didnt mean it as a bump. I was just curious to know if anyone else was facing the same problem.
If only i am facing the problem then i can know it was me who did something wrong with flashing etc.

No, no, no. You've got it all wrong. While there is a Q&A section. We are NOT a support forum, although, people think it is and lately, that's what its been. This is a developers forum. Do you get an error while copying large files? Does it happen with specific file types? Does it happen when trying to copy to any location inside your phone or specific addresses?

Sorry about earlier. It wasn't meant to hurtful. Just informative. And I don't use AOSP Roms. But I don't think they mount the SD cards (int/ext) using the standard MTP protocol that stock uses. So I don't see why there'd be any problem. Is the cable the stock cable? What's the card formatted to?

Fix permissions in recovery mode. If that doesn't help, relfash the rom with full wipe

One thing i forgot to mention in OP. When i copy the large file the phone just restarts all of a sudden and this stops the copying. but when i use stock ROM its fine.
No this happens only while i copy to the phone not to any other location.. as i said in OP bot a problem of OS

the problem is not with the cable and yes its stock cable. and i didnt format the card neither external nor internal. problem arises only in aosp roms. and as i said in op there is no problem while adb pushing the large files.

I did try fix permissions and i always do fullwipe before installing/updating any ROM. Still no success.

You might have found a bug in either AOSP / CM ROMs and/or kernels.
Other things you might need to test in order to make that very, very clear:
- does it always happen on BOTH internal and external ?
- from what you say it seems to never happen on stock - have you tested with stock ROM + Siyah kernel? CM/AOSP ROM + Siyah kernel?
- just to completely eliminate the issue of bad eMMC and/or any MTP problems - can you try (from all types of ROM, and using an USB cable known to be perfect) with the external SD mounted using not normal MTP but instead UMS (there is an easyUMS app for that, it can be a little tricky sometimes since you might need to restart without any USB cable between modes)?

Yes it hasn't happened on Stock. I have tried using Googy max as well as Devil Kernel latest versions
i tried mounting as UMS still the problem exists

You mean the problem exists with Googy Max but not with stock? I would still try once more with Siyah 1.9.1 but that is really, really weird - since Siyah and Googy Max are very much Samsung sources recompiled (with two different compilers in the above case). The only other logical explanation that I can somehow think of would be that you somehow get different buffers in the kernel and then you hit some sort of timeout, but that sounds a little far-fetched.

Solved..
I tried UMS mounting on Windows 7 instead of Linux and problem was partially solved ( i got an error while copying a 400mb file but phone did not reboot this time). i am satisfied with the current progress.
Thanks for helping..

Fix for boot loop

Some weeks ago, I decided to overclock my Ace: CyanogenMod-7.1.0-RC1-Cooper-KANG plus ClockWorkMod4. Got the overclocking kernel from ketut.kumajaya and started to play with frequencies while watching CSI Las Vegas.
In general, it's stupid idea to multitask things like this. In my case, I accidentally ticked checkbox "Set at boot", set the frequency to around 870 MHz and my phone rebooted. I have gone into the bootloop, tried almost everything:
-reinstallation of CyanogenMod
-reinstallation of some other ROM i have found on my disk
-cleaning caches, wiping etc
Without sucess of course
I have decided to check, what exactly happened with my phone, so connected it to PC and started logcat. There was a lot of errors related to files on /data partition - it did not mount for some reason. I was able to access shell from Recovery, but it did not helped me too much - /data partition was entirely broken.
I realized that Samsung uses its own filesystem for /data - RFS and I had no tools to work with it - at least did not find them. In such case, I have unpacked one of the older firmwares and found, that it contains files for soome partitions, but not for the /data.
Next steps were fairly simple - go to sammobile.com, download firmwares for my Ace and check, if it contains /data (data.rfs). Eventually found one, flashed it and my phone went back alive.
Don't know if this is best method, but at least it was interesting to investigate

