[Q] AT&T unlcoked Motorola Atrix 4G apn issues - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have used every apn settings I could find. I cannot find one that works. I cannot send/receive mms. I cannot use the phones browser. And now I cannot even use my apps. Seriously there has to be something. I have read forums from different sites where certain apns worked for people with the same phone. Why will mine not work? About to switch from net 10 to straight talk.

AT&T and Tmobile Network Settings

Anyone have the AT&T and Tmobile network settings? I tried using HTC Connection Setup with the windows mobile standard 6.1 and it doesn't seem to work. Is there a version that does?
Check here for the ATT settings and here for the T-Moible ones.
Thanks and thank you for not telling me to search I've spent the last hour going through archived posts for it.
No problem Actually, i didn't use XDA for this one, but rather Google.
I noticed these dates on those pages are kinda old. Are these current settings to use? I have a Tmobile Wing and wanted to be able to use the AT&T sim card on there for the internet, mms, text, etc. I know it will not do the 3G, but wanted to get it working to try it out.
Any suggestions?

Cant connect to internet after root.

After i tried to root unsucessfully i went back and flashed the stock .tar from the General section. booted phone after and it would not connect to the internet. So i flashed the stock kernel via Odin. Still no internet. I cant connect to the Play store or the internet. I searched but did not find anything like this. Im on AT&T.
This has something to do with the phone. something is not flashing right. I took the sim out of my wifes SGS2 that is working fine in her phone to try the internet on mine. Still no connection. The GPS does not work nor any of the data services if im not on wifi. I have flashed back to stock and still no go. Anyone have any Ideas?
Menu>Settings>Wireless and Networks>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names>Menu> Reset to default
See if that works/helps.
Flash the GB modem.

-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
Tried Both. just tried the GB modem and still no connection.
I can make calls and receive texts but if i try to go to the play store or on the internet it does not work. No GPS either. Says no connection.
Found a FIX
Mods please sticky this.
There's been several threads with people saying that they are getting intermittent slow or no data connections. Some people suspected throttling.
I did some digging around and found that it is a common issue on all ATT LTE phones. I have read up on various fixes, found one that worked, and will summarize it here.
Create a new APN that is EXACTLY the same as your current one with two exceptions:
1. APN: phone
2. APN type: internet
Save the APN. You should now have 2 APNs. Make sure that the original AT&T PTA APN is the selected one with the green dot.
What we've done here is replace the APN just for internet, and left everything else the same. If you try setting the type of the new APN for everything, it breaks MMS.
There are several dead spots in my town where I get incredibly slow or no data , despite my wife's iPhone working just fine. I made this change and now it works perfectly. Same top speeds for upload and download.
The only thing I cannot test is LTE, since I am not in an LTE area. From what I've read, this is an LTW APN so it should work.

How to root i777 ssg2 on straight talk??

Hey everyone!! Been a while since ive rooted and flashed and i had some questions.
Im using my At&t ssg2 with Straight Talk service and was wondering can i still root my phone?? I didnt know if it would affect the apn settings or not. Im still on gingerbread 2.3.6. Just wanting to root so i can check out different roms.
i also want to know this
Rooting should not affect the apn settings. But if you want to be safe, write down the settings, and then you can manually enter them if they are changed.
Ive been using my GS2 on Straight Talk. Im not sure if you need to change the apn. I can receive phone calls without changing anything. However I do have apn settings for ST. Some people have different apn settings but I have what works for me. If there isnt anything in a spot leave it blank when you manually put it in the new APN. Here is what I have. there is a huge thread in here on ST. Search is your friend!! One more thing use Creepys guides to root your phone. All the info you need is there. READ THEM and READ them again so you understand what your doing!!!!
Name-Whatever you want to call it I use Straight Talk
APN-att.mvno
Port-80
MMSC-http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy-66.209.11.33
MCC-310
MNC-410
APN type-default,mms,supl (use commas between words)

[Q] Straight Talk AT&T APN Settings

I cannot for the life of me get Straight Talk data or MMS working. Phone calls and text work perfectly though.
I bought it online from Swappa, completely stock and followed the Straight Talk instructions that came with the SIM. I never got anything, not even a hint of data. Browsers would immediately say no connection, pic messages would just spin and nothing would happen.
So I went online and tried every single APN that people said "This worked for me," tried them all, restart-my-phone party-2013 and still nothing no connection ever.
So I thought maybe it was the AT&T stock image that wasn't letting me connect. I just flashed to Vanilla Rootbox and have been trying APN settings for the past hour or so. Still nothing, nothing ever changes. My signal has full bars but says ROAM. Which is odd because my brother has AT&T Straight Talk and gets data just fine in the same location I am now.
Am I missing something? Mobile Data is enabled, I've tried enabling data roaming multiple times to no effect.
What could possibly be the issue?

Yeah those were some of the first ones I tried on both the stock and on this ROM.
I enter them, restart my phone, when I open Chrome it just immediately says
"You are offline. Wi-Fi and mobile data are turned off."
Which is not true, because settings clearly shows Data is enabled in two different places. This is so frustrating.
Is there any way to check to make sure the radio that enables data is still working? I've thought about taking it in to the AT&T store to have them test it because I'm about out of ideas about what it could be.

You could try flashing another radio? But if not, I'm sure the people at AT&T could help. Down here they are pretty helpful and friendly no matter what.
Not sure if is your problem but I know with snowjb I and several others had to edit the default XML file then delete the lg one and then goop into APN settings and "reset to default" and select the added ST apn

Hello back everyone. I solved the issue!
It wasn't a problem with my APN settings, it ended up being a problem in the activation of my SIM card with straight talk.
I went through the port process and got my number moved to straight talk and my calls and texts were working fine so I figured it was a matter of just fiddling with the APN settings until I found some that worked. I had heard so many stories about this being the case. Unfortunately, in my case it wasn't true. I tried everything.
Good news is: I called Straight Talk and asked them what else I could do. They walked me through settings the APN settings, which was super frustrating, I literally had the correct settings memorized at this point. Then they asked me what phone I had. I told the CSR and she said "okay, I switched something on our side, restart your phone and see if it works." I was dubious because I had done this so many times but I guess she wasn't lying to me because I restarted and it has worked fine from then on.
tl;dr AT&T Optimus G works great on Straight Talk with an AT&T sim. Just call them if the provided APN doesn't work.
For anyone else with this problem:
I was having a similar issue after just switching (from a working Nokia Lumia 520) to a new LG Optimus G. In my case, the APN settings from my old phone (and the site I got them from) appeared to be out of date.
I went to the Straight Talk site, logged in, and went to Support -> HOW TO UPDATE DATA SETTINGS, entered my phone number and selected Android 4+. This gave me some different settings that are now working correctly.

Straight Talk APN Settings?

Hi all. I just got a Verizon LG G3 and am trying to use it with straight talk. I put in my sim card and I'm able to make calls and receive texts but the data isn't working. None of the APN settings I've tried work. I've been using the same sim card on my Galaxy Note 3 and everything worked fine on that. I rooted and installed Cyanogenmod 13 on it but it doesn't work on that or on stock. Does anyone know what i could do to get my phone working on straight talk? Thanks for any help you can offer.
Never mind I got it working. Ended up chatting with straight talk customer support and they were able to get it to work.
I am having the same issue right now. What did straight talk do to fix it?
So, after searching these forums the APN has changed several times throughout the course of the year. The latest dated change has the APN as TRACFONE.VZWENTP and this is the one that currently works as of the date of this post.
