I follow this guide completely

The only problem is that i don't have service (TELUS) wich is quite why I have a cell phone
I try to flash the telus modem, didn't change anything.
I reset all setting including darlik (something like that)...
My IMEI is still not showing too.
Hope someone can help me out.
Thanks.
do you see any networks when you go to Settings > Wireless and network > Network operators ?
Didn't have this problem when I tried out CM7 on my t959d
When I go to setting/ system/mobile network settings /network operators
I received a error message saying: error while searching for networks.
I cannot roll-back since my download mode is not working.
Thanks.

what do you mean your download mode is not working? key-combo doesn't work for you? does miui/gingerbread not have soft-reboot to download mode?
i was able to access dl mode fine on cm7 via hard button (volume- and power on phone model screen, release power button before boot animation starts )
I had this problem repeatedly, I ended up copying my efs folder from my rooted stock and then deleted the folder in CM7 and paste the backup copy. I had to do it every time I flashed back to stock.
Please, Please, HELP ME !!!
I looked all over this forum and on the net to try to find a solution to my problem, but I couldn't find anything that relates to this issue.
When I go into Mobile Networks/Network Operators, the phone starts to search for available networks. When the search is complete, I select the network I want and then I get the following message: "Unable to select Network/Select Automatically. Unable to connect.Try again later." The only way I can connect to my provider is to reboot the phone. Because of this, I am unable to use my phone in roaming either. It looks like my phone fails to connect to any mobile networks manually.
When I put the SIM in a different phone, the error is gone, so the problem should be with my phone. Could it be a modem or a ROM issue? Don't know.
The phone is rooted, with Android 2.3.5, Baseband: I9100XXKI4. Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XXKI4-CL611039 [email protected] #2.
Please help me. All help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Already tried to change modem/
wipe the hell out of your phone/
reflash the Rom?
Almost always helps
Set network APN manually do not use search /auto and see what happens .
That can be followed by backup of data and factory reset .
You can also check you have correct CSC for network/location .
Next would be to flash another modem KI1 for choice through Odin or from the zipped modems post through CWM .
Modems

All Fails you can do the following this will bring the phone to an acceptable warranty return state if it does not cure the problem .
....................................
Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .
Still problems use usb jig to set rom counter to zero .
Return to service centre .

Thank you jje,
My current CSC is this: I9100OXAKI4.
My location/network is this: Romania/Vodafone
Roaming in Hungary for example still does not work. Could the CSC be wrong?
Thank you

I will try to find a new firmware with the right CSC and flash my phone again. Any quick links you might know would be much appreciated.
Then, I will check later today if roaming works and will get back here with the results.
Thank you again

I had the similar problem since last week: The sgs2 has been working with local operator Telia for about 4 months and suddenly it could not register on the network after I have set it to airplane mode several times
I put 3 other sims from the same operator in my sgs2, all of them do not work, and they all working fine in other phones
I put 2 sims from 2 other operators in my sgs2, they all working fine
So it seems this sgs2 only does not work within Telia's network, but I gave Telia support my IMEI number, they say that number is not locked or blocked in their network
I tried manually select network from the list, but get immediately back a notification saying "unable to select network", not like in a working phone, it takes several seconds before getting a confirmation from the network
So I guess some old denying answer from Telia is cached in the phone, and everytime phone send the register request, the cached denying answer is read. unless I can clearout this cache, there is no way to get registered with Telia
I went forward to wipe/factory reset/flash another rom&modem, all did not help. I guess these cache information is not changeble through normal flashing process, maybe in EFS area or somewhere else
Anyone can help?

I'm sure this is not your situation but my provider was down for the days but when I called support they swore everything was fine and trouble shooted my phone.for what ever reason their Sim showed every provider in my area as them.(as it in network search all providers looked like my provider). While the phone tried to connect to the other providers it was rejected as "unable to register on network"error. I did not figure out out until I checked network search with a different provider Sim and my network provider was no where to be found until they got the system back up in my area.

Thanks, I always flash stock roms and csc for the phone, and tried twice, I believe the data which caused the problem could not be touched by the flash process
Now I put another SIM from telenor in the sgs2 and try to manually select the Telia network, it took more than 30 seconds and returned a message saying "unable to select network, select automatically", and then it select home network (telenor) successfully
However, if I manually select other non-home network (3, tele2 etc... ), it took about 5 seconds to get that message
So, I think that 30 seconds waiting actually is a system timeout period, there is no communication to/from Telia network during this period
The strange thing is that even reflash the rom/kernel/modem do not improve the situation, where did the android system store the settings of network operators so that even a full flash of the phone can not clear it?
I'm going to do some adb logging today to see what is actually happening there...
"Unable To Register on network"
I have a really annoying but strange issue I cant make phone calls or send and receive text messages but I can browse the internet.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 which im sure is sim unlocked 100% sure. It has been working ok up until recently something has changed but Ill be dammed if I know.
I am using 3ITA sim
Im running the stock ROM ..I tried to re-root the phone but this did not work.
I have done a factory reset this has not worked.
If I take the sim out of the S3 and put in into another galaxy s3 it works fine. I can make and receive phone calls.
But soon as I put it back in the S3 it says "Unable to regsiter on network" so it HAS to be the S3 but im sure it is sim unlocked!
I tried similar to this: (But when I got to network lock it says on my S3 (MENU NOT EXIST PRESS BACK KEY Current command is 186) what does this mean???
================================================== ============================
"Put in a different SIM card to the one you use with your carrier.
Switch the device off and on again with the SIM card in place.
Open your dial pad and then type in *#197328640#.
Go to Main Menu > [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3]Perso SHA256 OFF > and wait 30 seconds or so.
Then hit Menus and choose Back. You should now see Network Lock. Then choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ."
Please can someone help !!
Hi
I had the same problem a few days ago. Really annoying.
What i tried was the following:
It happend after having flashed cm-10.1-20130211-NIGHTLY-I9300.zip
It stayed like that after having flashed cm-10.1-20130208-NIGHTLY-I9300.zip
It was solved having flashed cm-10.1-20130129-NIGHTLY-I9300.zip, GAPPS and having wiped Dalvik cache, cache and i wiped back to factory.