In general, overclocking means that system can work in an undeterministic manner. Especially an overclocked processor can write some garbage to flash - in my case it was /data partition.
Can't belive that any "Safe Mode" could help - if you play with fire, you should be ready for some burns

Everyone knows the risks and there are more than enough warning messages floating around highlighting the BLATANT ramifications of over clocking. Call me harsh, but isn't this what we DIDN'T want to see cluttering the forums? Let this be a lesson to anyone else who decides to flash the kernel.

in my opinion rom manager seriously should include warning or some mechanism to warn user that there device is not at all supported.. is there any?? just confirming as i haven't installed that ACE KILLER

It is good option to have such tool handy, but one can understand, that overclocking can hit the phone in more complex way. This was my case - overclocked system damaged partition /data.
My message is that overclocking is dangerous and one should be prepared for any results including bricking.
Comparing this with usual process of installing new firmware, recovery, bootloaders etc, overclocking is far more dangerous because of uncertainity generated by the unstable processor.

Hi again,
Answering to myself : S5830XWKPO v2.3.3 makes the trick.
Bye
similar bootloop for CM7.2 perhaps with similar solution?
Hi,
I am having a similar bootloop problem for CM7.2.
I have Odin installed, but I don't think sammobile firmware page currently stocks the appropriate files. Clicking on the links for the files just links to mediafire, invalid or deleted files. for some of those files.
I do however have some backups I made with nandroid which may be incomplete: These are all of the files generated.
cache.rfs.tar data.rfs.tar nandroid.md5 system.rfs.tar
I also just installed Android Developer Tools for Linux.
Can I use any of these things especially data.rfs.tar in Odin to fix my phone.
I just interested in how you loaded the data.rfs.tar into Odin, because I have read it is very sensitive to file order, and Odin is a good canditate mechanism for bricking my phone.
I have CW5 installed. My phone can go into download mode, and I can see corresponding COM ports in Odin.
Sorry I have not posted on the most appropriate topic, but I am interested in the way you solved your problem with logcat, and then flashing data.rfs.tar
BTW: I also found this package somewhere: I think its the whole gingerbread stock rom. Simply adding the zip to the SDCARD and trying to install from SDCARD, after clearing cache etc. wont do anything. Yet on the other hand none of these files are any good for Odin either.
~/Desktop/android_device_samsung_cooper-gingerbread$ ls
AndroidBoard.mk BoardConfig.mk init.gt-s5830.rc liblight recovery sec_key.kl ueventd.gt-s5830.rc
Android.mk camerashutter kernel overlay recovery.fstab sec_touchscreen.kl unzip-files.sh
AndroidProducts.mk device_cooper.mk libaudio prebuilt recovery_kernel setup_fs UsbController.cpp
bdaddr_read egl.cfg libcopybit qwerty.kl recovery.rc setup-makefiles.sh vendor
bluedroid extract-files.sh libgralloc ReadMe sec_jack.kl system.prop vendorsetup.sh
I wonder if anyone knows the best way to get this format of ginger bread to unzip and expand off the sdcard?
Thanks so much for any help, It would be much appreciated (even if the help is just the suggestion that I should repost under a different forum topic).

hello! i had your problem with my ace and i could not find a solution at first but after a while i had worked out a solution. i find this one a bit easier to follow for noobs NOT guaranteed to work. also you will lose ALL DATA
1.flash stock through odin (2.3.5 reccomended)
2.wipe/factory reset
3.flash this: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-eHBmC1vSXGc1BRSWlqRW1Nc28/edit - this will root your device
4.afterwards flash this: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-eHBmC1vSXGeWNBOXhCVjZTRkk/edit - this will give you cwm
5.turn off then boot into recovery again.
6.wipe data/factory reset, cache, dalvik cache, mount and format system
7. install this ROM: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-eHBmC1vSXGVU1TSjdpUlF4MDg/edit
8.boot up your phone. it will take about 5 minutes to boot again, and you will have xperiatized rom. you can now flash whatever rom you like or go back to stock. i hope i have helped you and if i have please hit thanks
Hi,
Thanks for your help and interest. There is no chance that that will work in my situation since I have never succeeded in flashing the stock android from the samsung website. In fact, I have never been able to flash anything with Odin at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Samsung drivers. Uninstalling Kies etc, using specific Samsung data cable. No measure I took was able to satisfy the condition that Odin could flash a ROM onto my Samsung gts-5830, which made me sad for a while.
Also thanks for granting permission to share googledocs files. Unfortunately I was unable to download Root.zip from google docs. Due to following error, but given I can't flash stock Android, the downloading the files will not help anyway. (Browser gives error message

