[Q] Convert T-Mobile One to GPE and keep 1700 - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Due to Verizon being a fantastic carrier and locking me out of unlocking my bootloader, I've decided to jump ship and try out T-Mobile. If I convert my phone to a GPE edition, will I be able to continue using the 1700 AWS band? If not, can I flash the radios from the stock ROM to the GPE one?

Regardless of what radio you flash (GSM any of course) you will keep your bands. I'm running a T-Mobile converted to GPE running Sense 4.3 now lol

I know that, but if I flash the GPE RUU, wont that flash the radios from the GPE phone? GPE radios don't support 1700 AWS and that's why I was wondering.

No radio will stay

So if i do full gpe conversion im gonna have AWS band ? Or not
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app

you mean frequency band, if you do that's a hardware part of the phone. but when you flash GE RUU it's gonna install GE radio( as far as I know). I converted mine and I was getting poor to none signal when indoor and all I needed to do is to flash a T-mobile radio.

I just flashed my radio to Tmobile one. Now another question. I can c on my signal bar E 3G H and LTE. No more H+ Like on nexus 4. Is that normal

You get a GPE update it may flash new radio

I'm unlocked for T-Mobile I have some questions with LTE

I traded my Atrix HD plus 50 dollars for this phone..which I think its a sweet deal plus it was unlocked phone so I can use T-Mobile for it. Now I need some help and there is way too much info about this and I don't know where to start Google is my friend, but I came here for shortcuts. I want to root, flash cwm, unlock bootloader and start flashing some rom which I will try to figure out myself. I need help with LTE
I changed my APN to fast.t-mobile.com,but I don't see any LTE signal. All I keep getting is 4G. Not sure if this phone even gets a H+ ( keep in mind i'm still on stock LG) What other settings I need to use to activate my LTE on the APN?
If I'm going to flash a ROM most likely PA or AOKP would this affect anything for carrier? I don't wanna messed up something and relock my phone.

Unfortunately if your not in the area where lte runs on the phones bands your SOL. The optimus G isnt aws so unless your in a big city there may not be any LTE. But 4g on the optimus G counts as HSPA+.

We have LTE in Phoenix AZ we had since it March 26,2013. Before the Optimus G. I was picking up LTE fine with my Motorola Atrix HD also with stock rom. I even flashed it with another rom. Still picking up LTE just fine. Of course I had to change APN to fast.t-mobile.com
Last night I rooted my Optimus G, unlocked bootloader and flash recovery. Wiped factory/reset, Wipe dalvik cache, flashed AOKP Rootbox JB 4.2, flashed Gapps w/ photosphere working, wipe dalvik cache. Success! Rom is great, no issues with it so far except LTE. I even downloaded LTE Settings from the Market no luck. All I get is H+
Do I need to flash a different radio or something? If I do can you or someone direct me to the right radio. Thanks
If I recalled tmobile uses band 4 for data speed. Optimus g does not. So no go I'm sorry. (1,3 and 5?) Does tmobile have actual lte yet? If so maybe modem may not support lte unless someone compiled one that does?

Where have you been? Like I said we have LTE in phoenix from t-mobile. Tmobile is already putting up towers all over the states. I just had LTE last week from my other device.

He's saying the modems that the Optimus G has do not run band 4. Therefore you won't get LTE if that is that band they run.
Sent from my Optimus G using xda premium
So what shoulda do? Convert my device to nexus 4? Or sell this phone and buy a nexus 4?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Edit: Actually you guys are wrong Optimus G does use band 4 according to the specs from AT&T website.

There is a line you can modify in build.prop that should enable the menu settings to change network mode, I can't remember it off the top of my head though. It may help!
Edit: ro.radio.networkmod=enable, it is set to disable by default

Have you actually tested the speed? It may just not be showing the proper icon.
Either way, putting a different rom on it should do nothing to effect your carrier, aside from included APN's.
Im posting to confirm that the at&t version of the optimus G does indeed run on t-mobiles LTE.

I have unlocked AT&T Atrix HD and currently has AESOPIZZA Jellybean 4.1.2 it clearly shows LTE on the screen, but the superior more powerful Optimus G does not.
I'm getting at least 32mbps at speedtest.net for LTE on the other device.

EDIT: I flashed radio .33 from Nexus 4 so far so good. It did not soft bricked my phone. Only bug I encountered was after making a call. The phone call will crash, but its fix permanently once reboot. No confirmed LTE yet because I am outside the area, but once I get closer to Phoenix. I will confirm here. Hopefully this is it.

