Isn't the bootloader for newer Galaxy phones from AT&T locked? Unless someone finds an exploit then it's impossible to root. Good luck

The i9205 does not have a locked bootloader, but it does not work on US LTE bands.
Even though I don't get this device till Monday, count me in for 10$ sh*t this thang needs root.
I'll put in $30, plus I will also try to see if I can do anything to get this thing rooted and the bootloader unlocked.

I'm in $20. Ishoulda researched it before I bout it, but I was SURE there was no such thing as a Galaxy without root or that a 6.3in screeened phone with IR would have such low specs... Smh. Please use root.

Because the bootloader issue seems to be the same as the S4, this seemed like a possible solution.

+1 I look like 10 times a day for a update on root(lol).I'm actually going to sell mine and buy the international 19205,at least u can root that phone,but lose lte.Ill decide after the note 3 unveil today.If you want root for the note 3 as well were going to have to by the international version of that as well because at&t going to lock that down as well

Yep, the nexus 4 is back in stock on the play store. I added it to my cart, so hopefully its still there when I get my money in to my account tomorrow. I got $400 for the GNote which is a great deal I think, considering the Nexus 4 is only $350, so including shipping I think I made a $25 profit or something like that.
I really don't like the screen or the design tbh.
I love my samoled I have an s3 and the note now, just got rid of the galaxy nexus for the s3

I'm waiting for a S4 root too. Since most people did not pay the extra $14.99 for overnight like we did, everyone else will get the S4 Wednesday or Thursday. That means developers can't develop Root methods till Friday at the earliest (took 1-2 days for HTC One on Sprint to have root after release day).
@djrbliss stated on Twiiter that he successfully booted a custom recovery and to look for a release soon.

That was for his bootloader unlock he made when the att version came out....only root method I have seen from him was the motochopper

Some have reported success on Sprint S4's, though I still advise against using it and waiting for a Sprint specific version.
And seeing that it's supposed to be the same root block used in the newer sprint OTAs..

Verizon allowed most people to get their S4's on Wednesday as a kind gesture. I wanted the phone sooner, so I paid the fee for priority overnight. It was worth it, as I got the phone on Tuesday. I love this phone!

I got it on Tuesday morning too. No overnight or 2 day shipping, just standard.
I guess I'm one of the lucky few. *shrug* not that it matters since there wasn't even root for it yesterday.

any company with half decent security measures wouldnt allow it to be that easy, but then this is samsung and verizon we are talking about, so im actually hopeful for this.

Considering they left SELinux permissive on... I am hoping they screwed up big time and will allow this...
All my Androids have always been rooted soon after getting the phone.
Is the Dev version rooted and bootloader unlocked? Or is it just the bootloader and have to root it yourself?

How exactly? A Note 3 sale is a sale, it's the same device. It costs them pennies practically in extra work. They don't care from that end. It's whatever their contract is with Verizon that matters.

Well i sold mine for less than the dev edition and so samsung made the difference i paid. I know most people sell their retail ones for less than full price. And because i bought two phones so they made two sales, regardless if i sold one, they still got two phone payments.

That makes sense on a personal level, but realistically the number of people doing that is statistically insignificant. I have a hard time believing anyone's 'developer edition' device has sold much more than a rounding error.

Personally, I'm an android guy. But I have to appease the sheep on my family plan.
I just bought 3 Verizon iPhone 5S's at Sam's Club for $127 each plus 9% sales tax.
Immediately after that, went to a Verizon corp store and sold the older (out of contract) iPhone 4S's for $200 through their buyback program.
Even after the $36 activation fee, the $200 buyback pays for the newer iPhone 5S.
Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
When talking with the Sam's Club rep, he said the Galaxy S4 will be selling for $.01 on Black Friday.
I just got my ballistic SG Maxx and I love it. Rather than going on eBay and selling it I figured I'd see if anyone here had use for it. No charge of course if maybe someone could reimburse me for shipping when they receive it. It's in great condition.
EDIT: Please don't say you want it and then just sell it on eBay. I want someone who actually wants one that maybe couldn't afford it to have it.

Thank you! I never knew about XDA until I got my Note 3 and the forums have helped me from day 1 of my purchase. Seeing as how they are expensive cases and I recently started doing well financially (well... better than I was at least haha) I thought I would make someone smile!
