Hey,
Can anyone tell me if how to build CM10.1 for the new device if it has already 100% working CM10?
Please give me some tips or link to any tutorial about merging branch from CM10 to CM10.1.
Please give me anything I can start with. This is the last year I can spend time on learning android developement so I would like to start working with source

I want to begin development on a new rom but I'm kind of a newb with this development junk :/

I made a working AOSP build years ago, wasn't that hard, probably easier now.
I'd suggest starting with stock aosp (see above) then trying to build using the Cyanogenmod source.
Hi
I did compile my own CM ROMs for Maguro with no Problems. Last week I got my Nexus 4, mako.
Now I want to creat my CM ROM for mako, but I have a small Problem.
Here is what I did.
I did sync my Repo and it works for Maguro. But not for Mako.
I think I need the vendor files, so I can compile
I did read a lot of post about that, but I donĀ“t really get it. could please be someone so kind to help me out here.
Thanks a lot
i really appreciate it
Hi all devs for P7510:
I'm following guides all over the place in my attempt to learn a thing or two by building AOSP ICS (specifically the 4.0.4_r1 branch) from source. I know that Google states building anything other than master on a version of Ubuntu higher than 11.10 is experimental and not really supported - seen many Google Groups threads indicating this. I've been able to patch and fix some of the errors that I'm seeing, but others that I'm searching for are answered with links back to the AOSP website where it's simply saying building anything other than the master branch on Ubuntu 12.xx is not officially supported.
I am getting ready to re-do my dev environment with Ubuntu 10.04 to see if that really does make a difference somehow, but had a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone can answer as I get ready to try again.
1) Has anyone out there built AOSP 4.0.4, from a branch other than master, successfully for the P7510 device?
2) If so, with what version of Ubuntu/Linux and were there many errors encountered when compiling that required fixes via manual code revision rather than simply applying a missing dependency or toolchain fix?
I've searched high and low and it's proving particularly difficult to find info on whether or not someone has been able to build a non-master branch of AOSP ICS 4.0.4 for this particular device. I know I could just abandon it and try to build JB or something instead but really want to see if I can pull this off. Hoping someone out there can help me out!
Update: I was able to complete a build today!! Please disregard the questions, self answered.

Hey guys,
So, I'm not a dev, but I'm dying for a port of CM9 for the P769. In the Original Android Development forum, there appears to be someone working on CM10, which is great and all, but we actually stand a chance of getting all the hardware working under CM9.
Just out of curiosity, I meandered over to LG's open source website and -- lo and behold -- quite clearly I see the source available for not just the P769BK, but other variants as well. I downloaded it, and it even includes instructions for building.
So... is this not the source we need for a CM port? Please, strike down my ignorance and let me know what's up.

That is what we need and the dev has it. We have a good chance of CM10 working because the source is available. So there is no big push for CM9.

Excellent! I was under the impression that devs needed 4.1 sources from the manufacturer to build fully functional CM10 images. The more you know!

I'm not the most knowledgable about rom development and such, but it seems that if at least Android 4.0 source is available for a certain device, then it may be easier for devs to bring JB to that device and/or build a fully working JB rom for it.
Was doing some poking around myself today and noticed that LGP769BK(Optimus L9)_Android_JB_P769v20d.zip
was up on the LG open source page. Was able to DL it and upload to dev-host if they pull it down later but its listed there for now.
Don't know if I'm late to the game or not but I didn't find anything during my real brief search that it had been noticed yet

I want to learn how to build CM 10.2 from source, I have followed the thread on here how to but am having difficulty with erroring out during the build. I am building on an old P.O.S. Dell Inspiron. When it errors out and freezes how do I start troubleshooting what went wrong? Is there a build log, or error log that I can look at to see what the possible reasons are. I am not a developer I am a noob....very green but I want to learn. Even if someone gives a link for me to RTFM I am ok with that. I only found build instructions but nothing to help me troubleshoot.
Thank you for any help. I really appreciate any arrows in the right direction.
got it
Never mind. Got one built. Now time to test.
Cm 10.2
Second time I build Cyanogen 10.2. Running decent. I am no where close to being a dev, but I enjoy learning about it.
I can at least make my own builds now.
JaimeD81
If you are interested in building CyanogenMod 10.2 JaimeD81's post is awesome.
Followed it and started building and now running my own builds on my device.
I hate that you have to post 10 times before you can ask questions in the thread.
I want more things to read so I can learn how to add/remove items from the builds.
If any devs out there see this please post links or give reference material for me to read.
Thank you