Workaround for ums working on cm10/jb roms

Hi,
I don't know how many u guys have figured it out this workaround yet, but I still see many asking questions to the dev's about when UMS is gonna be incorporated in CM10/AOKP builds...
I have accidently found this neat little trick that enables UMS on CM10/AOKP roms..
Till now I have tried and got it working succesfully on Fusions cm10 kangs and Task/Ktoonez AOKP builds , but I do believe it should work on other cm10/aokp roms too..
So steps are fairly simple and here it goes :
1. Download the UMS 1.0 apk which is used as a TPA by many as a replacement. Many of U might have it , but for those who don't : https://www.dropbox.com/s/8490g42b01255t9/USB Mass Storage for JB.apk
2. Install the app. Open it .. it will take few seconds to get SuperUser permission.. then connect the USB connector and a notication will popup with blue androbot.. touch it and it will turn green to ur UMS will be connected.. Ensure that both internal and external SD are connected and accessible (Imp).
3. Turn off UMS and reboot the phone... Once booted up uninstall the UMS app
Reboot the phone again and then try to connect to USB again.. This time you will get prompted like this : (See screenshot)
4. Now u connect to the PC via UMS , and as always bot turns green.. Voila u have UMS now !!!
I do know some of you might have already been using this , and I don't boast it being a great discovery.. just something worth sharing for the unaware..
Cheers !!!
I wonder where that feature went. It don't matter to me because you can still transfer files including video and music to your phones. Without having to do those steps.
I would also assume you would have to do those steps every time you flash a new ROM or updated your old one. But thanks for the info

Yes.. u can still transfer videos, music etc using MTP.... but in my case MTP was quite iffy... randomly throwing write errors and sometimes only copying partial files..
Also one more issue that I was facing with MTP was , with every new rom install, I was not able to pre-existing files on External SD .. although it showed certain space as full.. it didn't show the contents.
So I researched and finally got this working this way.. using UMS I never have any issues mentioned above.. Thus this solution maybe more beneficial for guys having this issue like me
And to your question - yes u do have to follow this step with every new ROM install..
I believe the reason for getting rid of UMS was to consolidate internal and external memory to a single "drive" and that's why MTP is used. I don't know if that's completely accurate but that was my understanding. But I agree, I'm no fant of MTP.

I have no idea why MTP is implemented instead of UMS and I think u may be right on the money for the reason behind this, but I do know this -
MTP is really pain in the ass. U can't copy two files seperately at one time. Hell u can't even delete one file while copying other. Sure it does pull up both drives under same roof, but for cm10 its quite buggy for less fortunate like me
I hear ya brother
With UMS I had no issues. Now when copying over my music it fails with certain tracks stating the device was disconnected. Only those files though. It even warns me before the transfer that certain media files might not be playable. I accept the warning but if one of my tracks plays, they all should. My whole collection was ripped to mp3 personally using the same codec settings for all.
Currently on the CM10 2012.09.24 nightly.

