Rooting permission denied even with Exfat format - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Followed instructions by formatting card to Exfat and putting extracted exploit files in the card's root directory. However when I ran the terminal commands, I got permission denied.

What to do? Does it matter that I took the OTA update before attempting to root?

Are you absolutely positive it's exFAT? From the rooting thread that would be a cause. I'd double check the format.

might get more answer if posted in correct section, Q + A.

I'm 100% sure. I chose Exfat from the menu on my computer.

What size is your SD card?

Guess what: I pulled the battery and now I'm rooted. Omg!

Downloading Movies from the PlayStore

When I purchase a movie, does a complete file download to my phone? Or, is it something that I can stream from my account only?
I would like to place it on my computer as well.

You can stream it or, if you tap on the pin icon, it will download to your device.

Thank you, Bill. Do you know if I'd be able to transfer to my computer?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I haven't tried that, but I'm guessing that due to the security Google uses that it won't work. Try it and post the results here so others will know.

Will do.

if your SD card is fat32 the file size limit is 4GB.
exfat and NTFS will accommodate bigger file sizes but will not work on some devices.
I recall reading something about exfat being the preferred choice as I believe NTFS doesn't work on Android. That's not confirmed information, just off the top of my head.
That file was 2GB

Micro sd card on cm10.1

First of all I am sorry, if I am supposed to posting it without searching. I searched but I could not find my answers.
I want to install a cm10.1 rom on my s3. Now the thing of concern is that will my SD card support the rom? I mean How do I know in which format my SD card is and How I can make it work with cm10.1?
format it into FAT32

It means I have to do this via my pc using a card reader.
Unless your recovery formats to fat32

move apps to sd option missing?

After oreo 8.0 update I no longer seem to have the option to move apps to sd card. I have a class 10 Samsung 64 gig card that will be of minimal use. Am I missing something or was this another functionality removed in this wonderful new version?
Still there.

Not for me. This one was on sd prior to update. And its not letting me post a screenshot?

Looks like the developer has marked that version of the app as not movable. I installed it on my phone and I get the same result. I checked with AppMgr Pro III, and it shows it as "Phone Only".
So it's the app, not the OS upgrade at fault.
