did some searching, and could not find a definitive answer, so your help is much appreciated.
so ive got the at&t htc one with hboot 1.44 and s-off
if i use the latest at&t ruu, will it update the hboot? and if so, will i keep s-off with the updated hboot?
even if it doesnt, has anybody updated the hboot past 1.44 when they already had s-off, and did they keep s-off?
thanks in advance!

S-off remains until you enter the command to s-on.
RUU will update/downgrade all phone files/ROM.

Hey guys i was wondering if you can flash a earlier stock rooted Ruu while on hboot 1.50 with the htc unlock method. If you were to flash one of the stock rooted Ruu, would that downgrade the hboot version to the earlier versions. Or did Htc lock down the hboot 1.50 version from being downgraded. Any advice would be helpful.

Anytime man
Okay guys ... I know the rules ... do a search and some reading before you ask a stupid question.
Well, I've been searching and reading for the last two hours and I have not found an answer to this, so here goes:
I am on HC (came that way), I am S-On and I've unlocked on htcdev.com (and can easily re-lock if needed). What I'd like is to get S-OFF, but Revolutionary doesn't support hboot 1.14.xx SO ...
Can I downgrade hboot WITHOUT running the GB RUU? My preference would be S-OFF and rooted (with CWM & SU) but keep HC for now.
If not, would I be correct in running Globatron's HC->GB downgrade, rooting then running his GB->HC upgrade?
Thanks!
JB
EVO 4G
Rooted Revolutionary
TWRP Recovery 2.0
MIUI 1.12.9
Tiamat 4.1.0-sbc+
EVO View 4G
Stock HC
hboot 1.14.0005
HTC Sense 1.1
Honeycomb requires it's own Hboot, GB hboots are not compatible.
No you can't downgrade without an RUU or my light downgrade methods. Hboot is only part of the story.
I'm wondering if you had any luck Rooting it? I have a same problem, mine is also HC and with 1.14.0005 HBoot, how did you Root it?

I think you need to downgrade to GB, root and S-Off with Revolutionary, then you can upgrade back to HC with globatron's method.

Does anybody have a mirror for the HTC view downgrade RUU
hello everyone,
so, before i had hboot 1.58 locked i was actually on hboot 1.5 unlocked and obtained s-off via the "wire trick". i recently flashed the latest version of meanrom and flashed a zip with the rom that updated my hboot to the latest version. even though upgrading to hboot 1.58 kept me s-off the bootloader now says "locked". my question is do i need to be unlocked again to flash successfully?

No. S-Off is the only unlock you need. You're good to go. Just keep in mind the older ROMs not based on the Sprint ICS OTA do not play well with HBoot 1.58. Since you're S-Off you can downgrade and re-upgrade your HBoot whenever you want to flash whatever you want.

Hi,(First day with my 3D)
Since the same process is used to achieve S-Off on 1.50 and 1.58...
Is there any good reason to NOT update to 1.58 before I S-Off?
Thank you.

No.
Check out this guide if you are planning to get S-OFF. It will update your phone to the Sprint ICS 2.89.651.2 build, including hboot 1.58, before rooting and gaining S-OFF.

Going to read and see if it would be safe to take the ICS OTA in place of the RUU?
Thanks again.

The RUU is a more complete update for the 2.89.651.2 Sprint ICS build than the OTA, and I highly recommend using it if you want a solid base for rooting and S-OFF. Some people have had problems with the HTC unlock required for JuopunutBear S-OFF after taking the OTA, and the guide I linked requires the RUU.exe as a base.

Thank for the link and the info.
I followed the link and got the wire trick on my first attempt (somehow, lol) and now my Evo3D is S-Off with 1.58 and on ICS.
I am s-off, rooted and unlocked with hboot 1.15 is there a reason to or do I need to update the hboot? what is the pros and cons of doing this? and were would I get the upgraded hboot if I need it.
You are fine if you are running the DR hboot no need to update
http://unlimited.io/jewel.htm if you want to update to the new 2.09 DR hboot
Thanks
Thanks for the quick reply. I am just going to stay were I am for now. Love running the meanbeam and all is very well with it,:good:
