[Q]Long Press/2 Quick-Press Home behavior - Responsible file? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all...
So, with latest 6.1.B.1.96 update for Sony Xperia S, the home button behavior has changed...
Previously, to go to home, you just had to press once, and to open Recent Apps list, long press home button. Now, though, it has changed to:
Single Press: Home
Long Press: Google Now
Douple Press: Recent Apps
I've been looking forward onto how to trade the Long press and douple press behaviors (Long Press: Recent Apps, and Douple Press: Google Now), but I have no idea how. I know it is coded in some file (obviously), but I have no idea where.
So, my question is: Which file, and where is generally responsible for button behavior?
I think I can progress further without any more help, but if I can't, I will ask again here...
Thanks everyone for help

[Suggestion] Multitasking Button remap (HOX & GS3)

I havent really seen anyone do or suggest this, but for those making roms for the HTC One series, could you re-re-map the hardware buttons so that the recent apps button pulls up the recent apps (normal ics behavior), and then a long press on the recent apps button maps to the menu button?
My reasoning, is eventually, the "menu" button is something that will get obsoleted, so mapping it as a secondary action (i.e. long press) is a better approach than the current mapping on some of the Roms out there (like cm9). Personally, I'm not a fan of long-presses, so I prefer it for functions I hardly use (like menu).
As for the Gs3, I recommend mapping the 'menu' button to the 'recent apps', and a long press to the menu function (instead of long pressing the home button for recent apps). Again, my reasoning is, when the menu button, eventually gets obsoleted, it becomes pointless having the physical menu button do nothing.
Anyway, just my 2 cents...
Bump.
What I know is that single click functionality of any button can be changed by editing system/usr/keylayout/something_keypad.kl
But long press is not related to button remapping... So it needs to be changed from somewhere else and about that I have no idea..

[Q] Remap/change hardware button functionality?

Hi, I found some old threads about changing keylayout and stuff, but nothing recent (you know: since JB) and I just got the phone yesterday.
Right now, the phone does this:
Menu button press: menu
Menu button hold: Google Now (search)
Home button press: Home
Home button double-press: SVoice
Home button hold: Recent Apps
Back button press: Back
And I would like it to do this:
Menu button press: Recent Apps
Menu button hold: menu
Home button press: Home
Home button double-press: nothing
Home button hold: Google Now (search)
Back button press: Back
I'm kinda surprised that I can't find an app for this, as it really just seems like I'd be changing a little bit of text inside some config/layout files.
FWIW, I'm running completely stock but I rooted it yesterday. No ROM has been flashed, and I would love to keep it that way. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Biggidy biggidy bump
My thread got pushed off the front page faster than I could find Google Now on my new phone.

Thanx - nice find!
It still doesn't accomplish what I want, though... And I am a HUGE proponent of keeping things simple. My least favorite thing about Windows 8? All those muthereffin gestures that you need to memorize. It's not simple, and you have to completely relearn how to use an OS that you've been using for ages.

A little problem with Long-press action on nav-bar

I'm currently on a D851 G3 stock rooted MM, I've enabled long-press action on nav-bar however, after I press and hold the home button to turn off the screen then unlocking the screen, open an app and press home button to back to homescreen (here is the problem), it won't, you need to press once again to make it happen I mean I have to press twice to make it back to home, the problem just occurs once right after unlocking my phone. Btw, there is no problem at all after I turn off Long-press action so I assumes there is a minor bug with this greenify function on my phone. Just a small issue but I hope someone can help me with it. Tks guys for reading

task button long press

Hi community, i'm looking a way to activate the long press functionality using the task button (the one next to home that is not back button). I just update my phone Xiaomi to android 8.1, i use a few aplications (critical for me) that require a long press on that button, i imagine that is some config missing on build.prop
