Galaxy S2 sound problem - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First of all sorr on my bad English
I have issue with my galaxy s2, sound on headphones is to low even if level is set on maximum. I read on internet that people having same problem, is there any way to increase sound volume without using apps from play store because they dont work on my phone. My phone running on ICS 4.1.2, rooted with Siyah 3.0.31-Siyah-s2-v6.0b4+gm kernel.

STweaks from Google Play is free & will enable you to increase headphone volume with Siyah/ICS 4.1.2. I should know because I used it for ages.

Or Dorimanx kernel plus stweaks.

I set value on 3 in stweaks,it increased but not too much, is there any way to increase it more? I enjoy it very loud I use original headphones which came with my phone. On what should i look wheen buying headphones impedance or resistance ? can someone explain to me? More impedance = louder headphones ?

I put 3db at first settings, then 4db on rest options. You could put 8 instead of 4.

There is no 8db max is 6 db and I set it.

Pay attention of what i say.
First option, choose 3db. All the rest set to 4db or more.
It's not one single option, it's more there. Get it now?
Ps. Dorimanx kernel.
v8.38 for official rom or v9.38 for aosp, cm 10.

[Q] SGS2 Loudness level in general

Hi all,
I used to have a SGSI and with Voodoo I could stretch sound loudness over the earphones quite a bit with some well-known sound quality improvements.
My SGS2 loudness level with custome kernel is below SGSI's with Voodoo and I learnt Voodoo will not be implemented for the SGS2.
Would anyone have an opinion over which kernel does deliver the loudest sound output over headphones?
Alternatively, do we have any app that can do that?
Thanks all.

Well Jje, I did search to no avail, obviously. Hints appreciated.

Thanks both.

Thanks a ton JJ. I searched by 'loudness' not by 'sound'.
As I also have Poweramp I implemented the Volume+ & PowAmp solution.
Tremendously appreciated, regards.

Audio Control

Hey everyone, as you may know, I recently came over from the Captivate. It was a great phone but the SGS2 is obviously better. However, one thing I miss already is the voodoo sound analog gain adjustment since I can't seem to find good listening levels on the SGS2. At the lowest volume, music is too loud through my earbuds (when I'm in a quiet setting), but when I'm in my car, I need to boost it to the max using the gain boost in ExTweaks. I can't seem to find a happy medium that allows me to have both high and low volumes like I did on the Cappy. I am aware that the SGS2 doesn't have the audio hardware to utilize something like voodoo sound, so what apps do people generally prefer to manage this with? I would prefer something that doesn't make it inconvenient to change the volume.
Voodoo Louder work on ICS rom but not JB If you want a Boost.

Is there much of a difference between using Voodoo Louder and using the audio settings in ExTweaks?

No, the same exact setting is changed by both, but using louder is much more convenient because it is adjusted automatically. However, some kernels have another volume bar that only extweaks can change, but that's just certain kernels. And btw, it does work on jb, not sure what that one guy was talking about.
I've used both on the jb ROM I'm using and they work, but I don't find I need it with the ShoStock3 ROM.

[Q] DSP/Beats/Acid not working right?

I have a lot of phones and I use either beats, Acid, or DSP manager on all of them, but I can't get it to work correctly on the note. I can Hear the app affecting the music when I change the EQ, but it doesn't sound nearly as good as any of my other phones. I'm not being picky, there is a HUGE difference between this phone and others. I'm running Beans 8 with the non-OC kernel, but I've tried Perseus and Saber kernel as well to no avail. Anyone know what's going on? Is it just an issue with the DAC on this phone?

[Q] Kernel for stock rom, that outputs good sound quality?

Currently I have I9100XXMS2 JB4.1.2 Android Baltic version installed on my phone (I9100). Audio quality (compared to CM10.1) is terrible on this kernel. I would like to ask if it is possible to install custom(better) kernel for this stock android JB. Also, if it is possible, maybe you can recommend kernel, which is, you think, the best when it comes listening to music.
There isn't one. The SQ on the SGS2 is limited by the ****ty Yamaha DAC. The best you can do is bump the volume up using a Siyah based kernel which gives the music more 'fullness', through headphones at least.

I am talking about rom/kernel issues, not hardware issues. When I had cm10.1 installed, music was fine, equalizers worked great, they improved quality of music very well. Now even equalizers are not able to make sure that the sound is the same or better as it was by using cm10.1.
Xplay off playstore is my choice of player. Good for quality of sound used with dori or siyah just make it even better. Loud and clear.

I've never noticed any difference whatsoever with various kernels & roms. A few music apps seem to have very slightly different sound signatures/qualities, but the variances are very slight (and may well even be imaginary). I think the differences people hear are down to changes in their headphones/earphones (and the cables, particularly in the case of IEM's) over time or even changes to their ears (wax, possibly other factors).
Having said that, I used Poweramp for 9 mths, then switched to Neutron for the last 3 mths I used my SGS2 as a music player (I don't anymore). I thought Neutron had a slightly 'cleaner' sound through 5 different IEM's, but as I said, that might have been my imagination/what I was wanting to hear.

Mods.

Ok,so i was searching through xda and i found these two mods for android phones.
Did anyone try them and if yes do they actually do something ?

I see that this one has been tested on our phone,i am on JB and the sound output from the speaker is really, really low. Will this increase it ?

Don't.
No offence to the owner of those mods, but build prop and init d tweaks are not universal.
You'll probably get a boot loop.
The real performance boost comes from codes optimization of Rom and kernel . Not some scripts

PureAudio™ Engine doesn't work at all, I tried it,sound quality actually degraded, haven't tried PurePerformances™X yet..
the thing about pure audio engine is that utilizes beats audio which is somehow i feel outdated or is faulty compared to the stock one we have....if you are a desire x user you are prone to bass oriented sound where as pure audio aims at clarity and balance of bass and treble two completly different stuff to be honest it works fab in my galaxy mini but desire x is a disaster ended up with boot loop and when it did manage to boot hell was the sound output...:silly::silly::silly: i would suggest you not flash it again no offense to OP of mod he has done a great job my mini sound fantabulous....