Try a stock ROM, just for grins. Did you flash the modem by CWM or fastboot?

However I will try flashing the .33 radio on stock rom. Good thing i nandroid back up my stock rom.
I used TWRP to flash
No confirmed LTE. H+ Keeps dropping to 3G every second.

Do you get the refarmed 1900 Mhz 3G/H+ in your area?I believe the HSPA+ in my city is the non refarmed version, therefore Edge is the best I get, even after enabling network settings in build.prop (thanks! @id10terrordfw), and after playing around in the service menu. I can get it to connect to HSPA+ on a competitors' network (local carrier called West Central Wireless), and it shows the 4G icon in the top corner, but their network is either a joke (which I have a feeling is the case), or throttle the heck out of competitors' phones connecting to their network. Either way, I simply suspect that this phone just simply doesn't have the band that T-Mobile needs to get fast HSPA+ (or non-LTE 4G, as I like to call it).
I can go into my local T-Mobile store and run speed tests on their Nexus 4 and GS3 at any time and get around 12Mbps. Their GS3 shows 4G (which I know is not the LTE 4G, and their Nexus 4 shows H+).
I've read from various forums members that flashing the Nexus 4 modem is a no-no, but I don't understand that if this hardware is identical to a Nexus 4, why can't we enable/flash support for the band we need. I haven't been out of town to a market that has true T-Mobile LTE to test it, but @STravers says it works, so I don't see any reason not to believe it.

Flash Att One to TMobile One Completely

Hello all,
I have an att one that I've sim unlocked to use with tmobile. Now I want it to run like a tmobile phone. Would I have to unlock bootloader from HTCdev then flash cwm then flash a rooted stock rom? Now what about flashing a tmobile radio? Can I just flash that on top for it to be better optimized for tmobile frequency? And when should I S-Off through this whole process? Thanks for all the help

Got what? No one has yet gotten the AWS frequencies on their non T-mobile phone. What exactly did you have as results?
The ATT model by default only gets the HSPA 1900 band or LTE on T-Mobile (plus edge, of course). What it is missing is the high speed 4G T-Mobile only AWS band.
EDIT: One does not need to flash TMO to use the phone on 1900 or LTE.

Not currently. As I said, a lot of people are interested and are working on it. But just flashing the radio will not work.

What about the opposite way around? Tmo radio on att? I just wanna be sure my phone is optimized for tmobile signals. I'm already on a refarmed market. Does it even matter?

[Q] Unlocked International Version

I may have the opportunity later this weekend to trade my S4 for the international version of the HTC One. Just a few questions from some experts first. I am in a 4G LTE area and want to make sure the international version has the capabilities of getting that signal. Also, less bloatware I would assume as well? What else is there............Oh! Rooting and Flashing I would assume would be easier on the international version as well? Thanks in advance for any answers.
The international version will not work on lte for Att..it will work on hspa+ even though the hardware is identical many have said the frequencies are probably efused from the factory.. Hence why the international version is not advertised to have the Att lte bands...if u want lte get an unlocked Att or us dev edition version.

I'm not sore how the radio will work but you may be able to change every aspect of the hboot to match an att version and it may work with lte. You can flash different radios with s-off too. But even if you can't get the lte the one kicks the s4s ass hands down. As for flashing, you can unlock the bootloader and s-off pretty easily. It's not like using Odin where you click once and it's done but it's simple if you follow directions.

With s-off you can flash radios and hboots however, if speculation is correct that the radio hardware has been efused at the factory then matter what you flash software side you won't get the necessary frequencies.. Efusing is irreversible.

HTC gpe radio questions

If I buy a HTC one from Google and get the play edition will it work on att network and would I get all the hspa+ and lte on att including their new band 2 and 5 they just realeased ?
Or should I just use HTC one from att
?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium HD app
Yes, it will work on the AT&T network. It'll work just as any AT&T device.
It is my understanding that only stock Sense roms have the new bands disabled (via a build prop line); so that should work as well.
Plus, you can always flash the AT&T radio if you want to compare the two.

Questions on converting the tmobile HTC one to gpe

I have heard and read around the net about if you take a tmobile HTC one and do the whole gpe conversion you would lose aws connectivity.
But no-one has confirmed it. I would like to take my HTC one and convert it to take the 4.4 ruu. But I do not want to lose aws

You will not loose aws.
i have a TMO unit. I have been running the GPE 4.3 fully stock for a while and i get LTE in their 1700/2100 just fine.
My concern was for hspa aws
