DC-HSPA+ on Verizon I545? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

One of the GSM carriers here in my country has a DC-HSPA+ 42.2Mb network in Santo Domingo and other important cities, but I went to Santo domingo were they are supposed to have this network, but my cellphone never get connected to DC-HSPA+.
So, does the Verizon galaxy S4 has DC-HSPA+ indeed?
Or
Can the carrier block some device to connect to that network or can the carrier only allow devices with their firmware to connect to that network?

Verizon versions of the galaxy s4 have different radios inside and cannot recieve HSPA+, they use LTE and cdma.

You are completely wrong. Verizon galaxy S4 is GSM/LTE/CDMA.
I am currently using it on GSM.

Again you are wrong. Verizon galaxy S4 SCH-I545 works on GSM too.
As you can see in the attached image. There is H+. HSPA is for GSM only. You can also see the "Network Signal Info" widget it is connected to Claro H+ 21.6Mb.

A. There is a difference between having gsm and having all the bands for it. The Verizon s4 has gsm so that when you travel abroad you can still use it. This it's not meant to operate on higher tech gsm just regular hpda and gsm voice.
B. Why would you buy the s4 for a United states carrier if you don't plan on using it in the United states
C. If you are just going to tell anyone that is trying to help you wrong you aren't going to get anyone to help you

A-according to specs over the internet and a Samsumg costumer support agent it supports DC-HSPA+
B-because since this model support GSM, you can use it on any GSM carrier around the world. And it could be a gift from a relative or a friend.
C-sorry but he keeps saying this model doesn't support GSM, so since I know it does support GSM, I have to tell him, he was wrong. I was not telling him in a bad way, just clarifying.
What about if someone is telling you that something works THIS way, but you know that "something" work THAT way... wouldn't you tell him he is wrong?

If its for the GSM, I was just clarifying.
The other points, well, Maybe he is right. And this phone has no DC-HSPA+ support. So since internet and samsung stated that this model have DC-HSPA+ I thought it could be something related to the carrier.

Yes the Verizon phones after Note 2 all are factory unlocked which means you can go to verizon and use it on att.. which makes no sence but if you leave VZW for AT&T or T-Mobile you are all good.
So yes Verizon phones are also GSM.

Everyone should calm down. As evident with most forum threads from people who are not researching beforehand, people are not getting answers from Google. Is it because they want a person to communicate and verify answers they researched? Likely not. Is it because people are inherently lazy? Probably. Is it because a lot of people don't know how to specify search criteria and often give up if they do not find results on the first page of Google? More than likely.
Anyways, while informative somewhat, I think this thread should be locked so no more harsh attitudes can be thrown about. Just my two cents.

GT-i9300 has 4G?

This screenshots were sent from a friend that says that his cellphone is receiving 4G, however i also have the same GT-i9300 factory unlocked, but bought from the US. His S3 is bought from Orange Dominicana Carrier. We both are in the same network. But i only receive H+, while he receives 4G. Does this mean that there are GT-i9300 with LTE? Or mine is not configured properly?
IMPOSSIBRU!!!!
On a serious note, I was sent a text from T-Mobile uk saying that later this year I would be able to get 4G
Here's hoping
Regards
Jack
Edit: unfortunately after having restored a nandroid backup, I have lost the text, doesn't seem like i have a great deal of credibility now oh well
Yes or No then?
Yes or No then? because as u can see in the pictures, it appears he has 4G. And im pretty sure he has the GT-i9300.
The gt-i9300 only has hspa+, it may say 4g but it's hspa+.
The LTE version is the i9305 and isn't out yet.

Probably not, different frequencies for LTE, otherwise Sammy would just use the US version in European LTE markets.
Goes to show that the quad exynos is their preferred platform.

Will the HTC Droid DNA work in UK

Hi,
A quick question, would the HTC Droid DNA work on a GSM signal network such as O2 - UK? I just want to know if I would be able to send/recieve texts and calls. Also what internet speed would I get? would I get 2G/3G/HSPDA or none?
I have searched around and many sources say stuff about using it on ATT GSM network and when I live chatted with Verizon they said specifically CDMA network only.
Thank you
Taylor_Swift
Whoever you talked to is wrong about it being cdma only. It's a global phone, and as such has gsm bands and is SIM unlocked.
What bands does o2 use, that determine what data works.

Take in account you talked about GSM bands so phone at least is going to work 2G. What about O2 UMTS band? This will determine whether or not your phone gonna work 3G.

Hey guys...
So, the Verizon S4 is the model named SCH-I545 and it comes with a sim slot, right? Besides, it comes Internationally Unlocked, so it can be used on GSM networks around the world, correct?
Just one more question, does it work on the 850MHz Band for 3G?
I'm thinking on buying one also! Thanks!
I brought the vzw s4 back to india.. but its not working with either vodafone or airtel GSM.
After rooting and installing apn manager and titanium pro I was able to get the data working but that too only 3g.
But the voice n sms is still not working.
I too am lookiblng for a solution but didnt find any, inspite of this being a world phone.

Same issue in India
I am having the same issue. The phone picks up only data signal and not voice or SMS. I have a Note2 purchased from Verizon and it works perfect. I have rooted and was able to install an I9505 ROM Wamma Lite. It picked up the gsm signal for a moment and same issue occured. Can aI9505 modem be iinstalled using Odin which will make the gsm modem primary and CDMA secondary and allow gsm use for voice and SMS. Please help.

Yes, it will work on 850
Straight from Sammy.
"Frequencies and Data Type:
LTE: Bands 4/13
CDMA 1x/EVDO Rev.A: 800/1900MHz
HSPA+/UMTS: 850/900/1900/2100MHz
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz"
I am using my i545 in both CDMA and GSM networks. Didn't try HDSPA, but EVDO Rev.A and even Rev.B, and GSM with EDGE - working properly without problems. Switching between networks - is in the Settings. My phone is connected to two different operators at the same time - to CDMA and GSM.

Why do people get this phone to use abroad?

I don't get it, I keep setting people asking questions in here about international use when they obviously got it with no intention of ever using it on Verizon, what makes this phone so great that foreigners and even people on other us carriers get it instead of the s4 that's meant for them?

Because they are crazy, cause we are locked down tighter then a baby pig sucking tit in the mourning b4 eating slop in a farm ..... Lucky I have mdk Im pretty pleased with this phone , but if I was them I would maybe buy the phone from a carrier with not such a locked down bootloader
hyperdrive powered s4
probably because verizon has one of the biggest customer base and best service whitch means more phones to be able to buy used on ebay and what not that is just what i think...and i think verizon enabled international on the note 2 and now s4 not sure about the n3 but not sure if other carriers have that option or if it is a gsm cdma difference.. or what or international carriers can only use vzw baseband

Verizon comes unlocked default and uses a cdma network + sim card
Which means it can be used on other cdma carriers around the world+gsm carriers
No other variants of gs4 can do this

ATT LTE?

I have recently had this phone come into my possession, and had put in my ATT Sim to see if it would work. After switching to global mode and adding an APN, it connected. The only thing is it refuses to connect to LTE. Is it possible to run ATT LTE on the Verizon version? It runs the MK2 software.

If you're in an area where AT&T is pushing out AWS band 4, you'll get LTE. That's because the band is compatible with the AWS bands that VZ uses. If not, you'll get HSPA+ (or worse).
