Hello.
I have an Internation HTC One X+ on the Vodafone UK Network.
Few months ago I unlocked bootloader, rooted the phone and installed Lloir's CM mod for it with no problems... Until I tried to update to the newest version of the rom.
Google play store kept consistently crashing despite me reflashing google apps, clearing caches etc basically everything you guys had previously told others to do on here.
So I tried to go back to a previous backup but ran into similar difficulties.
This is when I thought **** it I'll go back to stock....
Long story short my phone is now stuck in a version of CM where certain apps = playstore included no longer function.
I tried to install a RUU to no avail, it errors 170 half way through installation.
I cannot follow the previous steps around rooting and installing roms as for some reason my phone shows as totally empty on my PC, no folders no nothing.
Errrm what else.
So yeah I'm totally stuck to be fair all I wanna do is go back stock now and get OTA updates and be a normal user but I can't even do that. Pleeeeeeeeeeeease help. I know people like me are a massive annoyance but I just want my phone back
Thanks

It errors, I'll have to try it again later and replicate the error so I can give you the exact problem..
However I've been tinkering further and now I'm completely romless.
Thanks for your offer of help, I'll post info about the RUU error as soon as I get chance to get back at my computer.
Long and short of it is it says that I'm not using the right RUU for my phone but I am...>_<

what version of hboot have you got? if it is 1.40 then there is no RUU for you device at this time.
you could try installing twrp recovery and "sideloading" a ROM on there, then install the boot.img and hopefully you should be sorted
cheers
Start in bootloader and give us information you get

this should do the job of going back to stock
you will have to relock your boot loader, you can use hansoon toolkit if you are not sure
then you can click this link here:
http://www.feartech.co.uk/rom/RUU_E...Radio_3.1204.167.31_release_289473_signed.exe
i have uploaded it on my website, this will wipe everything of your phone and will take it back to stock then you can do the OTA's
thanks

Flash this RUU for the EVO 3D GSM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208485
Just choose the RUU that fits your devices (DONT Flash the Sprint ones its for CDMA HTC EVO 3D)
Flash the EU ones , this will get you back to Gingerbread (2.3.3) and from there you can update your phone OTA for ICS. Before flashing ICS Roms, YOU NEED S-OFF ! , S-ON only unlocks the bootloader not the boot partition ! .

So your problem is solved?
and, you tried Installing KingCobra 1.6.
To install 1.6 you HAVE to be S-OFF in order to flash the new firmware.
However, if you want to use KingCobra, download version 1.5, it will work perfectly on an S-ON device!
Hope this helps!

Exactly the same for me. I did this many times before -- This time it bootloops -- seems like something goes wrong with the /boot partition. Could be an error in writing the boot cause even that I have S-OFF i use the smartflash method which worked perfectly for me till now... I think it has something to do with the recovery. Maybe you try the latest TWR - as long as you have s-off you can flash any recovery over fastboot. Hope you get it back rollin' cause I have no USB-Cable though
So I got it --- The issue that's causing this error was 4ext like expected. Just flash CWM recovery(not touch!) (mind the button mapping -- Powerbutton = back, camerabutton = accept) then make a factory reset, flash your rom and then it should(!) work Tell me if that worked for you!
long story short i have to send in my phone for repairs i was trying to get rid of my custom rom and install a stock rom but some how i wiped out the entire phone i do however managed to get twrp recovery but can't really do much in there as no files are in my phone and it wont let me side load the stock rom help please?
Ok now dont panic !
Does your phone still have eat least 70% of battery left ? if yes then reboot into the bootloader and relock it and then run the RUU file whitch will return your phone back to stock, and for more detailed info im sry beacuse im currenty on my phone

What is your hboot version?
I hope you have Android SDK installed and running in your system?
I guess I have just run into the same issue. I wasn't able to find any help in the "Device Essentials" thread, unfortunately.
I have no rom. ADB doesnt work when phone is in bootloader or recovery (twrp 2.6.3.0) and I can't mount the usb storage to get the rom onto my phone. I miss the days of my samsung captivate....It was so easy!! Thanks for reading.
I guess the key point here is that I can't sideload anything because adb isnt working in recovery. My hboot is 1.40.

