hi all, im thinking of upgrading to jb the second time. the first time i upgrade to jb from ics are not really good. noticeable ui lag etc.
but im giving a second shot because there a custom kernel for jb now.
so what do you dislike of desire x jb and what problem u have on jb?
i read there are usb problem? after u connect usb to pc, there are no safe to remove options anymore?

I think JB is faster than ICS and there are no problems with USB mounting AFAIK... Why not update?

I think JB is much better than ICS if you use myonedx+ mysensedx+ or even stock

what about the usb problem?? i mean usually in ics after your done connecting your device to pc, theres an option to safely remove sd card option in Windows 7 but in jb i read that that options are not there anymore?
so after we done connecting our device to pc with usb cable, do you just unplug your phone soon after without safely removing option first?
any other bugs/problems on jb? besides the notification wallpaper bug?

Yes and yes, That's because that is not needed.
Yes, low sound from speaker but myONEdx+ and mySENSEdx+ have that fixed. JB is smoother than ICS but always do a factory reset after installing OTA and let it settle down (3-5 days is good but 1-2 weeks is the best)

20 mins is not enough for ROM to settle down like building and caching datas .. while doing that, that is the time we feel the sluggishness most.
All in all, you should upgrade to JB the official way such that your hboot also gets updated. Then everything will work fine..

But usb host mode is something that works in some kernels and one kernel I know where usb host mode is working is AnthraX kernel.

i tried it and deleted the project.. cant fix the updater-script..
its waaay to complicated then you think..
the build.prop is easy..
jus change the first para..
not the whole to keep the tweaks..
import the settings.apk from leedroid as well..
i jus imported the vpn items from settings.apk of leedroid to optimus.. but i dont think there's much difference..
and rest is the usual.. use leedroid a pdf file for which files need to be replaced..
but thats not the hard part.. hard part is the updater-script..
create symlinks and stuff.. too long and complicated.. its not like a simple extract .zip to partition..

well i tried it on CM9 first and thn on CM7.2 nightly. both worked. And the player is CM9 music player. I replaced the stock music.apk with CM music.apk . It works only on ICS 4.03
I tried flashing these on zeubea's CM9 3.0.1 and my phone stopped working. The phone process never started and continued crashing. The problem could be that the new release of zeubea's ROM is Android 4.0.4. If I find some time, I'll try them in older versions.

Yeah. It is an SDfy-like mod for GB and CM9/AOKP. It was not available for CM9 and GB afaik, so I decided to post it, because GB and CM9 deliver better performance than Stock ICS.
Wiz's Instructions:
For locked bootloader:
1.) Root your phone somehow
2.) Install a Root Explorer-like file manager app
3.) Copy the vold.fstab from the proper zip to /system/etc
4.) Reboot phone

Hello fellow XDA Members, i recently stumbled across Official drivers that were secretly uploaded by Qualcomm without much news about it, i have not tested them, but hopefully they increase our beloved Xperia Play's Performance alot on ICS...
Ive also cooked another version which is modded by me and should provide a tiny little bit more performance!
Anyways, would love if anyone can test and provide screenies of some benchs before & after!
Thanks to conformation from lovely forum members, it is only intended to work on ICS, try it on other versions of android at your own risk
Instructions:
~ Download the zip from the Attachements
~ Reboot to CWM
~ Flash it
~ Reboot
~ Reboot again
~ Enjoy!

Just tested, no your phone will still work but just like all other Adreno GPU updates it makes the phone run super slow in everytthing from screen swipes to especially games.
Did someone try this on CM10 or any other JB rom we have? Generally, does this work on JB at all?
It shows, that drivers obliviously doesnt work on gb, so android uses software renderer.
Where did you find this driver? I don't see any new Adreno drivers on Qualcomm Adreno page. Only those from april..
