I'm on Carbon right now but I think the HTC Sense keyboard is much better (my opinion) then the stock Google keyboard. Would it be possible to pull an apk for HTC Sense keyboard and use it on an AOSP ROM?

I've always wondered if it was possible to use HTC's widgets (specifically the clock and weather widgets) on CM9 or any other custom rom for that matter. I've always been limited to only using Sense custom roms because I really enjoy HTC widgets. Thanks!
Sense widgets only work on Sense ROMs
though there are similar widget skins available for Beautiful Widgets and for Fancy Widgets

Similar does not equal same though. I really like the HTC Sense clock and weather widget. Its truly beautiful. And its truly a flip clock with the flip animation. The ones from Beautiful Widgets and Fancy Widgets don't compare imo. They don't look as good and they don't do the animations...

even more so with the Sense 4.0 version being much better than the older ones, unfortunately, it's one of the trade-offs of switching launchers, or to AOSP ROMs.

I have a hard time believing these devs can't find a way to recreate that flip clock. They can't rip that out of a sense ROM?

I believe that Sense apps and widgets are proprietary and require libraries that are only found in Sense ROMS. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Fancy widget originally did recreate HTC's flip clock but then they got a Cease and Desist letter from HTC

BUMP!
I would also love the Sense clock on an alternative launcher.... Its awesome
The problem is all sense widgets work off the sense framework and sense resources. That's what makes it difficult to port to a aosp Rom.

I was hoping to come back to this thread and see better news. So is it official? No HTC weather or clock on any other roms? HTC really messed up with the way they handle multitasking in my opinion. That is why I need to go to a different rom. I just want to take the clock and the weather with me
see the thing is. it wouldn't necessarily be all that difficult to port them over its just that they can't... their HTC's widgets not googles. there is weird licencing and such around it which is why you can't find anything that looks JUST like them in the market and why they have never been in aosp roms or in launcher other than the htc launcher that comes on htc phones.

So are you saying the creators of these roms may get sued by HTC if they included the clock and weather widget in there rom? Or are you saying it is impossible to find these widgets because they aren't a simple file or apk? Sorry if this is a basic question

both, they're APKs, but they're also 100% completely tied to HTC's Sense framework and files, so they're never gonna be found outside of a Sense ROM, and it's also why they're not available outside of the Sense launcher.
You could try:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1627140
Sense is built DEEP into the ROM. You can't just rip a piece out of it and expect it to work
Or, you may want to look at these -

Does anyone know any keyboard like this?
I tried SwiftKey and Swype, but they use too much memory and its laggy. I like this stock keyboard, but there is no option to turn off auto capitalization.. any idea?

Smart Keyboard Pro - definitely. I tried at least 10 other ones, but all had some flaws. Try it, you will be pleased for sure.
Swype
On my wildfire i have no lag what-so-ever using swype and is my preferred choice
i use the stock ROM no changes running anndroid 2.2.1 Froyo

on the wildfire? - it's targeted onto tablets if I'm not mistaken - isn't it a bit too errm feature rich for 320x240?
I stick with ICS native keyboard. Pretty fast, quite small and good recognition.

Actually the Hacker's Keyboard has been on the wildfire play store since the wildfire itself first came out, I used it a few times but found the ability to move the keys and change the sizes a little too daunting...
I have seen in htc explorer sense keyboard can swype too, can we used it in htc wildfire with cm7 rom?

I'm using the MultiLing keyboard, its like...600kb *_*, light, lagfree and it may be me but I tend to belive it is faster than the ics keyboard.
Also there's a cute theme option where u can turn it dark so it looks awesome on Gosms pro with ics theme.
try to use smart keybord
I m using smart keyboard too.
Wish it has swype option as well.

Just started running Neo's AOSP rom, loving it so far. The only thing I miss about Sense is some of the widgets. Is it possible to use sense widgets on a non sense rom?

No.
Edit: To further expound on that, you would need the Sense framework and Rosie (Sense launcher)

check this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1732330 it has an exact clone of the Sense 4 Flip clock widget for other launchers (even works in AOSP)
+1 for Android Pro Widgets. Gives you a lot you may miss from Sense. Beautiful Widgets is good for the clock/weather widget we all know so well from Sense, but lately I've been using HD Widgets for the clock/weather, which I like a little better.

Anyone know if we can use the standard ICS gapps with AOKP/AOSP or if the rom dev has to supply them?

You can use standard on any. Neo provides some themed ones for his roms ,but they aren't necessary.
Neo has a download on his aosp and aokp roms for inverted gapps, and another flashable download to turn the inverted apps back to normal.

Does anyone know of any good T9 keyboard apps and beats audio apps for Jelly Bean ROMs? All of the jb ROM I have seen don't have the phone/T9 layout. I'm also wanting a Beats audio plugin for JellyBean.

DSP manager built in is pretty much a beats app. Other than that, there is flashables around the forum if you don't like DSP.
I tried King Beatz and it worked pretty decently.

Smart Keyboard (Trial or Pro) for T9 keyboard. I used to use the HTC IME Mod back on ICS, but when it didn't work on JB anymore, I had to find a new one. Smart Keyboard is the closest I could find to the HTC IME Mod that I could find that I liked.
I much prefer the 3x3 grid from Sense compared to the scrolling list in Cyanogenmod. Anyway way to do it without a Sense ROM?
