You can go for either one of them...i use cwm but its personal choice..now how yo flash cwm on your phone..just search the forum with your phone name..every detail is out here..you just have to search.after flashing cwm just take a backup of your current rom to be safe in case something goes wrong and flash a new one.search for custom roms for your phone in the forum. The procedure for flashing it will be written there only.

Ok sir ill go with twrp.. Pls answer my questions above one by one if its ok.. What should i do right after rooting? What should i back-up? How to back-up? If installed another rom, can i still access my apps? Will the apps remain on progress? or it will be back to start again (as if newly installed). Thanks a lot!

After install the recovery, make a full backup (the recovery have that option, but I dunno where is it in TWRP).
If you're going to install a ROM, surely you'll need to make a factory reset (another recovery option), so all your apps will be lost, however, you can make a backup of your apps (and/or its data) using some app like Titanium Backup, and restore the backup after install the ROM.

hm.. thanks for all the replies.. how partitioning? when should i do it? ive read some posts about partitioning so i think its important, is it or is it not? thank you i really appreciate every reply.

It depends of your phone and your usage habits. If your phone have few space to install apps, or you will install many apps then maybe you will need more space, this is the purpose of partitioning.
How to do it... well, you need to make the partition in your SD (you can do it from the recovery, or from your PC using any partitioning utility) and then, to use the partition, you'll need to install an app like Link2SD (you can install the scripts used by Link2SD if you prefer, but for the newbies is recommended use an app instead).

I've just started to play with custom roms 2 days ago and nothing went badly wrong just yet With some precautions (the backups) and attention to the instructions you will do just fine Make sure you get the correct roms for your phone, because my first attempt to flash a rom was from a different phone model Nothing wrong happened, just an error message, but its a good example that you should play attention to the names and versions of the files!
good luck

Well, just follow the exact instructions the developers give when you flash something And always make a Nandroid back up first.
Furthermore: check for which phone models the roms etc. are (I9100 or anything else you have), to avoid flashing something bad.
If you're afraid for the eMMC brickbug: read the threads that are made for it for info about that.
Sent from the Matrix
The emmc brick bug only happens on stock kernel when wipe data is selected just flash any other kernel before doing anything else and then your safe. Don't flash a ROM for any other phone including the i9100G double check before flash the file name is usually .............i9100
Honestly ? Don't flash anything in the first place. Leave your phone stock & enjoy using it.
If the thought of breaking it frightens you, leave it alone.
Nandriod backup can't save you from hard brick. RTFM (or thread) is the only safe path if you can't stop the hacking itch, and don't be a hero to be the first one to try something new like leaked ROM. Good luck.

Well, then use the other advices that are given to you
But there's always a risk, so in fact it's a matter of minimizing them. If you want be totally risk free, then you indeed have to leave it stock.

I have rooted my phone with fake recovery, i want to install a speedmod kernel. I have stock recovery. Is it needed to install manually cwm first?? @Hardcore is writing that cwm is included, but im not sure that its written into this kernel or i need to download the cwm too, but where? There is no link in the topic So all i need to flash the kernel through the stock recovery and i'll got cwm and speedmod and done or download cwm from somewhere first and flash kernel through the cwm?
Here is the topic:

[Q] Phone Bricked? Please help...!

Hello guys,
I've installed "NoFrills" CPU Control on my LG E720 on 3/4/13, and it worked quite well on that day.
But when I tried to turn on the phone on 4/4 , it just stuck in the "android icon screen" ( it must be boot-looping  )
What's happening? Can I slove the problem without losing all the user data ?
Thanks for your help!
(*I've moved the app to SD by using "Droidsail Super App2SD")
( sorry for my bad English )

If you hadnt backed up before. then my answer will be No. And depending on your device if the device has a dedicated Forum on XDA you will get more help there in terms of flashing Stock roms as All Manufacturers have different methods to do so. if there isnt i am sorry to tell you should go to service centre.

[Q] Bricked S2? Saving data [SOLVED]!

Hi.
I have been looking through the forum, and can't seem to find a proper solution for my problem.
My sisters boyfriend owns a SGS2 i9100, and as far as I can tell, it's bricked. When turned on, the SGS2 logo shows, and then just goes black. Waited 10mins, nothing. He says he did't do anything, all he did was changing the battery, he bought the extended one.
Now the problem is - he really needs to get the data off the phone! He has some work-related stuff on it (notes, pictures, etc...) he needs asap...
I can get into recovery and download mode, I already installed CWM (GT-I9100_JB_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.2.9.tar) but I fear I flashed the wrong one, because he told me AFTER flashing, that his SG2 was running on android 2.4.x...
I tried mounting emmc and internal sdcard, but my PC wont detect it, so I could copy the data off it...
The phone is not rooted and runing on stock ROM.
Any ideas how to get the data out?
tnx for all your help & replys in advance, I hope someone can help, would appreciate it.
Merry christmas to all

If you can root and flash CWM, then you can try entering recovery and making a nandroid backup. Then extract its contents using apps meant for the same.

Hey, good point! I'll try that, thanks!
Will report
If the phone actually is bricked & you don't end up being able to get it working normally, you have no chance of recovering data from it.
@immortalneo
I made a nandroid backup from CWM and saved on PC... I have all the data, tnx!
Next question is - where (in all those "data" and "system" files), can I find his notes, that were saved in the stock notes app? I'm searching through the files and can't seem to find it
Tnx again man
Flash the same rom that was flashed before the brick.
Then install titanium backup pro and use "extract from nandroid backup" and find the app you want to restore and restore just DATA.Restart the phone and that's it.
I've been doing this for a long time now, restoring sms mesages, notes, game saves....

Then I just imported the missing files from nandroid backup into the new, fresh stock rom (tnx for this one man!) and we're good to go.

Common sense. If you don't have that then no one can help you. When installing any apps, mod, hack, kernels, roms, etc there will be instructions provided and clearly stating the risk of bricking. If you have what it takes to take the risk and know what you are doing, should your device not brick.
But even so, due to whatever reason, say your device bricked. you should have a nandroid backup lying around, and enough knowlege to unbrick your device.
Now, wait for others to post a huge list of tips, It might be long, so have fun reading..
... Just don't try anything which is not meant for your device.
And you know, I have got a softbrick and bootloops so many times.

If you want to go back to stock, just flash the full Rom zip 2.2.0.
If you go the opposite, there is no reason you can't apply the other method to unlock bootloader & then...
But if you don't know what you are doing, don't !
