HI,
this is not a software problem...you have problem with sim reader..I bought mine 920 from ebay with bended / broken pins of sim reader. I replace (solder) them with ones from old broken phone, but I still got the same error from time to time, so yesterday I order a new flex cabel with SIM reader, so I can replace it and stop this annoying error.

ys pls anyone
3125 unlocking help.
Hi, I tried to sim-unlock a locked 3125 with this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=2459703 , after that the phone gave me a ''fatal error" "data crashes" message, I had a backup of the supercid file of the phone (file made with the spv-developers supercid tool), I flashed the file back and now I don't have the "fatal Error" message, and the phone accepts other sim cards different from the cingular sim, but the phone has no signal at all, all the other stuff works fine, I appreciate any advice anybody could give me to restore the signal (service) back to the phone, or that means the phone is still locked?.
Thank you

no signal
try to flash just the radio and see if that helps.
How to??
Thanks for your reply, I don't know how to flash the radio only, would love to give it a try though, besides I am willing to provide this phone and also donate to anyone who thinks it's able to create an unlock tool for these phones.
Thank you

Sim unlock? is it still necessary?
How about using one of the new sim-card chips which you place under the sim card (you might have to cut off a small piece of the sim card plastic) and it supposedly eliminates the need for an unlock? The phones (so I have heard) word as if they were unlocked with all cards.
The chips are called x-sim or something.
If you know if it works - give some feedback
Do you have other link?
lewnetoons, thanks a lot for the link, are you able to upload the file to a different service, I don't want to install third party stuff from zango on my PC, is it safe?.

X - sim
I think the universal or tornado sim will work, however I have not used them, I'll give them a try and let you know.
X-sim, xsim turbo sim
I tested the x-sim card and it works.
Right now I have a Nokia e51 because my Startrek died on me (power connector just fell out... can you believe it!?)
I can see no reason why the CHEAP x-sim (bought my for 9 Euros with postage) should not work on other phones.
I simply cut away a piece of the card (so that the small chip on the xsim can sit there tightly - so not too big a piece) and inserted it carefully - simply no simlock, none at all, with any card I tried.
It works on 3g sim cards as well.
@dakiro
where did you buy this x sim for only 9,= euros with postage? i can't find it that cheap anywhere.
tx in advance for reply!

lol, yes
same thing happened to me
For a 3125, call ATT, give the IMEI and they will give you the unlock code in about 5 minutes, no charge, no questions. They asked if I was an ATT customer, I said no and they still gave it to me.

Just got myself a brand new Cingular 3125 off ebay. Called AT&T to ask for an unlock code, but they told me that that serial and IMEI number is not listed in their database...and I should contact the manufacturer. Did it fall of the truck before it reached AT&T???
Anyhow I have mailed HTC for an unlock code 4 days ago and still no reply

Help! Broke the SIM connector on my Lumia 920

I am so ****ed right now...
My SIM card got jammed and I pulled it out and broke one of the three golden sim connectors and now it won't read any SIM cards!
What really annoys me is that it isn't like I had an alternative. I couldn't take it to a Nokia store and get a genius to sort me out as they don't exist.
Now I have to call up Nokia and get it fixed. God knows how much they will charge. It isn't a big thing to fix but it is new.
If anyone has any tips or advice I would welcome it? How much will it cost me to get this fixed? I read that the whole board would need to be replaced which is very expensive?

Last year I had a problem with my focus and I went to an ATT service center(I don't know the proper name) and got an instant replacement. I believe these places are not widespread; you'd have to look it up. Hopefully whoever looks at it will see that it was stuck. If you forced it out, that could be a problem. First talk to the place where you bought the phone. Reattaching a connector doesn't sound like an extreme problem.
Hi, I've got this same problem and they have asked me the price of a new one as they say they have to change all the circuits. Have you find a way to fix it already?
any hints on this matter?
Cheers!
Roberto.
Damn, I had this happen yesterday, After I had successfully flashed UK firmware from Polish and got the black update, Booked it in for collection and repair, Stupid nano to micro sim adapter was to blame as it got jammed in sim tray, I guess I will be charged for repair centre to fix?
I think something like this happened as well.
I think the person who had this phone inserted the sim wrong
then that might of broke or bent one the pins
I'l looking and can only see two of the three clearly.
So will take it to get checked out. Hopefully can be fixed quite easily.

[Q] Bricked?

Greetings
Long time follower here.
I think my lumia 920 is bricked, while i was flashing this version of firmware RM821_059R1W5_1232.2110.1244.3011, suddenly it stopped with a failed error, without any error number or description.
Now i can't turn on my lumia anymore, also it doesn't get noticed by the computer as a hardware, and also doesn't respond to volume down + power.
is there anyway to fix it?
Thx alot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032888 Mine wouldn't boot after a hard reset. I think this may be your only hope to fix on your own. Nokia Care suite and the refurb option.
IM
is there anyway to know the IM number of the phone without having the box? it's not on the body of the phone, and the phone doesn't start up.
I argued that with Nokia, beacuase they swore up in down it was on the SIM tray... seems stupid to put it there, what if for some reason you lose it? Whomever you were using it on should have it. In fact, I think when I log into AT&T I believe it is there.
have the same issue right now. I'm thinking about sending it in

it's behind the metal frame of SIM holder (not the plastic where you put SIM card) so it's hard to lose it..if you lose the metal frame with label, your sim card even with SIM holder will be loose.
Also if you know your provided (Network carrier) and based on color - you can get your product code from below link:

I have the same problem with my Lumia 920 - RM 821.
Already tried all the tools of Nokia, but without results, no vibrate and no image.
My Lumia has stopped completely and I can not fix it.

[Q] What is SIM IC? And where is it located in the device?

So there is something wrong with the SIM tray in my i9300 S3. The mechanism which holds the SIM card in place seems to have gone wrong. The SIM card doesn't stay in place when I push it in.
I know that the SIM tray is a part that is easy to replace. But since my phone is still under warranty, I took it back to the shop I bought it from. Now they've got back to me saying the SIM IC has been damaged as well and needs replacing. And that this repair is chargeable.
According to them "The sim IC is that which allows the sim card to detect a mobile network". I told them I've never had a problem with mobile reception on my phone. But they're saying that the damaged SIM IC may cause problems in future even though there is no problem now.
So my question is
What is SIM IC and where exactly is it located in the phone?
If the SIM IC gets damaged in future, would it be easy to replace like the SIM tray?
Is there any truth to what they're telling me or is it possible that they're trying to make some extra cash off me?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Damage by the user is not covered under warranty .

So SIM IC is a chip deep inside the phone. How is it user damage when I've never opened up the phone? Sounds like a manufacturing defect to me

Never mind I opened the lumina 920 and discovered 4 of the sim card contact pins had broken in half.
I fixed it by bending the broken contact pins up to contact the sim card.
Bam idiot though they were getting over on me by selling me a broke phone..
feeling mighty full of myself right now.
