Has anyone found or developed a contacts widget that simulates the stock favorite contacts widget?

Since updating to official o2 2.2 my calendar widget no longer displays my agenda. Is this a known bug? Any ideas for a fix?

I had the same problem but realised that items on your agenda will be shown on your calendar screen a week before they are due.

When tapping on the stock calendar widget you are taken to the last view you were in on the calendar app, so if you want to see your agenda when you tap it view your agenda in the calendar app and then tap the home button. I don't what time frame that the widget displays your events for and I do not see a setting for that.
I recommend Launcherpro calendar widget or Android Agenda Widget.

If I add the agenda widget on the standard TWlauncher then it fills the screen and shows my calendar but if I try to use the widget with any other launcher like EX or ADW then I just get a small box without any appointments, anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Does anyone know of a quality gmail widget app? I prefer the gmail app over the mail app stock on my phone but I would like a widget so I can scroll through the messages on ky home screen. Any help would be appreciated.
Can anyone recommend a scrolling agenda widget?
I cannot seem to find one that actually works (a number of them cannot sync calendar contacts after enabling scrolling).