Did you try one of the toolkits like Windroid or Hasoons Toolkit. I would use Hasoon2000's first to return device to stock condition, and then try Windroid if that does not work.

this should fix it. if that RUU does not work, try the link to the RUU I gave for parkerdjohnson

Please provide more details;
Do you have a T-Mobile device? --Did you change your CID?
What ROM?
What recovery?
Bootloader unlocked? S-Off?
What hboot did you have before flashing (stock? custom?)
How exactly did you pull the firmware?
These details would be very helpful.

Yes I have a T-Mobile Device, yes its S-OFF, CID is SUPERCID (1111111), had Firewater HBOOT previously.

i used WinRAR and pulled the firmware.zip from the OTA file, then booted into rebootRUU mode and "fastboot flash zip firmware.zip" the it told me to flush again as per usual, i did it again, then when i went to reboot, i was in QHSUSB_DLOAD

Maybe an issue with SuperCID...
You should read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2753631
People had a similar problem and a few were able to get back into hboot by plugging the phone to computer and persistently pressing power and volume down and/or volume up in different combinations. If you can get back to the boot loader flash a know working firmware. It's worth a shot... Here are some relevant comments from that thread...

Guys, be persistent in pressing power+vol buttons while usb connected to PC, it took me about 10-15 minutes but now I am back to fastboot!
Any ideas what would be the best course of action now?

Just checking- someone said it could be an issue with the CID, and that would definitely be "an issue" ; )

That right there is what bricked your phone. I honestly don't know why people care so much about the red message on boot to flash a modded Hboot. Most devs on the One international forum are starting to pull of their modded Hboots as people usually don't know flashing a modded one can brick phones on future updates or so.
I haven't manually flashed just firmware. I am s-off with supercid. To get most current I loaded the last tmous ruu then let it go through all updates until it was at the latest sense 6, then reloaded twrp and my latest nandroid.

Firmware Update
I have been looking to update to the latest firmware on my tmobile htc one, but i also have a custom hboot that i got from here " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2497712 " so im holding off on flashing the newest firmware, because it will probably brick my phone. But what i am wondering is does anyone know where i can just fine the 1.44 tmobile hboot that i was currently on?? so that i dont have to flash the stock RUU and start all back over from scratch ?? I could just flash back to the 1.44 stock hboot and then upgrade to the newest firmware without bricking my phone ??

Which RUU.exe are you attempting to run? If it is this one: T-Mobile HTC One 4.3 3.24.531.3 RUU then your hboot is too high. I would suggest trying this one: T-Mobile USA | 4.4.2 | Sense 6 | 5.14.531.11. Also, since you are S-ON the bootloader needs to be locked/relocked for you to run a RUU. You can lock it in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB with this command: fastboot oem lock
If Viper is running on your One without an issue then you have an operating ROM and the missing OS is due to the custom recovery you used. If you are using TWRP, I would recommend TWRP 2.6.3.3 or TWRP 2.6.3.4 or TWRP 2.7.1.2! The last one has some changes built in that help eliminate the issue of a blank OS.

Check out this post for the TWRP nandroid, firmware and stock recovery for your phone. You will need to unlock your bootloader to flash the recovery or TWRP. If you decide to flash the firmware your bootloader should remain locked. In fact, I would flash the firmware first, then install TWRP to install the nandroid.

Can you connect the phone to a computer and is it recognized?
If yes, then I would recommend flashing the firmware. It contains hboot and you may have an issue with hboot.
Here is the procedure for flashing the firmware. If your phone is already in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB you can skip the first line.
Code:
[B][I]adb reboot bootloader[/I][/B]
After that, type:
Code:
[B][I]fastboot oem rebootRUU [/I][/B]
NOTE: You should see a silver HTC logo come up on your phone after executing this command.
NOTE: if this command freezes, just disconnect the USB cable and hold the power and volume down buttons until the device reboots. Then, repeat the steps above again.
Finally:
Code:
[B][I]fastboot flash zip firmware.zip[/I][/B]
Repeat the same command: IMPORTANT
Code:
[B][I]fastboot flash zip firmware.zip[/I][/B]
NOTE: The green bar on the phone may not go to 100% of the bar ... but If you see completed on your computer command window, wait for a few seconds and move on.
Last Step:
Code:
[B][I]fastboot reboot[/I][/B]

Problem is now i didn't backup like a dumb arse my working OS and flashed a bad one or maybe the radio or some crap needed to be done first since it was going from 4.4.2 to 5+. In short all i have is recovery and sideload and every rom i download fails to sideload on the phone side and says sucessful on the pc cmd window. Need help with this please

Wipe data, cache, dalvik, put the appropriate ROM for your carrier/build on SD card or root of internal storage and flash. All else fails run an RUU, bring you back to 100% stock then you can properly reinstall the custom recovery of your choice.

