I had just enabled the "bill to T-mobile" option when the next day it had disappeared. Thank you for your suggestion, that fixed it!

I forgot to add that after I cleared the data for the Play Store and Framework Services, I immediately did a full reboot (not soft) and then opened the Play Store app again. Then it was working for me.

Make sure the build.prop has these lines:
Code:
ro.com.google.clientidbase=android-htc
ro.com.google.clientidbase.yt=android-htc
ro.com.google.clientidbase.am=android-tmobile-us
ro.com.google.clientidbase.gmm=android-htc
ro.com.google.clientidbase.ms=android-hms-tmobile-us
If not add them to the end of the build.prop

I lost my "Bill to T-Mobile" option again after updating to ARHD 13.3 and the initial fix of clearing Play Store cache and prefs didn't seem to bring it back, but making your suggested changes to the build.prop file worked perfectly. Thank you!

Can you please tell this noob where to find this file to modify it?

The build.prop file is located in the /system/ directory. But you can't see that directory unless you're rooted, and you have to use a root file browser app. I use ROM Toolbox Pro (from the Play Store), which has a really easy-to-use "build.prop Editor" (with auto backup) under the Performance tab. Or you could just use any root file browser to navigate to /system/ and edit build.prop. Always make a backup of the file before editing it. Even minor mistakes can prevent your device from properly booting and you can then use recovery file manager to replace mucked-up build.prop with your backed-up copy.
Here is another good thread about editing build.prop. Worth a read. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1948558
Good luck, and let me know if you have any other questions about this.

Angry Birds not showing up in market

Is it just me, or did angry birds (but not seasons) disappear from the market with the recent update?
Edit: it is showing up now, after a to restore, but wont update to the latest version.

'Seasons' shows, but same here, no regular version. Just wiped clean with stock ROM and up'ed to 1.1 and autonootered. No OC kernel.
Whatever our nooks are showing up as are not likely compatible with the newest version of angry birds. You can see it on the online market but shows that it is only compatible with your phone but not your nook. I think that unless a compatability change is made to include these devices its going to stay that way.
If you update angry birds on your phone you may notice that it now requires a couple of new permissions.
-Receive SMS, read SMS or MMS
-Send SMS messages
Leaving the wtf factor for other threads, the important thing relevant to us is that the nook can't do sms and the market is likely filtering out the app based on that.

Apparently, the sms permissions were a mistake:
The SMS permissions is just a error… calm down @anderwebs @skcseth @sigthief @packfanjason we are not using sms, just mistake in some permission file. Will get it sorted Monday. half a minute ago via Twitter for iPad in reply to anderwebs (directly from Rovio’s Twitter [Rovio = Developers of Angry Birds] http:// twitter.com/roviomobile )

One thing I have noticed is that sometimes an app doesn't appear in the Market because the Market doesn't "think" it's compatible with your hardware. The solution for me is to use AppBrain Market Sync to find the App. Then, click the Market button within AppBrain the you'll go right to the download link within the Market.
You can still sideload it.

You can find a link to the latest angry birds here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942486
Or, just get it from getjar.com:

This might be an issue if you removed the phone.apk and telephony.provider.apk
if you restore the 2 apps then open setting, applications, manage applications, all. clear market cache and force close market. Clear data for googleframework and force stop. Reboot. All should be well

That's my problem...I have those renamed and shutdown. I went on the web version of Market and it siad the AB was 'Installed'...perhaps from a previous install.
I read an article about the company enabling SMS for in-game purchases being tried out in (I think) Finland.....with US coming by summer if all goes well.
Thanks for the catch!

FYI,I am using 1.0.1 Rooted with no additional customization yet I can't manage to find Angry Birds on the Market. Except Angry Birds Seasons..

Sideloading wouldn't work for me....crashes on startup.
Annoying, but if you change the device Fingerprint, stop the Services Framework and the Market Framework and clear the cache, then reboot, you can see the Apps.
I confirmed this works.
using adb grab the build.prop from /system on the device, replacing it with an appropriate device string (google for one you'd liek to use..the one below is for a droid.
$ adb pull /system/build.prop
Open the file with a Linux friendly editor (Notepad++ for the Windows users). Find the line starting with ro.build.fingerprint and change the whole line to
ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.2.1/FRG83D/75603:user/release-keys
$ adb shell mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mmcblk1p2 /system
$ adb push build.prop system/
$ adb shell mount -o remount,ro /dev/block/mmcblk1p2 /system
Now clear the Market cache and reboot.
Settings -> Manage Applications -> All -> Market
Clear Cache then Force Stop -- DO NOT clear data
Settings -> Manage Applications -> All -> Google Services Framework
Clear data then Force Stop
Reboot

[Q] Remove app from Android Market 'My Library'

