I flashed the Galaxy SIII font .zip pack on my rooted GAlaxy SII(GTI9100) and the device stopped working after that. When I put in CWM Recovery mode and check mount/storage it says cannot mount/sdcard and even /system is wiped off. Now all I have is the screen saying "SAMSUNG GALAXY SII- GTI9100" and yellow triangle.
How to I restore it back now?? Downloaded stock Rom and tried flashing with Odin. But though Odin recognizes device, it does not flash.
Kindly Help!!
You will need to put the phone into download mode not cwm recovery (hold vol down + home + power) then flash a stock rom via odin you can download a stock rom through check fus down-loader Hope this helps bud..

bootloop happens when the Rom corrupts during installation or installing any other application. or some people using ROM Manager . Never use ROM Manager you will loose the cwm. Download any ROM which supports Odin. flash it you should be fine. Then you can switch back to your favorite ROM. this is a good rom you can flash via odin.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095274
PS : if you don't like to flash ROM just flash CWM via Odin which should give you access to CWM. you can restore you backup ROM if you have one or have any other ROM in your phone memory.

I was facing the same problem some days ago, but after surfing this forum, I realised that if you have Kies running in the background, Odin will behave oddly and will not flash the firmware by going into a bootloader loop.
I suggest that you re-install the drivers again and make sure that Kies is not running in the background when you are flashing through Odin (just fire up your Task Manager in Windows and terminate the Kies process).
Hope this helps you...
Hi guys
I have just flashed Omega v8.1 to my phone and reflashed CWM touch, rebooted into recovery and now my phone won't boot. It turns on and just displays the "Samsung Galaxy S3" screen. I have tried flashing via the Galaxy s 3 toolkit but this requires USB debugging to be enabled. It looks as though it is not enabled as the toolkit does not recognise my phone.. The only thing I can do is boot it into download mode.
Any clues??
Thanks
If you can go on download mode, then flash stock firmware via odin.

Firstly your phone is fine, it can be easily fixed one way or another.
Can you still boot into recovery?
If not, reflash recovery using ODIN via Download mode
Once you have access to the recovery, try wiping the following:
Data/Factory reset
Cache
Dalvik Cache
Format /system (probably not required but just in case)
And then reflash the omega ROM, making sure it is not corrupt; maybe redownload/check MD5 sum to be sure.
If, for whatever reason you are still having problems with the phone not booting into Android, I would try flashing a different ROM for the time being.
Also, you posted this in the wrong section
Just flash the stock rom?
Yep bricked phone isn't really a problem, unless it's hardware related.

Ive tried flashing stock ROM via ODIN through the toolkit but this requires USB debugging mode. The issue is not with Omega as I was able to use my phone after flashing, I think the CWM flash didnt work properly.
How else can I flash via ODIN, the toolkit is the only way I know.
Thanks for the comments guys...

I d say, simply get odin separately, then re-create the same settings as when the toolkit does it.
It really is very simple once you ve done it once or twice Don t panic and take the time to make sure the right boxes are checked and double-triple check then reboot in Download mode, plug it in then gogo !

If I select flash via odin in the toolkit (option 8), it says make sure that USB debugging is enabled... If i try and continue it just waits for usb debugging and does not flash.

You can use odin without the toolkit for the meantime, just run it and put your phone on downlod mode

Ok, sry, then the toolkit reboots your device first to download mode via adb, take the already given advice to use Odin itself, just download it put the Rom tar (or tar.md5) into pda, make sure that only auto reboot and reset time is checked, reboot to download mode continue by pressing up, plugin the cable and press the start button at Odin.

Forget running the toolkit, forget USB debugging mode. You do not need it for now.
And there is no need to download or setup ODIN or anything like that.
Just go to folder/directory where you installed the toolkit (usually C:\Samsung Galaxy S3 ToolKit) and look for the file called 'Odin3_v3.07' or 'Odin3_v3.04' or whatever version you find. Then run it; tada, ODIN is running now!
Now, put your phone in download mode. To do this, hold VOL DOWN and HOME and POWER buttons together and let go when you see the 'Samsung Galaxy S III' logo come up.
Then it will load up a screen that says press VOL UP to continue (and enter download mode). Press it.
Now it should say 'Downloading do not turn off target!'
Connect your USB Cable and proceed to flash a new CWM recovery using ODIN
Then once you have flashed a new recovery, boot into it (VOL UP & HOME & POWER buttons together).
Then follow my instructions from my previous post.

