Make sure you have multiple widgets checked in settings. Then you can pan left or right and add which widgets you want. I dont think you can replace the clock and date widget that shows on the initial screen. Could be wrong. And theres a few apps on the market that allow lock screen customizations.

You can change the default lock screen.
After you add the widget you want to use as your default, you can do 1 of 2 things.
1. You can long press on the original and drag it to the top and drop it in the trash icon to delete it.
2. You can long press the new widget and drag it to the position that the original is in now.

is that a serious question?
I use it to change brightness and enable/disable bluetooth when getting into my car.
oops double post.
You do know all of that is available in the drop down tray. Including brightness. Just slide your finger across the tray left and right

not if it's on auto
plus, why not use it.
Maybe the OP doesn't feel like sliding down the notification bar.
To turn on BT I can
1) Hit the button on the power widget on my home screen
or
2) slide down notificiation, hit the BT icon, which opens up the BT settings, click enable BT... then hit back to return to my homescreen.
^ apologies, it just doesn't seem "simple clean" to me.....
"simple clean" is referring to the wallpaper... not the widgets/apps setup
eww, toooo many "samsung" on this phone already. =P
I kind of like it.
+1 to frankencat.
I love the samsung aspect to this phone.

Is there a way to resize the widgets? When I add the stock weather widget it only ads the small widget instead of the larger one that is there when the phone is powered up for the first time. I'm sure i read tbe widgets can be resized? Any tips? Thanks

Yep! If your hold down on the widget until the 'Remove' box appears and then let go you'll be able to resize a number of the Widgets that come with the S2

Only certain widgets can be resized, press and hold on a widget for a few seconds and when you let go, it wil be outlined then you can drag the bottom corner to where you want resizing the wiget.

Ahh yeah! cool... thanks for the tip
Thank you! I've been going insane trying to figure out how to resize the widgets after I accidentally triggered the resize box once.
I get loads of Emails offering to resize my widget .
jje
I find that now under other launcher, such as apex and nova:
the resizeable samsung widgets do not work.
I mean, yes, apex and nova can resize widget but the result is just plain wrong.
for example: samsung yahoo finance widget.
under touchwiz, it originally at 4x1, but you can resize it to 2x2, 2x4, etc.
but under apex or nova, when i resize it, the size does not change, even if I resize the widget to full screen, it still remains at 4x1, it doesnt expand/shrink vertically and horizontally, the widget just centers itself to the whole screen.
Somebody knows how to fix this?
Or some ICS launchers, other than touchwiz, that can work with these widgets?
For some unknown reason, almost all ics custom roms do not like touchwiz.
I would like for the fullscreen desk clock with the digital clock and weather to be on my home screen vs the flip clock anyone know how I could get it?
Thanks in advance,
Phantomwraith

Check out "animated weather widget "
In the market.
Other options are diferent Rom, or maybe a launcher like the one I use sometimes called "go launcher ex".
Total custumization of your dt, also can change the locker.
Do some research , there's tons of clock widgets.

here's the screen I was trying to get, seems to be a custom HTC thing but can't really use it for some reason.

it does work in dock mode, however I would like to use it as a widget on my home screen of my phone, It's probably not something you can do I did go with an app from the market though that gives me what I was basically looking for without those 2 extra features near the bottom it was called AK digital clock widget.
however I still think it would be awesome to get that as a place-able widget on the home screen.
I want to be able to scroll my home screens vertically like you can in the app draw. I use apex pro as my launcher. This would be awesome.

It's a launcher-specific feature, so you won't be able to do that with Apex. I did do a quick Google search though, since I thought the idea is interesting. There are a few launchers that do that in different ways:
Crome
Launcher 7
Crazy Home
Someone in a forum said Sweeter Home could do it, but then again people in a forum don't always read the post they're replying to very well and might have just been talking about the app drawer.
Sweeter home will scroll once up once down and side to side. It is the most customizable, but takes a while to get the hang of it.

You can do that with sweeter home. It takes a while to set up (you can start with a template). It takes a while, steep learning curve, but nothimg comes close as far as customization ability

Ahh it found their home page and seems like they havent releashed a new version yet

I'm not sure if I worded that right, but every time I click the little message icon on the screen for messaging it always takes me to create a new message rather than show me my entire inbox. Is there any way I can change this?
It is the message icon above the music bar on the right side of the screen, to the right of the phone icon with the arrow pointing to it.

Hmmmmm, I long press on the screen and I get a menu that has Browse Themes, Themer Settings, Smart Categories, Apps, Widgets, Homescreens, Advanced and Show Off. I cannot see a "configure."
I figured it out. I just added a new shortcut over the icon and then made the new icon transparent.
