My phone felt down and lost it network.
Everything else functions 100% (wifi, gps, audio, video, bluetooth, camera, etc)
when I dial *#06# I got what you can see on the attached screenshot.
Tried many-many things from this forum and some others. Nothing.
my /efs folder looks as follows:

Any chance to get back the mobile network?
thanks!
If you say you've 'tried everything' & don't have an 'good' EFS backup (either made automatically by a kernel like Siyah, or one you took manually with the several apps available for same) then you don't have much choice other than to take it to a service centre or a local mobile shop. Or you could buy a RIFF box, but unless you know how to use it/are prepared to learn & be careful, you'll end up needing a service centre trip if you get it wrong plus you'll have paid for something you'll likely never use again.
Me too
But i flash zsmg2 and all fine worked but my language is farsi it is honkong
I cannot downgrade or install any stock rom
What is your rom?
how to know my phone locked ?
only i9070zsmg2 worked in my phone

SOLVED - Moved to Q&A section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896514
I had this problem with an earlier version, have gone back to CM where it was fine and now, when trying v.16 (after a FULL WIPE), have the exact same problem.
Settings show I have plenty of storage but when I try to install/update from the Market or via adb install or Titanium restore I get the message Install failed insufficient storage.
Settings shows 126MB free.
If I adb push to /system/app there is no problem (but the apps do not show uninstall or move to SD options)
Also get exactly the same error with PhoenRom v1.0 (but not CyanogenMod 6.1.1)
Any help would be most appreciated!

Yes and Settings shows 126MB free but it won't even let me update.
126MB is /data storage. Not /system.
I think it is APP2EXT problem...
Try 'a2sd remove' then 'a2sd reinstall'
And wrong forum..
Apps are supposed to be installed to data, not system.
Pushing apps to system means you can't uninstall them normally as they will become part of the system apps.
In any case you still seem to have sufficient space in your /data so you shouldn't have any problems installing a few more apps, which is weird.
Are you using Dark Tremor's apps2sd? Also what did you use to check your free space?
You can try going to recovery and clear cache and dalvik cache and reboot your phone.

Thanks for the reply.
Tried 'a2sd remove' then 'a2sd reinstall' but no change.
Sorry about it being in the wrong forum, I originally thought the problem was related to the MM Gingerbread ROM, until I tried the PhoenRom and had the same problem with that.

Yes, Dark Tremor's apps2sd is on there - (which I didn't realise!)
My SD card is partitioned 7GB Windows/1GB Linux.
Booting Linux on my PC I can see the apps in the Linux partition.
Tried clearing cache and dalvik cache but no change.
Going into Settings/Applications/Downloaded shows "72MB used / 124MB free"
On SD card shows "3.2GB used / 3.3GB free"
I currently have the PhoenRom installed, this is what df now shows:

I don't know if this is significant.
happened on me once, retried a few times and they updated no problem.

ran a2sd reinstall, a2sd zipalign and a2sd cachepart.
btw i had been flashing between the new market and old market, and ran a2sd resetcache many times too.
Hi all,
I've posted a question in the Galaxy S2 forums but realise it's probably a more generic issue.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17892549
I've broken my screen and it no longer responds to touch. I can view it using an MHL > HDMI adapter but without any touch input I can't get past the pattern unlock.
I was hoping to pair a bluetooth mouse using adb or somehow so I can then use the mouse to pattern unlock and generally use my phone.
If anyone thinks they might be able to help with advice or techniques, please let me know!
Many thanks!
I think you can send touch events via adb, dig roung Google and you should find out how.
Sorry, I never tried it but I'm pretty sure its possible.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
It turns out that it's possible but it's not documented at all from what I can see.
My main hurdle at the moment though is that I do not have debugging enabled in normal mode so even if I worked out the correct sequence, I wouldn't be able to push it to the phone in normal mode through adb...
Also, it seems my sqlite3 is missing?!
If your rom supports init.d scripts you could add a script that starts the adb server on startup from recovery.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
That's a grand idea. Yeah there is an init.d directory so seems fine.
I know adb start-server from the pc side, however there are a few folders etc with adb in them and I've not found which is the right one to kick of debug mode. Seeing as I can't actually see the screen it's hard to play with trial and error Any suggestions on that would be great.
Code:
/system/etc/init.d # find / | grep adb | while read in
> do
> echo "${in}: "
> ls -lrt $in
> done

