Amaze not turning on mysteriously! Confirmed not a battery issue - HTC Amaze 4G

Hi all,
Need your help with an issue.
I have this HTC Desire 4G (Asian non-branded, non-carrier version).
I had successfully rooted, S-off'ed, Super CID and then had gradually upgraded to ICS and then installed Cyanogen 10.1, which was working perfectly since 2 weeks or so.
Just today, I encountered this strange problem, when for some reason I turned it off and then tried to turn it on again, it never did!
Even the led charge light is not showing up. It seems like dead!! But for no known reason.
I have exchanged the battery with new and charged ones, almost tried every trick and every step which could be done. Its even not running into boot-loader.
Yesterday, my brother's same phone was almost dead when the s-off for his phone went wrong during the wire trick. We got rid of this problem by removing the internal small cell and putting it back, and the phone was alive again.
Will it work for my phone as well? or will I have to do something else?
Please help!! its very frustrating
Regards,
Zeeshan

Your device is probably bricked. If it was showing a 'QHSUSB_DLOAD' driver issue when you connected it to your pc then the Amaze unbrick project would've helped.
Where did you buy this phone? In Lahore?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S II Wont Turn On - Please Help

Hi
Today I rebooted my Samsung Galaxy S 2 and for some reason it is not working anymore.
No idea why this has happened
I tried everything Recovery Mode - Cant get into
Download Mode I cant get into
Tried removing the battery then putting it back in still nothing at all
On the back I can feel the phone is getting warm but nothing on the screen
It was working fine yesterday and I havent done anything to the phone yesterday
Please help if you know anything?
Thanks
Sounds like a hardware fail. I hate to say it but it sounds like returning it is the option.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Did you have any update fails recently? Update fails were the reason some Galaxy S phones would not turn on.
Hi
Thanks for the reply
No.
It has the latest software so there wasn't a need for update
It was working fine for the first hour this morning and then I rebooted my phone because it froze but now won't turn on at all.
Should of backed up my data!
The device gets warm but nothing on the screen tried everything that is available on this forum.
Do I have to pay for this if it's faulty I only had it about a month now I think?
When plugged in on the usb charger, if you toggle the volume rocker will the display turn on and show the battery level?

[Q] [HELP PLEASE] HTC Evo 3D CDMA sudden death :(

Hello there. I´m worried because my Evo 3D CDMA won´t boot or charge at all. The red light is not turning on. All happened apparently with no reason, I left the phone there a few minutes, then it was dead. Maybe if I tell what I did before can help...
I had installed a few minutes ago the Virus ROM 3.0, I flash roms almost every 3 days, so I´m used to it. So, it worked fine after installation. I began to play a few games, when the battery died. I conected it to the charger, waited a few minutes and turned it on again (still plugged to the charger), it started normally. Then I had to answer a phone call, when I got back, the phone was dead!! "Maybe the charger got disconected" I thought. But the charger was fine, I tried many different chargers and nothing.
The red light is not turning on.
I´ve tried many different buttons combinations (camera+power), etc. I can´t get into fastboot (power+volume down). I´m S-ON HBOOt 1.5. So there is no CWM. I have to use windows CMD every time I need to flash Something.
Can this be a battery issue (considering that when the phone died it had about 3% of battery), or is it a fried motherboard, perhaps? It had happened before, but I removed the batttery for a few minutes and It worked.
But I´m scared because the phone is brand new, and it has less of two months of average using. And don´t tell me to go to Sprint service since I´m in El Salvador and I got the phone at eBay.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
My fiest EVO 3d did this, the guy told me that it was a lemon. I got a instant replacement, not sure if its in the discovered mode by a dev,
Pull the battery, unplug charger, then battery back in and try turn on.

Actually we have CDMA in El Salvador too... The rom installed fine, and was running fine, the phone died while.. let me remember... Ah, I was installing a Chainfire 3D plugin, but I had never problems with Chainfire in any rom before, so the big deal is,
1) Is it a faulty battery? I remember once, the battery died the red light started blinking. Maybe the battery is bad.
2) Is it hard bricked? or soft bricked?
3) If it is bricked, is there a way to restore it?

I doubt it was bricked due to the phone wouldn't boot at all when you got it.. Did you update the radios or software when you got it? I know the latest software for CDMA is 2.17 virus R75 to R80 3.0 eternity is based and built off it...
My guess is the battery is shot I would try that you can find them cheap..... So the red light doesn't come on at all when you plug it in with the battery in the phone..?
You would really have to spank a phone to brick it... If the hardware isn't broken you should be able to restore a bricked phone... That takes skill and alot of reading....
What other chargers did you try? Could be the usb cord is bad or the charger... Battery could be no good. Last thing it could be is a bad charger port... Maybe..

I got the phone brand new. I have
1) Unlocked bootloaders via HTC metod
2) Installed tons of roms (I`m a flashaholic)
3) Never installed an incorrect ROM or kernel.
And yes, no light at all when I plug the phone to the charger. it`s totally dead.
UPDATE
I have discovered something about a RUU. check it out:
"This is a link to the Evo stock RUU and a description of what it does. It isn’t anything that wasn’t available already online, I just like providing a central location to get everything.
What is this?
RUU is the way that our phones are flashed at the factory. It flashes all the factory images on to your phone.
What can I do with it?
You can use this to “unroot” your phone before sending it in for warranty work.
Use it to flash back to stock if you are having any random issues on your phone that you can’t fix.
It can 100% flash your phone back to how it came from the factory. As long as your phone turns on at all (even if it’s not booting) then you should be able to save it by using this.
This means your phone is virtually unbrickable, unless you go flashing a radio or SPL or something that you shouldn’t.
How do I use it?
Download the file below and run the exe.
What else do I need to know?
This will set your phone back to 100% bone stock.
You don’t need to run this unless you are trying to return your phone to stock. You won’t get anything special from running it."
IF I RUN THIS PROGRAM, IS IT POSSIBLE I CAN GET MY PHONE BACK TO LIFE?