SkyDragon M8 Sense Rom installs but doesn't boot (tried 2 versions of this rom 700mb and a 1.6gb), believe i tried a couple other roms in my phones section there's only like 9 of them there. I have the stock RUU but fails to detect the phone and fails i think it's meant to sense a turned on functional phone i don't see any kind of recovery method with the stock ruu. All i want is a rom to work with Straight talk the stock os even being unlocked and rooted with su still shoved the default APN down my throat(I even paid 2.99$ for the SQLlite and deleted all other APNs still won't let me check off a APN profile i created as default) making my signal on ST flakey and couldn't get mms to work just picture txting wasn't working. So i went full on like my old HTC One X but dived head first too fast didn't backup my old OS and didn't know firewater was gone till i was at that step of the procedure and it was too late Oh and using TWRP 2.7.1.0 it's the highest i can use before it won't boot.

Boot into fastboot, check device manager (if youre on windows) for any unknown drivers and install them if you can. Then run the RUU I posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/help/100-stock-4-4-4-ruu-t3017594 which would update you to 4.4.4.

You'll have to setup your APN and mms message size settings for straight talk, that should fix the text messaging problems.

No matter what message app i try i can't send pictures or large txts my mms is borked and to make matters worse when i installed this rom i must of removed the stock HTC messaging app so i can't find any settings to set the mms size limits. I'd like to figure out how to put the stock messaging app back on the phone without redoing the whole OS
Using Handcent and hangouts and i see no size limit options within the apps or anywhere in the phone settings. Looked up my phone specifically and where the option/s is supposed to be the said section of options is not even there.
If you've got a stock rom downloaded to your computer or sd card you can unzip it and look in system app folder and find the htc messaging apks. Then just install them as system apps and fix permissions.

Why do you think that partition, in particular? If you are talking about boot.img, that gets re-flashed any time your flash a ROM.
Try fastboot erase cache, and flash recovery by fastboot. If Clockwork doesn't work, try TWRP.
If you indeed have some corrupted partition(s), your best bet is to RUU. You are non-specific about what error codes, so its hard to help you troubleshoot why the RUU failed. Try a more updated RUU, such as 2.23.

Error 155 Unknown Error it says, do i need to relock the bootloader? I could never find a way to S-Off the device so idk if its that or corrupted partition like you said but all my services on my phone crash constantly. But that's better then aokp_task650_m8_kitkat_5.13.2014 that one won't even make it through setup the services crash so often the badseed rom is the only other rom i found that is actually usable. Oh my RUU is 2.0.16 how can i find the newest one for my HTC One M8?

You always need to relock the bootloader to run RUU with s-on. No exceptions.
Hopefully this will clear up your RUU problem, although the RUU number you just supplied above doesn't make any sense (doesn't correspond to any RUU for this device) Where did you find it, and its not what you referenced in Post #5 above.
CavyS already supplied a link for the "latest" AT&T RUU in Post #4 above. Although be aware, that if you are successful in running the latest RUU, it will render sunshine unable to achieve s-off. I suggest RUU to 1.58 or 2.23 (if you want s-off), as those should still be supported by sunshine.

I think that is the version of the actual installer software (.exe) not the ROM version it will install on your phone. Kitkat for AT&T would be either 1.58 or 2.23. That number will be in the actual file name of the RUU, so just look there (actually a much longer string of numbers starting with 1.58 or 2.23, but I've abbreviated them for convenience).

You install the sunshine APK, run it, and sunshine will tell you whether it can s-off the phone or not. You won't be charged unless it can successfully s-off the phone. I haven't heard of any folks here that got charged, and sunshine couldn't s-off the device.

