I use DropBox and Camera Upload, which saves me time when i want to transfer pics to PC from my XU . I don't have to attach USB cable, the photos are just both on my phone and PC, also online, so i can view them everywhere .
Beside that i use DropBox because XU doesn't have much free storage space

I didn't use much but in case for sharing, I use mediafire

Thanks! Just signed up. Seems to run fairly smooth. And I don't think I'll ever used 50gb. (First post, w00t! - lol)
i saw this on over at techspot. that is one hell of a bargain (free!!) but i just singed up for dropbox a week ago and am kinda hesitant
It needs to read my contact data? No thanx, I have 3 terabytes here at home that I can access from anywhere.
10MB file upload cap though
Eh I never saw the point in these net data boxes. The only thing I could think of needing that much space for is music, but I stream mine from Google music.
50GB for free is still insane regardless of needs.

Exactly what I thought it would be the most useful for, then saw the upload cap...kinda makes the file sharing somewhat limited if you can't upload large files that would make this truly a bargain! Now, if the cap were huge like several gigs- useful for folders and such...

Acutally, it's 100mb. For most people, this should be a problem. For me, I had one or two that didn't upload because of them going over the size limit, but still, 50gb free is great.
I also have DropBox and they have removed all their upload caps. Unlimited size, but you don't get the 50gb free.
You can download their latest app for the droid and I believe you can get up to 3 extra gbs when you allow the app to upload from your droid when you take pictures or shoot videos. So, for every 512mb you upload, you get an extra 512mb. You can keep doing that until you gain an extra 3gb and then they won't add anymore.
I did email Box.net to let them know that I love the 50gb I had via the LG promotion, but Dropbox had recently removed their upload cap limit for free users and it would be nice if Box.net would do the same. Not sure if they'll respond.
Anyways, it's a nice deal.
Honestly, I believe this is in the wrong section, sure it could be an app, but it's general/offtopic

I like mediafire. Easy and simple. Don't share too many files and I just keep my music on my laptop/Google music so I don't need extra storage.

Just saw your reply
You've got a good point, I don't really share access to my storage outside of a very small group of friends. I suppose if we're talking about sharing files like themes or sbf files, these services certainly have their place. But still, it would make me feel much better if their apk's didn't request access to my private data, i.e. contacts...or if they at least gave me the option to turn off the services which require such access. Basically, I just want a choice...
Don't mean to sound paranoid or anything, I'm just a big GNU guy and a Richard-Stallman-like fan of privacy and freedom.

With all apps like drop box and Bitcasa they have public and private folders, so you can choose what to share and what to keep private.

Dropbox or box.com account?

Which is better? Pros and cons on both?
Honestly the only different I see is I have 50 gigs on box and 2.5 on dropbox

Well for starters, Dropbox has a lower free storage space but you can upload files of any size to it. Box on the other hand has a 100MB upload limit per file.
The main reason I don't use Box, though I have 50 GB (and the 100 MB limit is decent enough for stuff like photos and music) is because there's no desktop client for the computer. It's all on phones and tablets only and the web interface. Dropbox has an awesome desktop client and it's just too easy to copy a file into the Dropbox folder on my computer and see it appear on my phone. With Box I'd have to upload it via the web interface :\
Those are the two main differences between the two, and quite big ones at that. Other stuff isn't that big a deal, but sharing files from Dropbox with their new direct link feature is too convenient.
In terms of pure functionality and convenience, Dropbox is the best cloud storage service right now. Apart from these, I use Windows Live Skydrive and Google Drive too, both of which have desktop clients similar to Dropbox. In order of usefulness (for me), I'd say Dropbox>Windows Live SkyDrive>Google Drive>Box.
You can get upto 6 GB of space in your Dropbox for free (not counting the 500 MB you get everytime someone uses your referral link to sign up). This only works in Windows - create a folder on a pen drive with a bunch of photos and images of around 3 GB size, then put it in your computer and wait for Autoplay to pop-up, choose 'Import photos to Dropbox' and let it upload all the photos. You'll get 3GB extra free space for using the camera upload feature (it increases space in steps of 500 MB so you need to wait till the entire 3GB uploads).
Also go to the 'Get free space!' link on top of the Dropbox website to get ~500 MB more space.
Hope this helped.