If you want to flash a stock ROM instead of CWM + Custom ROM then you can do that via ODIN as well.

Boot into custom recovery (VOL UP & HOME & POWER buttons together)
Then:
Data/Factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Reboot into Android and see if that has fixed it; if not, then go back to CWM recovery and do the following:
Data/Factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Format /system (probably not required but just in case)
And then flash Omega ROM again
how? CMW is not opening the phone is only able to open in download mode nothing else. Its a fault with OMEGA 8.1 mods or maybe siyah beta kernal
how to start in recovery mode? If i press the 3 buttons it takes me to download mode

How to enter RECOVERY mode on the Samsung Galaxy S3
1) Make sure the phone is turned OFF (take out battery, wait 10 seconds, replace battery, make sure nothing appears on screen)
2) Press+Hold the VOL UP and HOME buttons, together
3) Now, whilst holding these two buttons together, press+hold the POWER button
4) Keep all of these buttons held down, don't let go even if you see the 'Samsung Galaxy S III' logo screen, ignore it and keep holding those three buttons down
5) Once you see the recovery screen, you can let go of the buttons and start using the recovery as you wish
How to enter DOWNLOAD mode on the Samsung Galaxy S3
Follow all the steps as above, except at step 2) press+hold VOL DOWN and HOME buttons together
Hi every body hope you're doing great! Well today i had accidentally flash my galaxy s2 with the wrong room(jelly bean XXLSJ) via room manger in cyanogen mod 9 and i forgot that it was rooted so i wont be able to get access to it: the screen stop at the samsung logo
Therfore i tried to reflash it with cyangen mod again with odin but odin is unable to finish the flashing process and it remain like that (up it show kernel in the rectangle )
I was shocked and thankfully i steel have the download mode but i can't access to the recovery menu i didn't know what to do, i tried other stock rooms but in vain
When i boot normally it said in the screen "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again"
Can you help me guys? I will be grateful ^_^
Well firstly its "rom" not "room.
To solve your situation simply flash Siyah kernel via download mode in odin. Once installed you will have cwm so just boot into recovery and flash the rom zip you want.
For future reference you should NOT be using "Rom Manager" from google play etc. Its not properley compatible with I9100. If you wish to flash roms or backup etc then just reboot into CWM or use the CWM Manager that is installed after flashing some kernels like Siyah.

Then try a different USB port or different system.
Currently stuck at the "Samsung Galaxy S II" logo during boot and it won't go past that. I can't seem to get into recovery mode, but I can access download mode.
I was using Shostock v3.0.2 (latest) and the Jeboo 1.3b Kernel.
SuperSU had an update and I accidentally pressed "twrp/cwm" instead of "normal" which made my phone reboot and has been stuck at the Samsung logo at boot up since then. When going into download mode, it shows that the current binary is "Samsung Official".
Would I have to use Kies to restore the phone back to factory or is there any other workarounds to get it to work again?
Thanks in advance!
You don't have to use Kies, but since it won't boot into recovery, you will have to load stock firmware. Your options are Kies if it will restore the phone, or, since you can get into download mode, flash the stock firmware with Odin.
If it were me, I would flash 4.0.4 UCLL6 plus root from the development forum using Odin3 v1.85, and then install Mobile Odin lite or Mobile Odin pro, and flash one of the custom kernels that are linked in the OP of that thread. Then you can load and flash SHOstock 3.0.2 again if you want.

Alright I will try out your recommendation and let you guys know how it turns out. Thanks for the quick reply. :good:
Alright I was able to flash back to stock 4.0.4 using your thread/guide. Will flash a custom kernel now.
Back to SHOstock again!
I had the same thing happen to me today.
I had to clear the cache on the phone and factory reset it after installing the 4.0.4 UCLL6 from creepyncrawly's sig.
It took 5 minutes or so after I did that of it sitting at the AT&T logo before the phone came up.
It sucked.