MTP allows the filesystem to be changed without unmounting it from the operating system. This allows phone apps and processes that use any resources on the volume to continue to use them. With UMS, the volume is unmounted and mounted via USB to the computer. Another 'feature' of MTP is that it doesn't have to be removed like UMS. Since UMS mounts as a USB volume and most operating systems implement some form of write-caching with normal volumes, even though a copy operation 'completes', it may be cached, and not actually have completed copying data.
In Windows, removing the device via the tray icon tells Windows to finish any operations it has pending, close open files, and unmount the filesystem. If you remove the device before doing these things, you CAN get corrupted data. From my experience, this rarely happened, and never with small files. Then you get that annoying dialog every time you reconnect the device that the volume needs scanning, blah, blah...

this is already implemented in cm10 you could simply just go to Settings > Storage > hit Menu > select either mtp, mass storage or ptp Connection. what this app do is just to activate the usb mass storage mode. It is already incorporated in cm10. cheers

Disclaimer: I have no knowledge of AOSP roms, or of the application in the OP. That being said...
File transfer behavior is governed by the system property /data/property/persist.sys.usb.config. This is a text file containing a single string. The settings are "mass_storage,adb" or "mtp, adb". Since this is a system file, it is necessary for the phone to be rooted, and then this file can be edited using a root file explorer. Change the text in the file to mtp,adb (without spaces), save the file, and reboot the phone. UMS, or USB Mass Storage is the first one. This is true for Samsung firmware.

Hi Sam,
That looks like a proper 32gb pit, unlike some others I have been sent!
So, I can have a play with this one.
But, how big are you looking for your data partition to be? i.e. the area that apps are installed? I reckon somewhere between 8-12gb, but you know better than me how many apps you want installed
Let me know what you are looking for and I will make a test file for you.
Of course, like anyone submitting pit files to me, you take the risk in testing, I don't have one of these devices myself so I cannot verify at my risk, unlike how I did for the 16gb variant back in the day
Look forward to hearing back from you, make sure you either reply quoting this message or mention me in the post (@metalgearhathaway) otherwise I won't get a notification that you have replied.
Take care,
Chris

Hey Chris,
so a bit of progress -possibly- on this, i have been looking around since and it seems like that whole command thing i mentioned in my PM seems to affect the PIT
so per suggestion i used a tool called EFS Professional found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ol-updated-09-06-14-efs-professional-t1308546
Which outputs the PIT file after EFS partition backup ( which should be useful later). I attached the original file, Also i think i got the concept of how to edit it so i used PIT Magic and edited that file with a 1GB for the system partition and 8GB for the Apps and the usual pre-load size ( doesn't bother me). I'm attaching this as well so, please take a look at it and tell me if my alteration is correct.
There's also the signature issue which as i understand is the last bit of the file, i did checked with a HEX editor and it sure wasn't the same after the edit so i went ahead and added again that last lost bit so it matches the original stock PIT file ( it went from 2KB to 3KB ). So, let me know if that's an issue or if the SII isn't affected by this as it was suggested elsewhere ( i also assume by your PIT files sizes).
Other than that i think 8GB is a good place to start, i wont fill it up for a bit or would i!? we'll see.
And yes, i understand the risk and was wondering if there's anything else i should do to minimize it other than making backup for the EFS partition, backup the internal SD and have a fresh CWM backup on the external SD? btw i should i do something about the apps that's already moved to the SD? i'm already running out of space so i wont be able to move them back to the phone..if that's a problem then should i backup one by one through Titanium Backup and uninstall then restore when i restore the ROM after the New PIT or all that would take care of itself as long as i restore the internal SD as it was before i restore the ROM?
EDIT: i know you go over this in step 10, i'm just not sure how if it's gonna prompt to format SD anyway.
Sorry, too much questions but i don't wanna be left high and dry in the middle of this
Thanks,
Sam.

Hi Sam,
All looks good to me!
As for precautions, all I can say is have your stock pit file ready if it does not work out! Nandroids do not contain pit information! But I reckon you have guessed that already
I find that flashing the pit file together with a sammy stock rom works best, then root and install your prefered os build!
Let me know how you get on! All the best, Chris
can i increase /system to 1Gb by reducing internal SD?some rom like miui or color os need /preload.is it possible?thankyou
Help me pls with galaxy s2

I have been using galaxy s2 from 2 years and 4 months now.

