Is there any way to keep the "USB connected" screen from popping up whenever I plug my player into a computer?
the usb port on my player has gotten a bit lose over the years and now connectors wobble a bit so unless I hold it in one position (or put a shim under it) it tends to flip between fully-connected (usb connection detected by phone) and merely plugged in (may be charging, but the data connection isn't detected by the computer or phone)
I had this problem the other day and what I discovered is that it was the connector on the cord and not on the device. I gently squeezed the connector on the cord with a pair of pliers and it was good as new!

So i sitting at my desk wish my Vibrant plugged into a wall charger on my lap, forgetting about the phone being on my lap i turn and the phone fall off onto carpet (1 and a half foot drop). Now when i try to use the charger (it is a blackberry one) It is a slightly looser fit and it says USB debugging enabled. I tried it on another Micro USB charger and it fits perfectly but it also says that it is in USB debugging mode. My phone was about 99% charged if that means anything. Is my Micro USB messed up? Please help!
mine did that once or twice on regular charger, maybe just a bug? idk about yours though...
there's probably nothing wrong with your phone
It's probably in the settings.
Settings / applications / development and you'll find the USB debugging box checked.
reboot and see if the problem persists.
Right, got a bit of a funny one here;
My girlfriend has 'adopted' my Atrix now I've moved on to the One X, but recently it's developed a rather frustrating issue in that the USB port appears to be broken. For charging, and data, even in recovery. I took it to bits to make sure there wasn't anything shorting out or dry solder joints (not that you can actually tell with the way the Atrixs Micro-USB port is designed) and it seems fine - in fact, I checked for continuity from the end of a USB cable connected to it to the pins at the back of the connector (I could reach) and all seemed okay so it's not the actual pins in the port either.
The phone always powers on when off when a USB cable is connected, but I assumed it might still be able to do this so long as +5v and GND were still connected (but then it should charge even if data doesn't work)
I'd probably never have gone to the effort of taking it apart if I'd realised that if I dump it in RSD or Fastboot mode it shows up on the computer fine.
What could be causing this? It really doesn't make any sense at all to me.
Edit: And of course, it's now sat, charging without using an external battery charger fine for the first time in days. I can't get it to do it at all now. Damn thing!
I have this exact same problem, when turned off, my phone recognizes the usb cable and starts up like normal, but when on, if I want it to connect to an ac port or computer, I have to wiggle and shake the usb connection until it charges and it can take anywhere from 20 seconds to 20 minutes. I swear I was about to throw my phone at a wall
Hi!
So basically I can charge the tablet with no issue but when I connect it to my pc (or the one at work) it suddenly is no longer being detected (no USB plug in sound).
At home I was able to make it work but it would seem that moving the cable a bit will make it go off so somehow the cable must be bad I think even though physically outside it looks great.
Could that be it?

its very plausible that you could have a bad usb wire. if you wiggle it and get a connection very likely turns to 100% sure. There are different wires for charging and data within the cable. no connection when you plug it via dock either? (just want to rule out on board connector)
I will have to test on the dock but when it connected yesterday, I tried moving the plug around the table area to see if it was there and it never disconnected yet moving from the USB side connected to the PC made it disconnect so it makes it sound like a bad cable for sure...and hopefully
I have a problem with my LeMax 2. I was using google camera for some picture taking, and all of a sudden phone shuts down. I connected it to the charger, thinking that the battery is dead, but all I can see is backlight, without anything on the screen.
then I connected it to a computer, and there was a popup that said: "the last device you connected to this computer malfunctioned". it seems that USB cable is burnt out. I changed the USB cable, but the same error occurs.
The strange part is that i get notifications, I can locate the phone via Find my device, but i can't see anything on the screen, only i can see a backlight. PC does not recognize it, i tried Linux, win10, win7, USB OTG. i ordered a new Dock Connector Charging Port Flex Cable https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Original-New-Dock-Connector-Charging-Port-Flex-Cable-For-Letv-leEco-Le-Max2-Max-2-X820/32828762033.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.116b4c4ds9GGuN, and changed it, but the problem persists.
i can only see backlight, the phone can be located, the notifications can be heard, but USB is only good for charging, even after replacing it.
Does anybody have some idea how to revive it?
Heyyo, hmm does tapping the power button allow the backlight to at least work? Please rest that in a dark room to see if you can notice the backlight.
If not? It could be a hardware issue... You could try heating the device with a heat gun and then using a suction cup or screen seperation tool and then check the connection of the screen to the device and ensure it is properly connected.
There could be other recommendations if someone else also has an idea
Yes, the backlight works. I opened phone, changed USB port and checked the screen connection. Firstly I thought that USB is fried due to some weird power surge when connecting the charger, but after changing the USB, it is the same.
The next thing that came to my mind is that USB connection on motherboard is fried. As I said, the phone charges up, but when connected to pc, it shows that device has malfunctioned. The screen has backlight, as far I can say it registers a touch, device finder can locate it, sound works...

Hi, is there any way to diagnose and fix USB connector problem?
It stops recognizing external connected devises and when charging you need to find a certain position of the charging cable connector to start charging.
Not a cable or charger issue, also cleaned it up with air and using youtube recommendations for cleaning USB type C.
Sometimes the dust are gathering in the connector. The compressed air could be not enough. Try to use not iron needle if you see something inside.
