Hi,
i setup my Google account to sync my personal data which includes Wifi passwords. So I went to a friends router and entered the password into my smartphone and connected to the Wifi successfully. While in the network I synced my smartphones Google account. Then I enabled Wifi hotspot on my smartphone in order to sync my N7 Google account to receive the newly synced password. But sadly after syncing I couldn't connect to the Wifi because the password was not synced.
What did I do wrong?
Can anyone help?
After a hard-long internet search I've discovered that there's an alternative way in which you can eventually recover the information from google's own servers since that's where your device (or past devices) backups/backed up your data. The following link is a guide to this option.

As a reminder, you're the only one responsible for any possible damages involved when "tinkering" with your phone. Adb and root are necessary, so please refrain yourself from continuing if you don't even know these words!
Cheers

I just flash new rom and it happen at the first start. Can't sign in Google Account, so I can't sync my contact and use market, etc. I search for many solutions, such as, hard reset, clear cahce in Application setting, reflash rom, roll back to old rom, and so on. It still can't connect!!!!
"Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care."
This message show up when I try to connect. Pls. Help!!!!
auto response for data problems:
connect to wifi
or check your current APN settings
who is your service provider?
where are you located?
I'm now in Beijing, China. (China Mobile) but, I can sync with this before. I'm here 1 year already. It just happen to unable to sync 2 days ago. I'm sure I have wifi connection, because I can use browser to log in to gmail. However, can't establish connection between phone and google account. Current APN setting is set to China Mobile!! Someone here said it was a problem of google sevice, so everyone now can't resync if reset phone. Is it true?
I'm having the same problems in Beijing as well. I wasn't able to log into my account. Every other time I flash a rom its been problem free, but it's been 2 days now. Same message, 'can't establish a reliable days connection to the google servers'
I can also surf and login through my carrier and WiFi, but no login.
I'm also in China (not Beijing; I'm in Dalian) and using China Mobile. I reinstalled the firmware this morning and I also cannot connect to Google's servers. Everything works fine using Wifi, and I've tried clearing the cache etc.
Looks like a Google issue?
i`m in iran and i have same problem my wifi and apn work because i can use browser and my google account is working because i use it in my pc.but my ppc with android can not connect i used it befor but now i can`t
Hi. I've got a Nexus 7 with Google Chrome, when I try to login to any of the hardware on my network by inputting the local IP number I get '404 Access denied' with no option to input the necessary username & password. I'm assuming there must be some way of logging in to the likes of my router, can somebody tell me how I can login to such devices. TIA - Andy.
Edit: Bugger! It seems to work today. I think that the resource I was trying last night won't let you login over it's own WiFi connection, when I try via ethernet or over another WiFi connection I get an authentication panel. Must be a security restriction.
Until 2-3 days ago, both my Google account sync on my phone and WiFi connectivity worked. However, both of these have now failed. I am not sure they are linked, but I assume they are considering the problems surfaced at a similar time.
1) Gmail doesn't work - the app opens, but does not download or send emails. No error message appears, it just does nothing. I press refresh to no avail. Going onto the Play Store and again encountering account sync failure made me realise it was an account wide and phone problem and not just Gmail.
2) Whilst my data connection works (and therefore the above account sync problem is not one of connectivity), the WiFi connection that worked up until 2 days ago does not work anymore. It is a hotel network, but rather than redirect me to a login page it sends me to a single page (not the login page) and does not allow any other sites. The problem is most probably down to my phone as the WiFi network and login works fine on my PC and for everyone else in the hotel.
Any ideas as to how to resolve this?
Thanks

Clear data from Google framework services..delete your google account..reboot ..add your Google account again..and do this on your data network..coz for WiFi you need to contact the admin of your hotel..

On the most of the android phones by default, informing the user all the saved WiFi password it will be sync with your google account. In case of change the phone or reset the phone, user are able retrieve them by input the g-mail user and password and bring back the saved WiFi network on the android device.
Most of the time this feature, it is work fine but not always.
It happen for me recently! I just saw all my saved network has been disappear, I try all possible option (safe-mode/ set account on a new phone/ restore my phone/ contact google support 2 times)
Even the google support can't figure it out how it been erased
Google final answer it was "it might was some technical issue while synchronizing with the cloud"
I try to put some of the WiFi pass again, but even after it there is no options on the android or google dashboard to see the new WiFi pass has been sync or not.
Basically the information about WiFi password it has been collected from user but there is not any report to the end user about it!
The password is should reachable again same as the saved password in the google chrome or the history of location/search in all other services...
but
1- The SSID/pass is not retrievable from google account.
2- In Google dashboard is not show at least like names of the saved network.
3- Google is not even tell the user number of the saved WiFi network.
It should be a way to monitor this sync process and make sure it's working in proper way!
is there any way to monitor this sync process?
Hello,
i have a long time problem with my Google account. It simply dont sync (stores/restores) my Wi-Fi passwords.
when i am loged on an android device with my account, sync is turned on. Then I connect to a new wi-fi networks with password protection, then after a week or two (and other periods like three months and so) i make full wipe, flash another rom, sign in to my google account and BAM no stored wi-fi networks (like my parents, my work etc....) I have to type the passwords again. And this is long term issue (from Nexus S in 2011, trough various devices, various tablets until now).
I tried to copy the wpa_supplicant.conf file to other devices or OS versons, but even when i correct the permissions, the wifi dont turn on.
I have a particular solution. I grab always the wpa_cupplicant.conf from my latest device and make a backu pof this file. Then when I am on new ROM and i need to enter the password i copy it from the wpa_supplicant.conf file.
Is there any option how to manage stored wifi passwords trough my google account on my PC or to reset the ability to store the wifi passwords.
