[Q] Flash not working in any browser since flashing - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've read the 5 similar threads which XDA suggested, and nothing from Google helped so far. Basically by "any browser" I mean all the big name browsers, including Firefox and Dolphin. On my old ROM they worked. Now the same (latest) versions don't. I'm on 4.2.2 (old ROM and new ROM) and I don't seem to have any Flash binaries installed, but I thought it was built into browsers now since Flash for Android is discontinued.
Can anyone add more information on the subject?
Thanks.

Flash is not "built into" the browsers. Manually install the latest flash player apk from here - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

[Q] Flash player on CM9 Beta

Just wondering if anyone has got adobe flash player to work on CM9 Beta? I'v been trying around with pretty much every version avalible. I have not seen much about it in the CM9 Beta dev thread. I hope people dont take this as an attempt to be pushy about it, I'm just wondering how to progress is going. The CM9 Beta from zeubea is very much appreciated and I'm very thankful for it.
It will not fully work but you can still install it.

Okey, which version is that? 10.1, 10.2, 10.3? Cause 11 will never work right.

Here's how I make mine work :
Install 10.3 apk, which is actually flash 11. After installing don't open just reboot.
You will find flash setting in your app drawer. Just do whatever setting suits you
Flash will work only on the stock Google browser. I tried with opera next it dun work.
Now just go to bbcsports football and try. It works all the time for me.
It works, don't get me wrong but it doesn't work well. Flash videos on the internet lag like a ***** to the point where it is unplayable. I'm using version 11 (or so it says)

I did what you said ndmuni and it's still not working.
I downloaded it from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340773 which I thought should be the right version.
The app said 10.3 not 11 as Stevemotto mentioned.
I then uninstalled and tried from the same thread I found the first one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23663364&postcount=28
That one said 11.v11.0.1.153 in the app.
Still the same result.
I tested BBCSports football with the original browser and the result has always been it tells me to download adobe flash player and it links me to adobe saying
I got the wrong verison.
It's really hard for me to give this one up as I know that some live streams I watched before worked fine with another rom, and when you guys says it works for you.
I would really appreciate if you guys can link me the page where you downloaded your version. It would help me narrow down the possible factor that I might still have the wrong version.
Thanks for helping me out.

Hey guys, as zeubeas rom is still in beta0 and there is still some issues with the 2D drivers (something to do with debug), plus most of codecs are still broken, I have also tried most of the versions of flash available with out much success. These issues I suggest could also be related to cm9 itself, from what I've seen our ics is ported from an RC anyway and not from a stable version. Hopefully this is a fixable issue, and not one of those non fixable issue.

[Apk] Jellybean/CMX Flash Player

Here's a version of flash player that works on JB. It will not work in chrome as they removed flash support in the browser but I've tested it on Firefox beta, stock JB browser and apps like kongregate and its working fine.
Just install the apk like normal.

[Q] Flash Player For Android OS, v2.3 [HTC Explorer & Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830]

I need a Flash Player to watch flash videos on HTC Explorer and Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830.
Which is the best ? Or should I install a browser ?
Both ARMv6 devices so don't expect much to work. There are unofficial flash apks out there for ARMv6 but performance isn't that good. If you want decent flash player you'll need an ARMv7 device.

In this thread it shows HTC Explorer is an ARMv7 device.

Oh, you're right, I saw that it had a MSM7225A SOC and thought it was ARMv6, but the SOCs with the A are actually ARMv7. You can try the Android 2.x flash apk from the site in my signature. For a browser you can use the default one that came with your device or a 3rd party one like Dolphin Browser, etc.

I installed Dolphin Browser & SWF Player - Flash ®FileViewer on both the phones.
On Galaxy Ace, the site worked using the Dolphin browser and SWF Player seperately, but the images are moving in frames i.e still images moving after 5-10 seconds. On Explorer, the site didn't load anything at all using both seperately.
I don't know, why !
Skyfire??works ok fr me

I try to keep it updated all the time, right now the latest version is up. You can always go to the direct Adobe link at the bottom and see. But newer releases are all just security fixes that aren't adding any new features, they will never make anything past version 11.1.x.

No...
Android 4.1+ does not support Flash player, you may install it by some way...
I think this is more of a Chrome issue than an Android issue.
I'm running a custom ROM (PAC) which is android 4.3. Flash is working fine with the standard (AOSP) browser.

Thanks all for answer.

You are mistaken. Android 4.1+ does support Flash Player, just not "officially", and Flash Player is not built into Dolphin Browser. You must install Flash Player then enable Dolphin to use Flash Player by going into Dolphin's Web Content settings and setting Flash Player to Always On or On Demand. If you do not have Flash Player installed on your tablet, you can download it from Adobe's Archived Flash Player Versions web page. Search for the list titled "Flash Player for Android 4.0 archives" to find and download the latest version (11.1.115.69 as of early July 2013) to your device and install it. You can ignore that it says "for Android 4.0", it will also run on Android 4.1.x. You can test that Flash Player is working in Dolphin by going to Adobe's Find Version web page.

AOSP = Android Open Source Project and the AOSP browser is the "stock" browser that comes with Android.
Chrome is Google's modified version of the AOSP browser.
Many people (myself included) prefer the AOSP browser as it usually is faster than Chrome and you can use Flash with it.
Many custom ROMs (CM, PA, PAC) include the AOSP browser.

Question about running flash on marshmallow and the possibilty of linux on nexus 9

I have a nexus 9 running the latest android marshmallow, I wanted to ask Is it possible to run flash player on it? I have tried various guides where you basically download the flash apk and use a browser such as firefox or dolphin but these seems to always crash and are very glitch. Are there any alternative methods?
Also is it possible to run something like Ubuntu or linux on a nexus 9 device? Thanks

That's what I'm using. Works OK for videos, but forget about flash games. The problem is, Dolphin is already slow at loading and rendering pages. When you add flash on top of that, you end up with page freezes or crashes half the time. But sadly, that's as good as it gets. That's the only way to run actual flash content nowadays.
Your only other option is to pay for a service, like Puffin or Proton Browsers, where they render the flash content on their servers, and then stream it as HTML 5 video to your browser.
