Read the guides and be careful with what you are doing. There is no 100 percent brick protection.

How to root and flash the latest official samsung stock rom?

Hi, sorry for the question.
I am getting an S2 which comes with android 4 something, but with a rom that was modified by my cellular provider.
I really want an official stock rom.
Is there a simple and easy way to root and flash an official stock rom?
Thanks in advance!

Some questions regarding root...

Hi all, (this is my first thread)
I wanted to ask a couple of questions about which I am confused...
I am currently running stock 4.1.1 on rooted international galaxy s3..
Q1. Is there anyway I can get 4.1.2 OTA Without unrooting?
Q2. I am not sure whether the country I bought my phone from has got the update yet... So is there anyway I can check that...
P.S I got my phone from dubai..
But I live in India...
Thanks.

Can is flash the stock firmware downloaded from Sammobile.Com directly from clockwork mod?
And does it matter if I download firmware of another country??

Give a try to the temporary unroot option in the superuser app...
Not guaranteed to work...
Download stock rom through sammobile.com and flash through odin only...

If you already have CWM recovery why not use CWM to flash a custom 4.1.2 rom thats based on Stock firmware (like Android Revolution HD)?
Thats just as easy, has more support, rooted and you'll have future updates faster as well.
I already downloaded omega v34 but didn't flash it because people have lot of issues with it.. Lag, random reboot etc. Stock rom will be more stable I guess..
I haven't tried revolution though...
I'll try it now..
Any other rom you recommend?
Thanks!

I had the same experience, Omega had loads of launcher redraws and sudden lag. No such experience on ARHD with Perseus kernel. That kernel now even has the exynos exploit fixed.
Nope, all other roms i've tried i never used more then a few hours.
Can you give me a link to the ARHD page?
Thanks!

Yeah, everytime you flash the stock image, you'll have to root the phone again... but so what?? I have my mobile sine 8 weeks and i think i flashed it 10times now, and lots of custom-rom installations, configuring the phone etc....
It's not a hard work, you just have to read carefully BEFORE you start rooting, modding or whatever. This forum is awesome and till now i really found an answer to my questions everytime without bothering the ither guys with a question that is already answered a thousand times just have to use the search... so, good luck and have fun with your rooted mobile. By the way, i recommend the Omega-ROM for galaxy S2 and S3, the guys are.doing a great job with their ROMs. If you own a S3 LTE (i9305) i recommend the Pandoriam ROM, works best for me
Best regards

Haha.. Thanks buddy.
Btw, I am not new to rooting, I have flashed at least 15 rom's on my old phone(galaxy ace)
But I was not a member of XDA then.. I just used to read....
But since s3 is much more expensive I wanted to be absolutely clear about the smallest of things...
Because with great power comes great responsibility.

easiest Rooting method gs2 ics?

im sorry about this noob question but im new to this forum and have not received it yet however im just trying to do my homework first!
after seeking out many rooting methods this seems the easiest http://forum.xda-developers.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=29347388 so here is my predicament the firmware is on ics and if i use this method can i go on to install jb roms without flashing basebands etc.. , i know it might be a silly question but with other devices i have had i had to unlock the bootloader howerver i understand its not required on gs2 ? also is there a easier rooting method? without using odin

Am I right to presume that I can flash this via sg2 recovery and it will replace the recovery with philz recovery
Also does this rooting method stop the emmc brick bug?
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda premium
I believe philz has patched that particular problem.....read the thread thoroughly and see if you can find reference to 'emmc cap erase command'.....I *think* this is the command code that causes the problems........