Hey Chris!
sorry, bit distracted these days but wanted to give u a quick update. i actually couldn't wait for your reply and went ahead and did it!! all worked perfectly
the only odd thing is that the battery is acting funny now and i already calibrated the chip again, that was the one odd thing but i cant see how this would have affected it.
now it seems like 8GB might have been bit much for my usage but i'll just leave it now plus i know the how-to now anyway are you going to update the files with the 32 version or you dont think it's worth it being just me who asked? anyway, u have a legit stock PIT now, so your call
thanks again

partition worked, not enough storage?
Hi!
I've applied the Pre-load 45mb / 8GB pit to my S2 (i9100) (and CM kernel stock 06.02.14) and flashed CM11 M11 ...
For some reason, when i want to install the latest Gapps stock package from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942 through CWM it gives me the error that there isn't enough space ...
to be precice:
Insufficient storage space available in System partition. blah blah
You need 350236 KB system free space.
You only have 164636 KB available.
I wonder why this is happening ... i should have enough space now, shouldn't i?

Big problem
Hi
I'm new on the forum.
Yesterday I tried to expand the partition of my GT-I9100 phone but with the wrong files :
I used those downloadable on this link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-pit-files-creating-larger-partition-t2552738 instead of those of this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...es/mod-partition-internal-memory-app-t2538947.
I thought nothing had happened at first place so in order to exit the download mode I removed the battery.
Since then my phone doesn't boot anymore : no light, no sound, only the dark screen.
Is there something I can do to get back my phone ?
Thanks a lot !

You used a PIT file which maintains the original 512MB system partition size. This is not enough to install Full or even medium apps.
Flash a PIT file with 768MB or 1 GB (i recommend 768MB) system and this will be enough for almost any ROM with Full Gapps.
SGS2 Repartition in fewest steps using Heimdall (not Odin)
Hello all,
My GT-i9100/GalaxyS2 runs CyanogenMod 11M12 & ClockworkRecovery 6.0.x.x;
All works fine except for the limited size of the default 2GB partition (insufficient space to update Apps); plenty of space on the rest of the internal storage.
What is the best way to repartition this? Can I *just* apply a new PIT file using Heimdall?
Heimdall-frontend asks for files for lots of partitions -- what's the minimum I need to supply (for which partitions: GANG, DATAFS, ...) & where do they come from?
Or indeed if I have to supply them all, where to they come from?
- there are loads of how-to guides on XDA and elsewhere, I've spend many hours looking at them, but they don't seem (to my eyes at least) to address the Q's above.
- I realise it'll wipe & reset the phone: not a problem to re-cyanogenmod & set it all up again once repartitioning done 'safely'.
- I don't have access to a Windows/Odin box, so I set it up ages ago using Heimdall following set up following wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_i9100, but that doesn't mention changing partition sizes
- obviously I already have a selection of PITs to try, plus downloads of GAPPs, CyanogenMod, ClockworkRecovery etc -- I just need some guidance and background on how to apply them without bricking the device.
Many thanks in advance.
Hi guys, complete noob here. I have been lurking this forum since I got flashed my S2 last year and have been updating from CM 10 to now CM12.
Today I have used CWM to upgrade my S2 to CM12 5.0.2 Beta and installed Pico gapps. Turns out I need the Nano gapps for Exchange support but without sufficient space it's not going to work.
Can someone help me with the appropriate PIT and Kernel files? I don't have an original JB image and I don't have a RIL file (Belgium). The FP is very detailed but I have no idea what the exact files are to use.
Any help appreciated.
Hope for korean SGS2
is there a way for me to increase my korean version of SGS2 storage, i really love this, thanks

New Pit file with 2 GB system for Stock GAPPS
Hi all,
after losing almost a day because of a faulty pit file I created my own.
Goal: upgrade S2 to Android 5 with Google Stock package ( biggest one from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/paranoid-android/general/gapps-official-to-date-pa-google-apps-t2943900 ) and have more data space
Find attached a new .pit file with :
- 2 GB system
- 6 GB Data
- 3GB internal SD
- hidden partition 45 MB
If I did some miss calculation , feel free to report. It was the first .pit with which Android 5 + stock gapps could be flashed and which booted so I thought I'd share.