Google Drive vs Dropbox

Discuss...
I hate that you cant browse out to you "Off-line" documents on Google Drive on your phone of tablet.... or I haven't found a way to do that... without digging into all the nesting...
does dropbox allow you to use i.e. ES File explorer and set pictures as wallpapers or save documents to your SDCard etc?
ES file explorer added support for GDrive so that helps with browsing files.
it has ??? Damn i didnt know... thanks !
hit the thanks button...

How do you claim your free 23GB from HTC? i cant seem to find it anywhere...
EDIT: Nevermind.... thanks all! i think DB wins...
Create a account make sure to log in on a comp n then log in to dropbox on the phone
Gunna have to go with drop box. Especially if you have to share files. Google drive just isn't as intuitive with file sharing like drop box is. For me I have to share .zips for themes and Google drive just doesn't cut it. Drop box ftw. However if you have something with a ton if traffic... good luck cuz they will nuke your public links.

I am a heavy Dropbox user. The thing I like most about Drobox is that I have a portable app which allows me to sync all my documents from a USB memory drive. This is especially important at work since I can't download any applications/etc.
I'm not sure of Google Drive's capabilities yet but I do expect to start playing around with it.
I do love the Titanium feature where it syncs backups to Dropbox. (Google drive I think does this as well). Comes in handy when you haven't backed up your phone on your computer in a long while, and you drop your phone deep into a lake. The same goes with syncing pictures.

for what I have been reading, Google Drive is not a virtual "drive" in a sense... like DropBox is... GD is Google Docs in costume... it works great for sharing documents specially if you use the web gui because it can render a lot of files natively... so if you are going to have wordDocs and XLS and PPTs, PSDs etc etc then GD is great... but for regular file dump, cloud repository DropBox wins...

Your Favorite Cloud Storage apps for Android?

Hey XDA
I know Dropbox is basically the dominant force in the cloud market but still there are some other competitors.
The closest competitor would be SugarSync but I really hate their interface and I think their service is slow and terrible.
Just wondering if you guys know about any decent dropbox alternative?
I was able to find a list of some good cloud apps here but I was wondering if there was one that I haven't heard about:

Depends on what you need:
For keeping your devices in sync and backups of personal stuff: Wuala. Simply because it's got client-side encryption where the company running it can't access any of your stuff, even if they wanted to.
For sharing: Dropbox as it's got the widest range of users. I'd still recommend Wuala over it 10 times though.
thanks for wuala and copy

Started using Skydrive lately. 25gb space, have most of my school work and pdf's uploaded there. Mobile access? Havent used it that often, but it could be great for backing up pictures, videos and wallpapers. Upload speed is slow maybe ~100 kB/s if anything.
absolutely dropbox.

Dropbox - sadly
I have had to choose Dropbox as my main cloud storage ... as until Google decide to get GDrive for Linux, as like many Ubuntu is my main operating system. I have found that Box (using webdav in nautilus) was seriously slow upload and download speeds, and Sugarsync likewise has not decided to make a Debian Linux client.
I still use Google Drive for creating documents via the web browser and Quickoffice application.
My list.. i would recommend the following.
Dropbox - user friendly ui
Sygarsync - 'just' an alternative
Box - storage dominent
Minus - storage and ui dominent
Cubby - currently in beta. You need invites to join

Also check out cloud on. No storage, but it accesses box, Dropbox and google drive. Condenses 3 apps in to 1.

I'm quite suprised that apparently 95% of the people here are ok with the cloud provider having access to all their data and not caring about privacy at all.....

Valid point. I think a number of people don't put items in the cloud that are necessarily private or backups of things that should actually be backed up. I wouldn't be too hurt personally of drop box accessed my school work or some screen shots.
I personally use stop box and Google drive since I can create documents quickly. Not a big fan of box.com, given its similar to do box but last I recall did not allow downloading of folders without a subscription. Goodluck downloading if that's still the case and you truly need to recover files lost on physical media.

Skydrive.
I was one of the early adopters of it. When MS launched it for Windows Phone (I now have a Galaxy S II.) Hence, I have the full monty - 25GB of storage.
Now I have some APK's, Adventure Time episodes, some Tiesto, and random pics.
