I have since a long time ago installed CM 6.0.1 with Froyo 2.2.1 on my Viewsonic G Tablet. It seems that I am stuck on the same version of Market that I have had since this installation late 2010. Is it possible to update to the latest version of Market given the above version of CM? I have at least one application, Pleco, that does not allow me to download in-app purchased content to the tablet although I have no problem downloading same to my Google Nexus phone running Android 4.3.
Market is version 1.82, Google Services Framework was recently updated to 2.2.1 but I also have Google Play Services which is at version 3.2.25. Is it possible for me to get the latest version of Market, or Google Play, as it is now called, or am I forever stuck on version 1.82?

Update your firmware to EU 512-4 2100 with working sensors.
Download the Play Store apk from Android Police and install

I received this phone and it was preloaded with google play - BUT the seller didn't update the phone to the latest version and when I updated it, google play stopped working.
Is it worth it downloading the update if I think everything's working fine right now? Should I wait to upgrade it?
Or will the update not show up if I don't download the latest version?

You are better to update os because there are battery and stability improvments, each time you can install gapps, it is not a problem.
Google Play Not Exist , Needs to Fix it or Another Version (Nougat Support) to Install And how to Install it by steps
update to b013 then OTA updates will follow. grab the play store, Google play services and framework from apk mirror
If you want to unlock the bootloader then do that at B13 MM... If you go to nougat you can't and will need to regress back to MM...
