[Q] Google calendar sports schedule - wrong dates on android - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone.
I use the sports calendar from Google Calendar, and while the schedules shows the right date and time on my PC, every event shows on my phone one day and 3 hours before the right time. I believe the 3 hours has something to do with my time zone (GMT -03:00). My other events, such as my personal and work calendars are correct both on my PC and phone.
Anyone else have this problem or knows how to fix this?
Thanks!

Calendar Appointments Showing Up 1 Hour Earlier

I have a user who's Eris has a recurring appointment that shows up 1 hour earlier than it's scheduled to be. He's syncing through Exchange and the appointment shows up at the proper time in Outlook, just not on his phone.
Manually changing each event works but if you try to change the entire series it stays at the incorrect time.
The originator of the appointment won't be back until next week otherwise I would have her delete the meeting and resend it. Any thoughts on what might be going on? All of his other appointments are on time. This seems to be the only one.

Maybe the time zone or DST is off on his phone?
I have the same problem as this with an HD2 running a Desire Android build (MDJ FroYo Sense Clean v. 2.4 [kernel: MDJ S6.1)
I have used HTC Sync to sync my Outlook calendar and contacts to my HD2. This is all OK but the appointment times in both Android and HTC sense calendars are showing as 1 hour early, i.e. Appointment with real start time of 10:00 shows as 09:00.
My time settings all appear to be OK, GMT+0, London for UK. Time is correct. Auto update is enabled and working.
What is more weird is that I have installed the Android version of Pocket Informant, as I use this in WM6.5.x mode, and this shows the times correctly.
I've searched forums for solution and found many fixes for incorrect GMT settings or DST problems, but these do not seem to fit with this issue as Clock times appear to be OK.
Not sure if this is a problem with this build, or a more general Android problem.
Any thoughts gratefully received.
Andy
Well, better than and hour late ;-p

[Q] Calendar does not reflect changes

Hi I have searched the Desire and Android thread but I can't find anything on this.
I am a football fan and I subscribed to this fixtures calendar on Google Calendar. Now, sometimes the fixtures get postponed/delayed/cancelled, and they get reflected on my Google Calendar on my PC.
However, it is not updated on my HTC Desire's Google Calendar, even after repeated refresh/syncing/restart.
Example:
Game A is on Monday 10 pm (both reflected on Google Calendar on phone and PC)
Game A got postponed to 1130 pm on Monday ( Google Calendar on PC reflects this change, but my phone Google Calendar still indicate 10 pm)
Really annoying, I have missed games because of this! Does anyone else have this issue?

Android Calendar removing recurring events

Alright, I'll be brief. I set up several recurring events on Google Calendar and when I sync my Android Calendar the recurrence and location are deleted. I'm left with just the original start date with only an event name.
I searched the forums and didn't find this posted yet.
Steps taken to duplicate problem:
Create a recurring event with Google Calendar on PC.
Give the event a title, description, location and recurrence (8:00 every Mon at "White House" for example).
Sync Google Calendar with Android Phone
Wait ~15 mins or reboot
Only the original event is left with just an event title. Recurrence and location wiped.
I'm not sure what is causing this, it's happened on every single ROM I've tried so far (GB, ICS and JB). Changing kernel makes no difference.
Can anyone else confirm this or is there perhaps a known solution?

I cannot give you a solution, but the problem most certainly exists on your phone, possibly a rogue app? I have multiple recurrent meetings and they show just fine - some are at least a year old. Recent (new) daily and weekly meetings show up as well.
Good luck,

[Q] Migrating from Nokia to Google through Outlook - Birthday problems

Dear Forum,
I’m having some hiccups migrating the birthdays from an old nokia 7230 to Google, and let them sync from there to a S3.
I’ve been able to transfer all the Contacts to google with *.vfc, used Nokia PC Suite to transfer Calendar (Events + Birthdays) to Outlook and from there synced with google.
I have a problem with the layout or rather the way Outlook interprets the data which was placed in the Nokia.
Outlook just places the Event on the top bar for the day it was created, not respecting the time it was scheduled for. The time of the event is mentioned, e.g. “Dentist 18:45”…it’s not a big issue, as I can just drag the event to the proper time. I hope that Google Calendar will get synced with the same alert I set in Outlook though…
For birthdays, the Nokia has a very efficient way to remind. You just enter the exact birthdate (year included) and on that specific day you get an alert for that person, showing even the age.
Now – how do you do this in Outlook or Google ? It indeed imported all the data from the Nokia, but it’s not showing the age neither the year or birth. I’ve found a few apps like Age+ or Birthdays that do exactly that.
However, if you uninstall the app those dates are gone…not good… Obviously they are backed up in Outlook/Google… but I haven’t found anything else that comes close.
I was thinking of maybe using GoogleDocs, make a formula, and link it to the cell in GoogleCalendar…not sure if that works though…
Do you maybe have another idea ?
Thank you for reading me,
Kind regards,
Ken
Possible fix for your calendar
This fix works for me on a Nokia Lumia 820 synching with Outlook (!Live/Hotmail).
The fault is with Outlook (!Live/Hotmail). Just follow the instructions in the attached PDF.
The PDF is for the Birthday calendar but will probably work for the others too.
Hope this works for you.

Google Calendar time skipping

Hi folks,
It has been a long time... How have you been?
I have a small but annoying problem with my Google Calendar and Windows Phone 8 Amber:
Since we have switched to wintertime again here in Denmark all appointments I make on my phone skip one hour when syncing up with Google.
If I put in an event for 2 o'clock the time will skip to 1 o'clock on my phone after a few seconds.
Timezone is set correctly on both the phone and in my Google Calendar...
Any good suggestions?
/Anders