Well, I just had this probleme again.
Don't know what is happening.
This time it was with the cm-10.1-20130303-NIGHTLY-I9300 but it persisted through cm-10.1-20130311-NIGHTLY-I9300. Full wipe solved it for me.

Here are the symptoms:
When going into the network settings and pressing choose a network operator, it says "Error while searching for network"
If I select "choose network automatically", it says "registered on network" but nothing changes.
When I tried to make an emergency call, for example, it tells me to turn off Airplane mode. However, if I scroll down the notification bar, Airplane mode is OFF.
In About Phone> SIM Status>:
Network - Unknown
Network type - Unknown
Service state - Radio Off
Signal Strength - 0dBm 99asu
Network State - Disconnected.
IMEI IS THERE. NOT CORRUPT.
Dialing *#*#4636#*#*
Will not let me change preferred network type.
Pressing Turn On Radio does nothing.
Neither does updating smsc.
I did what anyone with common sense and a little research would do.
Reboot phone
Remove/insert sim
Tried my dad's sim, which is on a different carrier.
Tried slot 2 as well
Wiped cache partition
Then as a last resort, full hard reset. I have wiped dalvik, system, data, user data and cache.
...But to no avail.
Restore qcn from other device still not fix error
Restore qcn from other device still not fix error
Maybe you need to update baseband firmware
I can't get the data connection to work at all, and it won't even connect to a 4g network even when the signal is strong. Mine is a H930DS (Joan?)
I just reinstalled the stock pie using "H93031a_00_OPEN_EU_OP_1105.zip", I installed in TWRP. I followed the instructions on the first page of this thread .....
I have tried various custom roms on this phone but this stock pie is one of the very few that even recognizes the sim card. I settled on stock pie inspite of the bloatware.
The problem happens when the rom is brand new, before ANYTHING is disabled or removed.
When I choose to search for a Network Operator (using the 3 Network sim) I get a "3 RAT-4G" and a "3 RAT-3G" listed and it will never connect to the 4G if I choose that one. It will only connect to the 3G. Even when the signal is very strong (5 bars). When I opt to connect to the 3G network then I get a stronger signal if I choose "GSM/WCDMA auto" in "settings>>network>>mobile netwroks>>network mode" but still no data connection
THESE DIDN'T HELP
1 - using ADB and restarting the phone in bootloader. It was to reset the modem I think. There was a series of 3 commands to follow. i can't remember the details of this method but I think one of the commands included "fastboot erase modemst2". I tried it and I was getting the same error message that other people reported and it didn't go anywhere.
2 - The following solution didn't work either..............
"re-loading IMS settings using the LG Hidden menu: Dial *#546368#*930# using the stock dialer -> Field Test -> IMS Setting -> Test -> Load Preset Configuration -> Initialize Configuration. Then back out twice to Field Test -> IMS Setting -> Test -> Restart IMS process. Give it a few minutes."
3 - Resetting network settings didn't help either (Settings -> General -> Reset -> Network settings reset).
4 - Changing APN, or network bands (in settings ... choosing "LTE/GSM/WCDMA auto" or "GSM/WCDMA auto" or "WCDMA only")
5 - Changing "set preffered network type" in engineering mode settings (accessing using *#*#4636#*#*)
How can I use data connection on my H930DS?
Data modem works now!
SOLVED!
My phone has bootloader unlocked and TWRP revcovery. That's obvious I know but I only say it again in case anyone tries this with a locked bootloader and using a stock rom that has never been flashed. (I have to warn you that your results will be different, your rom will be reset for sure an your data will be wiped).
I tried so many things, flashing up and down from 8 to 10 but Stock Pie was always the least buggy for me so I persevered with that.
I think this solution reset the hardware, but I am no expert.
The solution is basically a "Factory Reset (R&D Only)". They warn you against it but with my configuration all it did was reboot the phone into recovery and then left it for me to decide what to flash or wipe, as per usual. What I only realized later, when I rebooted into system (without changing anything in TWrP) was that it had reset the hardware, or reactivate data connectivity. NowI have 3g data connection and 4g connection.
THE SOLUTION
*the following 4 lines are a direct quote (my phone's os DID NOT reset)
1) Backup everything, as the phone will be wiped. If yours is a network unlocked carrier model, make sure you have an unlock code (or unlock approval if T-Mobile).
2) Remove your Google account to disable Android Device Reset Protection.
3) Dial *#546368#*930# (replace 930 with your model number). This should open the service menu. From there SVC Menu - Factory Reset (R&D Only).
This takes quite a bit longer than normal Factory Reset. Your phone is now TRULY back to factory state.
I took out the sim and sd card before I committed to the reset. But like I said, it didn't wipe anything (maybe it would have wiped my sd card but I am not testing that). It just booted into recovery and when I rebooted into system I found that the data connection was working. Now finally it is a smartphone!
