iemi lost after cyano firmware - Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Flash with odin stock firmware - iemi ok
Flash with cyanomod - iemi lost
Any reasons for this? and the solution?

Flash rc4. Imei is not lost, just hidden. There is no problem with imei in rc4.

cheers I downloaded 3. 4 works fine.
But play store just brings up an error "...could not be download due to an error"

For the Play Store, i had no luck too, will try to reflash the rom asap.

Guys, check the rom's dev thread, someone had posted a very efficient method which worked for me

There is a thread floating around somewhere that explains how you can restore it if you didn't make a backup. But for the life of me I can't find it.
But it's definitely out there somewhere

I'm using the GT-I9300
I was told to flash to stock firmware but i am totally clueless to what stock firmware i should use as there are so many out there.
dude.. didn't u make a nandroid backup?
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda premium
nope, no backup was done.
I think its time for a paid repair
Use odin and restore to a 4.0.4 Firmware then reset flash counter and then update with kies to 4.1.1 and your imei should be back if it's not then return it to samsung/the place you bought it from and get a warrenty repair ( and what ever they just say u havent flashed it ever )
any idea to what 4.0.4 firmware i should flash it to.

Return it to Vodafone or Service Centre .

I have flashed my phone, but not root, is my phone in warranty or not any more?
And is that hardware of software problem?

Might not be a bad idea to hide parts of the IMEI and phone number next time.
Flash a full stock rom and see.

Im trying to odin to xxle8 which is what i had originally. but odin is saying the parameter is invalid. which firmware should i flash
Managed to flash by removing the .md5 of I9300XXALE8_I9300XSAALE6_XSA. Went into a bootloop so I did a factory reset and cache wipe, booted into the OS, still no service.
Then its not a software issue..
Maybe hardware

I know, didn't notice that the IMEI number and SN had been changed tho that's why I was running around in circles trying everything, next time I'll look at that first. I heard it was a common problem for the S3 so I made sure to do weekly FULL backups including an EFS backup (Thanks TWRP). Bit ****ty that I spent 3 days trying to fix something that ended up being fixed with a 4kb file and 5 seconds of work in recovery, eh, hope this thread may help someone one day, BACK UP YOUR FREAKING EFS RIGHT NOW. Everything is resolved and fixed, back to running Slim Bean like nothing ever happened, phew, thanks everyone for your help and I apologize for spamming the thread.

The easiest way to get your imei back is to flash stock Rom and back it up. So you can recover it on jellyblast. Thats how i did it.
Also go on rafael.baugis's kernel thread, then to his sky drive and download boot.img and modules for E3 recovery #2013...
Sent from my GT-S5830i
Is it just me or does it seem like everyone that flashes JellyBlast faces problems after? It must be the 4.1.1 firmware... :what:

Its 2.3.6 and the Rom doesn't include rafael's modules. That why everyone gets headphone bugs.
