I have seen many posts regarding the buzzing or static noise come out of the phone speaker for any sound after flashing an audio engine or mod. My phone suffered the same thing so I decided to play around with the mod and system files and I found the solution. It was the modified AudioFilter.CSV that was contained in the audio mod or engine causing the static noise. Here is the solution.
1. Go to system/etc
2. Find a file named AudioFilter.CSV
3. Copy it to the root of your sd card
4. Then flash your audio mod or engine like normal
5. When reboot is done, use a root browser or explorer to open your sd card
6.copy the copied AudioFilter.CSV file into system/etc and restart
7. And bingo! You have fixed the problem and still keep the modified audio of the audio engine or mod
It seems to work for most audio mod or engine.

The AudioFilter.CSV file that is copied to your sd card must be from your ROM's original and not modified with any audio mod or engine
Works for any phone or ROM
I am not reponsible for any damage to your phone, hardware or software.

Do this and all will be ok
First of all, please note that your computer must be rooteado and admit that you modify the system and in some countries you may lose your computer warranty.
First of all, you need to download two files: Root Explorer and a modified file system that will do the miracle. I leave the links for you to download:
Root Explorer
Modified system file
Now copy these two files to the external memory and then proceed to manually install Root Explorer.
When you first run Root Explorer, Root will ask permission to continue its execution. You obviously agree.
Now pay attention to the following instructions because if a wrong file modified, hate me forever xD.
Find the folder called system and you enter into it and looking for the folder called etc and you enter too
Now you push a button located on the top of the screen called Mount R / W. At the touch will be renamed Mount R / O.
Now find the file called default_gain.conf and stop sticking your finger over it to make you see a window with options. You select the option to rename the file and you add a. Bak at the end of the file name and save it there. This will serve to leave a copy of the original file in case of emergency.
Now from the same Root Explorer should go to external memory and copy the modified file you copied earlier. For that you must close and reopen Root Explorer, go to the folder mnt and then enter the folder extSdCard that would be the directory of the memory card.
Now find the changed file, leave your finger stuck on it until you see other options, choose Copy.
Now carefully press the Back button on your Galaxy SIII twice. Looking the system folder, then you log into etc and there you must press the button that says Paste to copy the
Finally off and then turn on your Samsung Galaxy SIII and now start enjoying the real power does your smartphone.
You should know that the power of volume increases in the audio output for headphones, for the speaker and for Bluetooth stereo headsets. In the case of the speaker, is not leaving the ring volume and notification to the maximum, otherwise it will saturate. If you take ear-type headphones in, please be careful with the volume because you could cause you damage your ear.
Alternative use one of the tools on Play that boosts volume .
Or Boefella kernal that allows setttings adjustment of sound levels .
Volume +
Or the Default_gain.conf post in Themes and Apps by Meltus .

Anyone tried boosting the volume in CyanogenMod 10.2?
This mod installs only the required additional Beats audio files into the system so it works with all ur equalizers and also the Dsp manager.
If u follow the instructions correctly you must be able to hear the difference
Installation
For Rom's with DSP Manager::
1) Download the Beats Audio.zip file and copy it to SD card
2) Install in CWM and reboot
3) Now change the DSP manager equalizer settings to the ones as shown in the attached thumbnails
4) That's it now ur all ready to enjoy Beats audio in ur GB Rom
For Rom's without DSP Manager::
1) Download the DSPManager.zip and Beats Audio.zip files and copy them to SD card
2) In CWM first install the DSPManager.zip file and then the Beats Audio.zip file and reboot
3) Now open DSP manager and set the equalizer settings to the ones as shown in the attached thumbnails
4) That's it now ur all ready to enjoy Beats audio in ur GB Rom
Wats the diff??

Ok so I was having trouble getting viper audio mod to work with cm 11 based roms so after consulting with GoblinZ it seems he and irocevo figured it out and shared with me what was wrong. To start when i downloaded viper and installed it, removed dsp manager with titanium backup and installed viper audio drivers, it worked great.... Until I rebooted my phone then it was like I never installed the drivers, but they were still installed... So that was the issue I was having, couldn't get it to stick, so this is how goblinz instructed me to get it to work.
First you need viper audio mod [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
Now download viper audio zip file and open with your file explorer, I'm using es file Explorer you must enable Root Explorer and Mount
/system as writable. Ok now don't install the viper apk located inside the zip just extract it to any folder you like, now copy the Viper audio apk file to /system/priv-app
Ok now one more thing, You must change the permissions on the apk file, so in es file Explorer you long press on the file, then press on more/properties then permissions, change them to
Owner: read write execute
Group: read write
Others: read
Now reboot and then you should see Viper4Android as an app in your app drawer, open then install audio drivers then at the top right of your screen you'll see three dots which is the menu for the app, check FX compatibility mode and check compatible, then check UI setting to moderate or expert.
That's it your done, hopefully this helps someone out cause I was really frustrated that i couldn't get this to work cause imo this is the best audio mod for Android.
Enjoy

Or just install the app. Open titanium and convert to system app.
Open Viper and install driver of choice.
Dont reboot yet.
Edit your build.prop and change lpa.decode=false.
Reboot.
Profit.
The build.prop edit is the most important one. The only Roms it doesnt work is the last build of cm10.2 and that was because CM messed the rom and made it impossible for user to disable low power audio. Thus V4A didnt work no matter what. Evrrything else sense aosp cm etc just edit the build.prop entry and you are good to go.

Does the Viper mod have the option to increase the phones in call volume on the earpiece?
Sent from my EVO using XDA
Hey guys so I was looking for a way to increase the volume on my Verizon branded G3 with no luck. Tried Viper4Android and even the mixer_path mod but that didn't work. So I looked and found this mod for the G2 which requires editing the snd_soc_msm_taiko. So I tried that and to my surprise it works. What I did was copy the file using root explorer to my sd card and then edited using a text editor on my pc due to file being to large for root explorer. Copied to directory and fixed permissions and after a reboot noticed the difference. Anyways more info is available on the following link --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2442883. Make sure you thank them if this helps you.

im all for figuring this out myself, but without a custom recovery to restore backups, i would rather not re-flash stock while im trying this.
if you have it working without issue, can you just post the modified file?
thanks
How can we use an equalizer? Also some ring tones on max sound a teeny distorted. This speaker is LOUD

I actually use Viper4Android along with this mod as the volume mod for the speaker within Viper4Android doesn't seem to work however the equalizer does.
For those who stayed on Gingerbread or returned to Gingerbread, here's a fully functioning way to get sound enhancements to work.
I got these files a long time ago. I cant find any posts on xda relating to this so im posting this.
Instructions:
Extract the zip file,
Copy files within the zip to their respective locations manually and replace,
Better use X-plore with root privileges, I found it easier.
Sometimes the effects might not work and sound enhancement crashes. So copy the apps{semcmusic and sound enhancements after replacing the libs ,etc and framework }.
You can also try clearing the app data of sound enhancements.
This is my first post, im not sure if this is a duplicate post, although i have done a good search.
