I recently received an X10. I was wondering if anyone else has a problem with switching from video to camera mode and vice versa? For me, it's unresponsive and takes forever to switch back and forth between them. Do you just click on the icons? Maybe I'm doing it wrong (though I can't imagine how). If I can't fix minor issues like this, I'm going to pay $105 for a Captivate as a replacement.

All good here, 1-1.5 secs to change. What FW is on the phone?

That's strange. Do you simply press the video camera and then it changes? When I press it, it's delayed so much that I don't even know if it's the phone or not. Everything on the phone is stock.

Ok, thanks. I guess I'll change my phone to either a Captivate or another Xperia. I really don't feel like waiting for 2.1 or the "kits." I know it won't fix a lot of things like multi-touch and 16m colors.

As there are about 6 different versions so that doesn't help, and might have been resolved if you updated from an older version.

It was one of the first things I asked as you'd mentioned replacing it, and as I've already said, that or any other issues you were having might have been resolved with a FW update. Anyway, you've swapped now.
Anyone having issues with Instagram on the ICS leak(DaGr8's)? When ever i choose a pic from the gallery and it takes me to apply the filter the phone just becomes unusable. There is nothing that i can do and i have to pull the battery. Is anyone else having this issue or is there something that i did wrong?
it's not just you, and I'm on the stock leak.
Its not just us, its on the problem section on the app on google play
I don't have to pull the battery. I dunno if you guys ever knew this, but if you hold the power button down for around 15 seconds the phone will hard reboot (same as pulling the battery). You will feel the phone vibrate, then reboot like normal Save your battery cover , just hold the power button down.

You guys do realize the Instagram team most likely only had the latest GB to test their app out on, right? ICS is a very small percentage of Android right now.

No, the Google team themselves had access to Instagram before launch. Hugo Barra is a good example of who had it beforehand. I'm pretty sure if not positive all the Android devices that Instagram took a photo of were seeded by Google.

and I don't see why they would purposely exclude ANY ICS device but they did. Pretty dumb.
ok I gotta ask this question, what is so great about instagram? I see it over the tech forums, everyone here seems to go wild when it was released for android. I just don't get it, it's a camera effects program that uploads your photos and geotags them? is it really that big of a deal?

Its more of a social media app. you have followers and you follow people. Kind of like twitter but for pictures. Even though Instagram doesn't work, MyTubo works fine on ICS. If you dont know what MyTubo is, its pretty much the same as Instagram but only for Android users.
Ahh, that explains why I have no idea what it is as I don't use social media systems
Yeah locks up after applying filter on Note however on Gnex it works fine.
does the 1.0.3 update fix it or is there a way to fix it?

I just got my phone and most of the time when receiving a email I'll pull down the menu and it keeps going back up automatically. After trying like 3 times it finally stays down. Does anyone else has this issue?
Not to insult your intelligence or anything but are you pulling the bar all the way down? When I was on GB if I didn't pull it all the way down it'd wonk out on me and shoot back up if I did it too fast.

I had the same issue on GB. I head to drag it almost all the way down to the bottom of the screen. Now on ICS I can just flick the bar downwards and it does the rest.

Yes I pull it all the way down like 3 times then if lucky it will stay down. After reading emails the pull down menu works fine. The work arounds I found is to put my finger at the top of screen and quickly flick downward then it will stay. With my old phone using it's default rom and Cyanogenmod 7, this never happend. The second work around is to use a small app called, One Click Status Bar. Place it on the home screen and when it's tapped the menu drops down.

Your phone must be rooted to have ICS. I'm debating on doing this because I like using CyanogenMod. One of the problems with rooted phones is that the market doesn't recognize the phone and paid apps disappear and it force closes alot.

I flash around a lot usually spending about a couple weeks on different Roms to test and compare features and I can say I never had a problem with Google play ever recognizing any of my paid apps.
The force closes on the other hand do happen, but very rarely if you run a good rom, and don't do anything you're not supposed to

I respect your opinion, but I've been flashing custom roms for quite a while and have never had problems with market /playstore not recognizing or not letting me install unless of course I modified the DPI or something. Andbim afraid I don't know what u mean by paid apps disappearing.

When a phone is rooted the Google server no longer knows what device is being used. You can check this out by logging into Google wallet and look under your device list. You'll also notice that some apps show up for different os like with gingerbread and some don't for ics. After rooting the server doesn't know what apps work with the phone and at times makes some of your paid apps disappear and preventing potential future downloads.

Very true, I apologize. But you must realize that this site EXISTS for the simple idea that we, the members of it(evidently not all of them), do not want our phones stock.
The only support you'll get from a stock ROM, is from the at&t store.
and the "was not" was meant that way. I feel its a stronger form of the word rather than wasn't
This discussion got troublesome and way, way off topic.
But the bottom line is man, if you want to stay stock, there's really nothing we can do, other than advise to wipe data/factory reset via 3e recovery.
What you may have thought you knew about issues that come by rooting your phone, are maybe 1 in a 100, and most likely caused by the person themselves.
There are a few ROM's that are based on at&t "official" leaks. but there rooted.

I think you may be confusing some of your facts. That may hold true for some unbranded chinese tablets running ICS. Those ROMs have to operate as a brand name "something else" just to get market to recognize the device.
The same is not true with our phones. Root away! The issues you're concerned about do not exist on name brand android devices.
Hi all,
Does anyone else use snapchat and feel it locks up all the memory and CPU or something that makes it so slow that everything becomes unresponsive after you use it? The only way is to reboot or clearing the processors in developer options!
I know a lot of others are experiencing this, but I wanted to know if anyone using this app and this phone in particular have made it run smoothly. Snapchat support email bounced back. . Also It's always been like this on my S3, Note 3, Note 4, Z3C but much worse on this one.
(deleting it doesn't solve it! so please don't say that - i'm secretly kind of jealous of my friends iPhones when they use this app..)
Thanks

Sounds specific to you. Try clearing cache/data.
Okay I have cleared all system cache. That should hopefully help since no one else is experiencing this.
I also get this. Mostly when using inoreader
Yeah I am still having this happen. I have tried clearing the entire system cache, and have updated chrome, and have restarted my phone. Its been going in for weeks. Only things I havent tried is a full reset of my phone. Which I refuse to do for now.
If Oreo update doesn't stop it, then I will do a full reset after that. Although interesting to see someone else reported the same thing. Seems to be a compatibility with chrome and the v30.
