About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
Features
Simply stated, we can't really list features here. There are too many and they change too frequently, and we now support a truly insane number of devices. Chances are, if you like a feature, we have it already. Seriously.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our G+ Community: http://community.carbon-rom.com This is where we spend the bulk of our time and the best way to reach us and other community members. We update and frequent this community far more than XDA, simply due to time constraints and the convenience of G+.
5) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Ok so I have downloaded this and must say it's the best imo 4.3 rom I've tried and I've tried them all. only couple things I've found so far are
when you set halo as reverse gesture, it double tap and can't be used, just moved.(in all 4.3 roms)
camera, gallery and focal can't be opened from boot but I know it can be fixed,I just can't do it (anyone?)
That's about it for now but will be keeping this for now and going to flash kangbang

Flashing in a minute. Will try mako laterlater
Very good so far. Some minor issues :
If you pull down notifications the clear all and the halo switch is not fully shown. They are cropped.
Of in landscape some off the menus are cropped some are fine
See pics.
Pretty smooth comes very near to Velocity on speed and smoothness.
You have some really nice wallpapers. Will backup the app with tb, so I can use it on other roms.
Just had a framework error on trickster.
Will test it a bit further. But cause i am more a vanilla type I will switch back to a slimmer rom.
But anyway thx for your hard work to bring us flashers something new to play with.
Nice, thanks a lot! AOSP right? (to flash a custom kernel).
Awesome rom! Got it on hammerhead! Thanks for the work!

Very strange, none of our devs have even had a single random reboot throughout the entire dev process for the OPO. Try a clean flash, ensure you are using an up to date gapps, and do not use a custom kernel theme or dpi and see if it still occurs
Great to see Carbon here, one of the best out there!
For now the only bug for me is DSP manager FC's at the start of every song when playing music.
But this ROM is extremely smooth as it always has been on my N5 and one X.
Edit: just out of curiosity, what battery icons are you using as base? In CM I can use xposed mod tinted status bar but with this ROM it's like this:

Clean Flashed in multirom, no custom kernel or theme, no dpi changed and latest modular full gapps. Had 5/6 hotboots in 20 mins other than that rom is beautifull and smooth. Nothing in last kmsg?
Gonna try with another gapps package.

Hello @gtpitch,
Thanks a lot for the wonderful work.
Glad to see OP2 getting the dev community support with another great ROM.
Cheers!
For others running this rom,
Can this be used as daily driver? Since this is the only phone I've got.
Does VoLTE work?
Thanks
Some initial feedbacks
No way to invert software button
There is no menu for the one plus commit (to define the notification slider)
Double tape to wake option is present but need kernel auditor to work
New build is up https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767139920
The enable navigation bar option works now and is moved to advanced options under buttons.
The sim settings crash and Google assistant crash are fixed.
Next up will be the ability to swap the hardware buttons, define longpress options on software keys and a menu to control and reverse slider actions.

Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub...
Disclaimer:
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! These builds are experimental and can contain Bugs (as listed above). Make sure to do backups.
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
5) Please keep bugreports to this thread or Discord. Do NOT create a Jira ticket. This is still in early development so we don't accept any bugreports yet.
Requirements:
You should start off with the latest Stock ROM, flash the ARM64 variant of TWRP, and then proceed to flash Carbon.

is occupied as 64 gb and displayed as 128 gb total size
thanks for this rom, i remember back when i used it in its kitkat days and loved it
I use this Rom and i am happy thx carbon Rom team
Does the camera work properly in this ROM?
the internal one doesn't go yet whatsapp Kamara goes, streetview kamara goes only one picture after that none more, moto kamara crashes
Hey officer, ROM works great! Also: please tell Randy to put on a shirt.
Somewhat quick update (though I should post this in a way to be more visible)....
Carbon's infra has suffered another hardware failure over a week ago. Replacement hosting had been sought and initial setup has been done, but we still need recovery of the old systems to make everything flow again - that part has been tough.
The next weekly is looking more like next month now. However if in the meantime there are device related updates (I have been trying to figure out the encryption issue), I shall post them as unofficial.
Any questions about this situation and/or plan, please reach out to me in this thread (mention), or as a PM (please note, PM's not related to this may not get answered).
Cheers.
