Yeah, we know. Lloir's rather vague response is because in the Original Android Development forum section you'll find a couple of threads about the very same thing you're looking for. To give you the short version, Lloir himself along with a handful of other developers have been working hard on developing an AOSP-based ROM for the AT&T version of the HOX+ for quite a while now, but it's still a work in progress not suitable as a daily driver. The reason that particular project has taken so long is because of a few key differences between the AT&T version and the international version that have proven to be real pains in the ass. Try combing through the forum more thoroughly in the future.

For now, the only feasible options are Sense-based ROMs. I recommend Elegancia. AOSP-based ROMs are just not an option at the moment.

Hi guys.
I am doing a little research for my company and I am trying to figure out what are the most popular Android ROMs out there at the moment.
I think the most known and wide spread ROM currently is the CyanogenMod with all it's versions for different handsets. I read that it's user base at the moment is nearing 1M users. There's also the MIUI ROM that was recently picked up by Meizu for commercial release, I don't know their numbers exactly but I guess as Meizu is wildly popular in China the user base should be well over 1 Millions at the moment.
But who's next after those two? Anybody has any idea?
Thanks in advance, Pavel!
I'd prefer cyanogen kang... custom made cyanogen is better than the stock cyanogen.

I think MIUI and CyanogenMod are by far the most popular and (or maybe because) they are available for a lot of phones, however, for specific phones there's other roms that are pretty popular. Look around in the forums dedicated to your phone and you'll find out

Thanks for the advice, it's not really for my phone, personally I've been running CM on various phones, I do a little research for my company.
is anyone working on this
There is an miui developer from the galaxy s2 who has made a ROM for the S3(its in the development section) that isn't MIUI but i believe in the comments section for his ROM he has said he might start working on it soon.

I asked the same thing over at miui.us... Somebody said they will begin when a good AOSP ROM comes out.

Why would they wait for a good aosp... since even in the s2 where aosp and aosp rooms are so good they did base their releases on the samy base... I don't really think aosp is the bottleneck for miui on S3...
MIUI
Guys I asked one of the guys from MIUI both from their original website and Facebook they said It would a while guessing a few moths.
I was also wondering this, hope it doesnt take too long for it come out.
Hey guys, I assume that now that this device is out, we should be able to get a great aosp build going on our phones since they are so much alike, what do you think?

I'm sure having an official (and very similar) AOSP branch to work off of will help the developers.
CM 10.1 is pretty solid but I hope this will help weed out the rest of the bugs.

Hello.
1. Are there some devs here that that already have JB roms like 4.1.2 and 4.2.2 and are now working on building a 4.3.0 rom?
I do know that CM 10.2 it out in early stage.
Don´t know if dews want to keep unreleased work a secret, but it would be nice to know if some recognized devs are at least planning on a rom based on 4.3.0 for our SGS2
2. What advantages and features/new things can we expect with 4.3.0?
Thanks for answers

features such as restricted user profiles (only on tablets), Bluetooth Low Energy profile, virtual surround sound, autocomplete for dialpad, improved keyboard, OpenGL ES 3.0 support and a handful of other things

Think about it this way...You're a developer; the SGS2 was released >2 yrs ago & has been superceded twice (and will likely be superceded again within 12 mths), why would you bother putting yourself through the kind of grief you go through (as a result of Samsung's stupidity with sources) everytime a new Android version is released yet again for a phone 3x superceded ?
Answer - very few devs would bother. If I were one, I would have moved on from the SGS2 12 mths ago.

Why close it? At least give me a reason thank you.
@MistahBungle
I get your point.
But the other roms live on. It´s still has a large amount of users in the world.
Why not do it just for fun? That it can be done? The dev still use a SGS2?
I can think of many reasons to do a rom based on 4.3.0.
Custom 4.3 ? Yes there's a few sorting this as we speak. Some are in testing now. Read threads mate.

Sweet. Will do.
Anny thread you can recommend?
I was hoping some devs would read this thread and say something about what they are doing.

Sure, if you want to try compiling it yourself. There are excellent instructions in the developers forums at the top of the main forum. No one here is currently working on a PA ROM.
If you'd like to try out a ROM that includes the main features of PA as well as the best of Evervolv, CyanogenMod, and AOKP try @josegalre PACman ROM, but it is currently at JellyBean-4.3 or if you really want to try KK either @sportsstar89 CyanogenMod-11 or @jeepers007 Evervolv ROMs, but they are still buggy (as are most KK ROMs for legacy devices like ours at this time) and in more of a beta state then ready for daily driver use.

Pac rom 4.3.1 is the most stable 4.3 rom so far. Silent camera hq on google play is a good alternative one.

Thanks. The only way we can keep our devices up to date, since we've been abandoned by HTC, is to stay active here and to support the Devs who're working so hard keeping the Amaze alive.

your right.htc completely abandoned our device and to top it all ours is not the easiest device to compile roms for.s3 mini and slightly newer devices have 4.4 kk roms like pacman fully functioning without any bug and we should all do our part and help our devs who are doing a great work