Hi,
I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Linux but i'm trying to take the Chinese based firware for my device unpack it, modify it and re pack it to make a English starting vanilla build.
Let me begin, i've got a Ubuntu 12.04 install with ext4_utils. I've used a allwinner kitchen to extract the RFSFAT16_SYSTEM_000000000.fex file. I've used simg2img to convert it to original.img and then mounted it as tempdir.
I make changes and all seems ok.
the thing i'm struggling with now is once i've made changes to the output.img through the tempdir through nautilus i try to convert it back to sparse and the conversion completes BUT then when i re pack it into an image and flash the rom doesn't work and gets stuck on boot animation. If if leave the file as ext4 and repack it.. it loads fine but the system image is huge.
If i try to use ./mkuserimg.sh -s /home/Desktop/Android/ext4_utils ./Onda.img ext4 ./temp 512M it creates a .img file with a padlock on it.. (permissions). If i rename this to RFSFAT16_SYSTEM_000000000 and repack the root doesn't boot.
Ive followed this thread and whilst i can get it to work in ext4 i can't get it to work as sparse.
Any help please?

onyone a clue?
Got a used alpha sm-g850y. It seems that knox counter is already tripped to 1. However the phone is not rooted (seems like bugger flashed stock rom before selling) and Iam having following issues
1. WiFi passwords are lost after reboot (Unsecure WiFi is still saved after reboot)
2. Bluetooth takes a long time to start file send (though file receive is fast)
3. Sometimes the battery drain is rapid
In logcat I can see following message is printed every 1 or 2 secs

I verified the /efs directory is present and it has ownership radio:system. Iam not able to see contents of directory though.
What is the solution to this problem?
Iam thinking of flashing it with stock rom. Will it work? or it may corrupt /efs altogether?
Or should I root and change ownership/permissions of /efs? If so what is the right ownership/permission?
Also what is best way to root without flashing custom rom?

Thanks

Ok rooted the device. Observed that file /efs/ss_data had ownership root:root. Changed the ownership to system:system. WiFi now stores password even after reboot. I saw several other files had ownership as root:root as well. Changed the ownership/permissions of the files as follows

Ah, what firmware are you on?
BLA-LxxCxxxBxxx
Best would be to restore ramdisk then flash TWRP and install Magisk 16 using TWRP.
I can extract ramdisk if I just get your firmware/cust and then tell you how to proceed

BLA-L29C432B129 ramdisk: https://mega.nz/#!sKgkUaIL!riORwSthYHAnUi7y4xb7vA98qs7hu0jDHh2wqbxxvaw
Flash using: fastboot flash ramdisk RAMDISK_BLA-L29C432B129.img
You can test rebooting after flashing ramdisk to see if themes are back, then continue flashing TWRP and Magisk.
If they're not there, you may have to update to your current firmware (or latest) using https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/how-to/guide-mate-10-flash-oreo-update-package-t3716814
I'm not sure what FHTool does, but it should only affect Ramdisk. Unless you rebranded using it, then it might be why themes broke.
TWRP (2nd post for download link): https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-touch-recovery-t3752399
Flash using: fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp-3.2.1-0-blanc.img
Reboot to TWRP using power + vol up, release power when phone vibrates
Magisk: http://tiny.cc/latestmagisk
Flash using adb sideload:
go to Advanced and tap on ADB Sideload, swipe to turn on.
adb sideload Magisk-v16.0.zip
You should now have Magisk installed and hopefully themes.

Could you check one thing first, download Terminal Emulator from Play store.
Open it up and type 'su'.
Grant su to Terminal Emulator.
Type:
cd /data/hw_init/
ls -la

Your /data/hw_init/ folder missing.
Use https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/how-to/guide-mate-10-flash-oreo-update-package-t3716814 to flash BLA-L29C432B129 again, this will restore themes (and the rest of /data/hw_init/) while keeping your other data intact.
You can use the same guide to install Magisk or follow below.
Flash TWRP (2nd post for download link): https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-touch-recovery-t3752399
Flash using: fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp-3.2.1-0-blanc.img
Reboot to TWRP using power + vol up, release power when phone vibrates
Magisk: http://tiny.cc/latestmagisk
Flash using adb sideload:
go to Advanced and tap on ADB Sideload, swipe to turn on.
adb sideload Magisk-v16.0.zip
You should now have Magisk installed.