Also you would have to relock your phone.. Once it was relocked you could run this...

Happened to me before. Try leaving it on charge for 8 hrs or so and remove the battery and replace every so often. BTW I got it on virus eternity as well. Also, I would get an extended battery to kill two birds with one stone if the previous method doesn't work.

Hello guys, I'm experimenting the same issue! It was working like a charm, then I left without simcard in airplane mode, but with wifi on.
When out from wifi coverage, it turned off (maybe because of the battery drain) and can't bring it back to life!
This is just incredible, I can't believe there is no way to wake up it.
I'm trying to charge with its charger, with PC connection and nothing happens: red light for a little while and everything off again after a couple of seconds ... I'm getting nervous :-(
I don't think the phone is bricked or a bad battery. When you plug the charger in, turn the light off in the room and see if the phone charging led is very dim. Sometimes when my battery is very low and I put it in the charger it does this. The other scenario is that the phone may be in download mode which I doubt. If it is then you can follow the last steps from the hboot 1.50 downgrade guide.

[Q] Help: Atrix 2, wont switch on

Hi all,
i have search but with no luck so pardon me if I may have missed some similar thread.
I had recently rooted my phone and it did worked fine for a day. But then at some point while unlocking the screen, it froze and wont respond. Even back switch for turning phone on button was not working. I removed and put back battery thinking to hard reboot my phone.. but it has not turned since then. I was charging the phone just before this happened so battery is almost 100% full. It wont even show any sign of life not even blinking led...
What can be done, is phone bricked due to rooting.. but I doubt this, because it was working fine for a day. Can I take this to AT&T store, will they find out about root, as this phone wont just turn on at all..
Please help. any information will be highly appreciated..

Am not quite sure, but i guess sleep of death (sod) is an SD card issue. Remove sd card and then see if u get sod. I found in galaxy tab thread that sod was happening due to incompatibility of sd card with device. So try to see without sd card for a day or 2?

You may have a bad battery or a bad phone. You may need to have either one replaced. I have had this on devices before and it is difficult to figure out which one is messing up.
Does it go into sleep-of-death while charging? If so, it is most definitely the device.

It has not SoD'd whilst charging.
I did a factory reset and so far so good but I don't have my hopes up. The battery life has recently become quite horrendous. Today I woke up with 100% and by the afternoon it was at 1%. The best part is that I only used it a couple of times in that whole span. This is the worst battery life I've experienced and it was initially nothing like this. So is this a software issue that is causing excessive battery drain and is also causing the device to shut down? Is it a defective battery which is causing the device to be shutdown? I don't know how to distinguish between those 2 short of buying another battery which will be a dumb purchase if the device is actually the problem.

Sounds about right.
I know this is a necro-thread, but I'm actually having the same issue. I had received this phone as an alternate swap from T-Mobile because they didn't have any more MyTouch 4g slides in stock for my warranty replacement. The day I got it, it said there was a system update that needed to be run, so I did it. Starting the next day and continuing until five minutes ago, I have to pull the battery out of my phone and restart it almost every single time I want to use it. This happens on and off the charger, as well as with and without an SD card. I'm a bit at the end of my rope, and I've seen sporadic posts about this "sleep of death" issue all over the place, but without much in the way of a solution. Did getting a replacement phone solve the issue, or did you just wind up swapping it out for a different model all together?

having same issue
my LG L9 p769 is having similar issues, it will just randomly turn off and start power cycling itself, I notice when it starts vibrating during the startup process at regular intervals. you're saying that updating the software would help it stop doing this?

Hello erveryone,
I have the same problem. I have android 4.4.2 . Did somebody solve this problem?

[SOLVED] HOX+ tragic death?

Hey guys, I have a really big problem here and I thought some of you might know what I could do. Search didn't find me anything.
So here's the situation: I've been running a rooted HOX+ for approx. 5 months now, mostly AOKP (shoutout to maxwen awesome ROM).
About a week ago, I installed ViperX+ and the EliteKernel OXP. Running fine, up to saturday evening. I was running low on battery, plugged the phone in last second. However, it shut down immediately afterwards (downanimation was shown though, so it didn't crash). Now it won't charge at all. The LED isn't even blinking :crying:
I tried plugging it in to various power supplies, also it can't be the cable (tried switchin' those too and it works on other phones). Plugging into PC doesn't work either.
I have no idea what to do or where this came from. I really hope somebody has an idea what this could be and how to solve it since i really don't want to lose my data and send it back to fix it (would that even be covered by warranty )
Appreciate your help and also, if this isn't in the right forum here, sorry mods and please move
EDIT: Mods please close

Try to just let it plugged in for a couple of hours and then keep pressing the power button for 20-30sec and it should boot up again..
Hope that ends up working for you!

I dont think this will help you, but you could open up the device and then disconnect the battery. It is a 1s lipo, so you can charge it with a lipo charger that supports 1s lipos (maybe at your local hobby store) Then you solder it together again and you would be able to flash another Rom and Kernel. I know that this is Risky, but i think that this case is not covered by your guarantee.

Send it back for warranty. HTC wont even know you rooted it and chances are if they do, they wont even care they will just replace it. Thats what happend with my HTC One S
Ok guys, sorry for the fuss.
IT WAS THE MICRO-USB PORT! :banghead:
I stabbed around a bit and cleaned it. BAM! It works. Yaay!