Softbrick: Can't format system partition

Hi all,
to make it plain and short: I messed up.
I have a GT-S5830i which I unrooted according to the Sticky Note in the forum, installed CWM Recovery and then 'installed from ZIP' a CM9_cooperve_Beta_05.zip that I found in one of the posts in the forum. The installation went on without error message but since then the phone does not make it beyond the initial screen "Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i". I can start recovery mode and Download mode. In reovery mode I can format cache, data, sdcard, sd-ext but *not* system. Error Message: "E: format_volume: make_ext4fs failed on /dev/block/st19"
I have tried already several methods according to the forum, e.g.
1) 'install from ZIP' older Cyanogenmod
2) the tool ext4_formatter.zip
3) re-flash with ODIN with several tar-ROMs, all failed. Odin finds the phone (since I start Odin as Admin now), but after I hit 'start' it tries to establish a connection to the phone and ends after a while with 'Failed'
I'm basically lost now, don't know what else to do. Any advise is appreciated (it's my mom's phone, she is getting impatient )
Thx, cheers!
Xala
Hi @xalarsk , So you can't format your /system partition , which is required for installation of your rom ,, you need to try this method from here mate . Follow my instruction from the line @post#4 :"1. Download one of the newest ,,," to the end of the post and please do not use CM9 beta , because it is unstable and will wreak havoc with your system eventually . ( either cm7 or cm11 is the place you should go for CyanogenMod experience for cooperVe device ).
If you fail at any level please give us your logcat ( error massage ) for better support for your Odin process you mentioned .
Cygwin not working
Hi @ehsanotaku,
thank you for your quick reply, it's appreciated!
Unfortunately I couldn't get cygwin to install all necessary packets. The ZIP-test always failed. I have a Linux system running (Linux Mint 17) though, and hope that might help. In the meantime I tried to download the already split packages as described in another of your forum posts, but the website provides only exe-files instead of zip-files. Is there another location to download them?
#UPDATE: It seems there is a SplitFUS2 version for linux somewhere but couldn't find links to download. Anybody can help? I'll also PM Doky73
Cheers, Holger

Cygwin was meant for windows platform to get the native Linux environment/command line you already got there . You can create a virtual instance of the windows 7 inside virtualbox or any kind of apps you are preferring such as Vmware/Parallel etc etc to get the job done .
Splitfus2 only supports windows platform as far as i know mate,,, either vitalization as i said or the pre-made zip package ( which is clearly not .exe file ,, push the download now and get yourself a descent downland manager,, tested and zip packaged delivered ) from here is the feasible approach for your problem .
Ok, had all the files ready, just the Boot loader <DefaultCalDataWithBoot_S5830iXXLB1_REV00.tar.rar seems to be broken. I downloaded the link provided in your post #8 several times with several download managers, also uses 7-zip and several online unrar services..result always the same: The archive is broken. Is that possible? Would you mind to check yourself?