So I use the Amazon app store and GetJar for free 'paid' apps. Some of these apps are showing up in "My Library" on my Google Android Market account. Is there a way to remove them from the Android Market account?
One recent problem is Wave Launcher which used to be free on GetJar. I don't see it listed anymore on GetJar and I can't even buy it from the Android Market since it thinks it's already purchased (but declines the 'install' saying it's not purchased). A 'delete' button like in the Amazon app store library would solve all of this...
Short of changing google accounts, I don't see any options on how to fix this. Anyone have any ideas? The problem is on my market library, not my phone (I know how to remove market links, etc.). Thanks.
I to have this problem its very annoying their has to be a way to clean it up.
I actually used the 'report' app function on the google market and got a reply back. They have "forwarded your case to a specialist to begin working to resolve your issue as soon as possible". We'll see what comes of it. Amazon's app store has a simple delete button in that library. It doesn't seem like that would be too hard to implement.
did you ever get a reply for this?
would love to be able to remove all the apps i just simply try for the sake of testing and i want them gone.....

I believe Titanium Backup can do this if you are rooted.

On the website I don't see an option, but it is possible on your phone.
I am not sure if all versions of the play store have this option (I am using Jelly Bean 4.1.2):
When I open the play store on my phone I can remove previous installed apps from the list.
Go to: Play Store > My Apps > All
There you can remove an app by tapping the Ø icon

Yeahp. It works.
I deleted some yesterday on my mobile, but they were still on my web "Other apps in my library".
Today, I deleted some again and reloaded the webpage. They disappeared.
Thanks for the tip.
Ok, maybe it needs some time to sync. Great it works!

[Q] Unfortunately Google play has stopped working. After installing an app! HELP

So I have the pirate bay app on my AT&T htc one running stock jellybean. I cam across an app called Google play modded. Which I thought meant I can go in and customize the Google play store and delete the bloatware that come with the phone, but I found out that It was something totally different. So I went to uninstall it from the app drawer and It deleted the whole Google play store. I downloaded and apk file from some website which fixed it. but after rebooting I got this error. I then went to titanium backup and wiped the data. It fixed the crashes but now I for some reason am running the modded Google play app again. I deleted Google play services and google play app. rebooted my phone. It removed the modded Google play store and fixed everything, but whenever I try downloading an app It breaks everything.
I'm running Jelly bean 4.2.2 on stock android. HTC one.
Thanks for your help in advance.

[Q] [Solved] play store not working

Ok so I was using lucky patcher yesterday and I did a patch. my google play didn't connect to the internet after that, so I Deleted the play store completely (yes I have a rooted android) then I downloaded a play store apk here at xda I installed it and still it wouldn't connect, after that I did a factory reset thinking it would give me the android default play store but it didn't. My android had no trace of a play store. So I was getting aggravated and ticked off. I then downloaded a new play store here at xda, and then when I open play store it just crashes. I've done a lot to fix it but no luck. I've added a # in the hosts file and it worked for like a couple second and crashed again. I added 2 # and it worked (Example below) until I tried to download an app.
#127.0.0.1 localhost
#127.229.35.136 android.clients.google.com mtalk.google.com
Any solutions

Not all Play Store versions are the same, nor do they work with every version of android. You need the correct one for your phone and software version. Without knowing these, it's kind of hard to suggest anything further. But did you use Lucky Patcher to mod the Play Store or to block ads? That usually causes these issues.

Your best bet would be to find someone else with your phone that is rooted and then they can share their version with you. Doesn't seem to be any custom roms or much for your phone so can't just download the rom and grab the apk from it like most phones. How were you trying to install the other versions you found?
All I did was install it.
Play store works sometimes if I put 2 # in front of the ip's but once I download something it crashes and I'm back to square 1

I think you can use LP to undo that patch as well. But you should still install the Play Store in the system. That's where it belongs and needs special permissions for everything to function properly.
I don't see anything about unpatching the patch

Android unninstalling App without my permission

Hello,
I have a pixel XL updated to the android beta, and I wanted to donwload the Google news app. This app is not available in my country so I went to a repository and downloaded an APK. I installed it, and everything works as usual, the app is running smoothly, but when I close it and leave the phone idle for a few minutes the APP dissapears from the launcher. If I try to install it again the phone tells me that is already installed and I can update it, if I do that the app appears again on the launcher and I can use it again.
Can anyone help me with this? should I block permissions for Google Play services (I think that is what is messing with my apps)? or it is possible to install something to prevent this? maybe a modded apk?

Obviously the app is not available in your country through the play store. The play store has that function where it verifies apps which I think is called Play Protect. Of you opted in, it could be that.

That is because the location of you play store is still set to your country, you have to change it in options. I can't do that because I have credit in the play store and doing so will take it away