Wow thanks for the info! Before i try this can after S-OFF/rooting/SU can i install the unlocked/developer ruu from HTC and get HTC OTA and get away from this bloated carrier branded crap? So much in the forums and i can't find a answer to this question anywhere.
Update: I have the stock.img and need the stock zip file... please help that is all i need. i tried the stock RUU but for some reason my computer will not run the application and i don't know any other way to fix my phone other than adding the stock zip file to my phones sd card and installing it thru recovery.
Update: I fix my computer problem with the RUU not starting, it starts now and runs all the way thru then says it's the wrong one. I got the at&t ruu off the htc site.
UPDATE: I got my phone off of ebay, heres what the item was listed under.
SR HTC Desire 610 8GB Black AT&T Unlocked Any GSM 4G LTE Android Smartphone
Model: Desire 610
Bundled Items: 4G LTE May not be compatible with T-Mobile, Doesn't work with Verizon or Sprint
Contract: Without Contract
Lock Status: Network Unlocked
Operating System: Android
Unlock Status: Carrier Unlocked

SO... it's a AT&T Unlocked GSM phone? so what RUU do i need to use?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know exactly what all you need but here goes nothing.
I unlocked and rooted my phone a few nights ago using, http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-610/general/info-htcdev-unlock-root-t2844323
also had TWRP recovery installed.
Yesterday i was playing around in recovery mode trying to clean up my phone and restore it to factory settings. I accidentally deleted my system.. and when i try go to reboot it says No OS Installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?
So i rebooted to fastboot and clicked power down.. and when i try to reboot it, it gets stuck on the HTC start up screen untill my phone dies or i go thru all the trouble to take the battery out.
So i deleted the OS System, and can't boot my phone up. I can get to recovery and fastboot just fine tho.
Bigger problem is, before this happened i had to Factory Restore my computer, so i no longer have any of the files i had to download to unlock and root my phone.
Anyone know what i need to do to be able to use my phone again? I'd really rather not have to go back stock ROM but if it's the only choice i will.
Please help me fix this, I can't go without my phone and I really can't afford a new one right now.
Thank you...
Dawniebear

Try to reboot recovery
Install CM11 or stock ATT ROM from xda.
Move it to device.
Flash in recovery!
If your computer won't detect the 610, put it on USB OTG and connect to phone and flash.
Good luck

Well, looking at your 1st post(see exert pasted in above) you have somehow re-locked your bootloader. So the first thing you will have to do is go back through your emails and find the unlock_code.bin file that htcdev emailed you when you first unlocked it and use wndroid or fastboot to to unlock your bootloader again with that code. Recovery won't let you flash back anything while the bootloader is locked.

Every tutorial i have tried has said to relock bootloader before using the ruu. oh btw i have fixed the ruu not opening problem but it ran all the way thru then said it was the wrong one. I don't understand, my desire is at&t and i got the at&t ruu from the htc page.
Do i need to go s-off?

Since you somehow relocked bootloader, unlock it using windroid.
Then transfer cm11 or stock ATT ROM and flash in recovery

follow this step by step
1 - Use windroid tool found here and your unlock_code.bin file to unlock your bootloader.
2 - If you don't still have TWRP installed use the above mentioned windroid tool to install TWRP.
3 - reboot to recovery (TWRP).
4 - Select the "WIPE" button in TWRP and swipe to do a factory reset.
5 - Return to main menu in TWRP and use the "INSTALL" button to install CM11 from here. or the "RESTORE" button to install the stock at&t backup from here.
6 - When instaling 1 of the above follow all instuction from the thread you get the rom from and the then once flashed hit the "WIPE DALVIC AND CACHE" button then reboot.
7 - You will now have a fresh intalation of the rom you chose so just set it up and enjoy.

Just use windroid. First unzip the file I attached. Connect phone to PC. Start windroid. At top of windroid select COMMANDS. FLASH. FLASH RECOVERY. It will open an explorer window, just navigate to where you unzipped the file I sent you and select it. It will then flash the recovery. Once finished reboot to recovery.
Good day sorry to bother you again i tried to do that but now i cant enter recovery mode twrp, i click there but only goes to htc logo for a sec then goes back to fast boot
