Virgin Mobile USA is a CDMA provider (uses Sprint's network) and thus does not support GSM devices (the ones that use SIM cards).
Basically, you buy a phone; activate it via MEID; and add airtime with a card.
In short the Lumia uses a SIM card and will only work on a network that uses a SIM card as well.

My girlfriend bought a T-mobile HTC radar off craigslist and It wouldn't read a T-mobile sim card. Which I though was weird. So I bought a unlocked code and unlocked it with my AT&T sim card. The phone will work with the AT&T sim card but not with a t-mobile sim card. I've try a contract and pre-paid T-mobile sim and nothing. I went to T-mobile and got a brand new sim card and still nothing. Like I said if I put my AT&T sim in the phone it work fine. Can some one please help me to get this phone to read a t-mobile sim. I though once you unlocked it you could use any carrier that use a sim card.

I don't think so. I regularly bounce between T-Mobile and AT&T with all my unlocked phones. The only limiting factor is the radio and the data bands that it receives. And, of course the Radar was made for T-Mo. Mine has always been great there.
Now, there are two versions of the phone. The US version is simply called the Radar and can use either T-Mobile or AT&T's networks. The international version is model C110E and called either the Radar or the Omega. It will work on AT&T, but it does not have the T-Mobile bands. It is made for data networks in Europe and it additional bands for Asia. The antenna configuration is different in the two phones.
Does your Radar say "T-Mobile" in the top right corner? Is it possible that you have the C110E?
I got a unlocked code and it works on my at&t sim card but not a T-Mobile one. I've try contact and prepaid sim cards. Nothing! I got a new sim card and nothing! It a T-Mobile HTC radar. It should work on T-Mobile but it don't. A Friend of mine said T-Mobile has lock the phone from there end. I got the unlocked code and it works with at&t sim but not T-Mobile. I don't like the windows one. I've unlocked 3 mytouch, 4 SGII and a galaxy note. This has been a pain in the ass from day one. If u think of a idea let me know it won't hurt.

Maybe the IMEI has been blocked by Tmo? Call and find out.
Hi. I am from canada and travelling to usa...i need data there (to be more specific, i'm gonna use my atrix as a mobile hotspot). What are my options for a prepaid sim? At&T? T-mobile?...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. (i'm going for 5 days..about 1gb would be good)..but 500mb might do as well.
Not sure if this helps but you could go to straighttalksim.com. I use it on my atrix

and i live in Malaysia...with prepaid SIM...

AT&T and smaller operators running on AT&T like Straighttalk work perfectly. T-Mobile and smaller operators running off them will work, but you'll only get Edge data. Verizon and Sprint, and any operators running off their networks are CDMA and wont work at all.

I have this Chinese Quad Band Phone, that recognizes my T-Mobile USA SIM Card, but shows no network...
All settings for T-Mo Access Point are correct, but error while searching for Network.

Here is another funny thing...I traveled from USA to Portugal...
Same phone, same T-Mo USA SIM Card, works fine on Portugal Optimus Network.
Same phone, same T-Mo USA SIM Card...doesn't register on T-Mo USA..

Yes, you can use a GSM SIM in it. It's unlcocked.
Read it this way:
LTE, unlocked, sim free phone ...
LTE -- capable of using the fastest wireless data network, and it also supports the slower networks (like GSM)
unlocked -- it is not forces to use a particular carrier, like Rogers or AT&T
sim free -- the phone does not come with a sim card (that is for a particular carrier) and you have to purchase one to use the phone, the AT&T phones come with an AT&T sim

I am having an unlocked version of Nokia Lumia 920 AT&T (white) which was just working fine in US. When I moved to India and inserted an Indian SIM card, my phone is not able to connect to cellular network and also when I try to search for available networks manually, it shows nothing. It seems that phone is able to detect the SIM as it shows all the SIM applications. (I have tried multiple SIMs from different providers but nothing works)
Is anything else is required apart from unlocking to be able to successfully use the phone in India? Will flashing the phone will help?

What frequency does your India provider use? If it is not 850 and 1900 then you will not be able to use this phone.

Thanks! Frequency band in India is 900/1800.
How to unlock your device, used AT&T unlock code?I was unlocked with AT&T unlock code.
Now,it's working fine with China Unicom SIM when I'm in China.