Mostly this happened because of the bug inside CM9 beta you used . Study this topic mate i troubleshooted while ago for a sample of the symptoms external SD card would show after unstable ICS usage .
Also as an alternative to the method i instructed there , you can format/Re-partition your SD card by putting it inside card reader and using app such as free MiniTool Partition Wizard "Gparted" tool for Linux users Or "iPartiton" for Mac users etc etc ,, to get the job done . You can find several tutorials inside XDA for this matter mate.
Phone works with CM7.2, can I upgrade to CM9?
Hi again,
first of all, props to @ehsanotaku, I will hit the 'Thanks' buttons.
Now, this is a bit beyond the topic, but I'd like to ask anyway for recommendations of CM9 roms. The one I picked from a post inside this forum bricked my phone and made me start this thread, I don't want to go down this road again. So I'd be glad for any recommendation of a stable ROM that will put my phone beyond Android 4.0.
Cheers again,
Xala
So i have a similar issue. I used to have CM11 installed, but i figured thats too slow for me. Then i went back to stock rom (XXMJ2) which works fine. But now i have a problem.
Everytime i want to flash a stock based or cm7 based rom on my phone, it gets messed up. Today i wanted to flash this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace/s5830i-develop/cm-7-2-kitkat-smart-r2-t3075267
i naturally downloaded clockwork mod recovery (5.0.2.6) and tried to flash it. Flashing was done pretty quickly (10 seconds or so) and when i rebooted, i obviously got stuck at sammy logo. Now booting back to the recovery (first e3 then cwm) i got bunch of error about partritions not being able to be mounted (happens the same if i want to manually mout them or format them)...
So, what to do ?
I have a suspicion, that flashing CM11 and the latest cwm recovery for it somehow messed up partritions.

ok not going to excruciating details of symptoms and explaining all of your errors for now just please read my advice @ post2 of this topic and follow the procedures accordingly and finished it with formatter tools and cm7 instructions you will find there ., after that you can install Kitkat Smart R2 like you are coming from another CM7 build instruction . btw some problem regarding super user privileges and play store 492-498 infamous bug was reported for this fairly new development .

Hi, I´ve ported a rom for BluDash 5.5 based on Resurrection, just let me know if someone want for share
Few questions about your port...
1: Is the default camera working properly?
2: Are you able to connect to any Bluetooth device?
3: When you reboot the device, are any manual changes you make kept? Example. Background, icons, etc?
I have created multiple boot animations and logos for this device. I have a variant of CM 12.1 but the issues I asked above are preventing me from posting everything.
Any input will be appreciated.

Rom Ported Blu Dash 5.5
Hi, well, I've ported this rom keeping in mind that I have not found no one a custom rom across the web, phone is not mine but I behaved for someone and the reason is that the original rom already had problems with the length battery charging and then booting, he stayed in the logo and the last time no longer started, I clarify that I am not a developer, I'm just an enthusiast and my english is very bad.
Consider the following points; Of 12 roms that I ported these have different bugs would therefore be better not to share, this rom is lightweight and has good length battery, I think it is based on cm but not sure, the native camera works well, just need SD card, bluetooth working properly, it boots normal, there is nothing to set back, known bug; when connected to the PC does not recognize internal memory but yes SD, I think it is a minor problem, give it a day to stabilize better, I used recovery Philz Touch, anyway if someone wants to improve it you feel free to do so, it's for Blu Dash 5.5 firmware D470u but I think that rolls in others.
Is the ROM good for everyday use?
It seems you ported it somehow to run of the sdcard not internal memory. Are you able to use both internal memory and sdcard?
TD378
ROM is not ported with propose of run from SD card, probably characteristics from origin, phone runs properly almost twenty days without major probs, I think is good for a day use, of fact it haven't a SD card inside, runs without it
What are the minor issue you have with current port? They may help me with my port.

Well, minor issues are;
- Some apps like Memo from Chensi ask for SD card but others like Colornote not, I think that for some reason some apps can't read internal memory.
- when a notification is on status bar I displayed to down scrollbar but at third or fourth time it's unable.
- When connected to pc don't appear internal memory but yes SD card.
I didn't see more issues, probably few errors from porting, considering that 2 of these issues keep relation with internal memory
The screen on my device cracked causing it to no longer be useful. If anyone wishes to continue work on this rom, please let me know and I will provide you the information I have completed.
