Hi guys!
After using Android for some months now, I'm having some questions (that google coudn't answer).
1) How can we copy links in the new YouTube app? I can only share them on Twitter/Facebook/Dropbox/etc...
2) Is an app/tweak available to increace the amounts of steps of the volume bar?
Sometimes it happens that the lowest volume is still kinda loud. So it would be helpfull if I could reduce the volume even more, without muting it.
3) Aren't there any apps that can emulate the control of the Apple earphones control thing? The only button that works is the play/pause button.
The only apps I can find, can only use 1 button (like press the button 5 times to go to the next track). That's kinda unhandy.
Tips/Solutions are appreciated!
Matt

is there a way to use the volume buttons to switch between tracks? like in my old k800 when i longpressed a volume button it played the next or the previous track. it would be nice and it would save battery cos it would not activate the screen all the time
Hey, I was thinking about something likewise. It would be nice that while the phone is closed, a single click on the camera button would start/stop music, a double click on the camera button would go to next track.
Typical issue:
- about to start some app that makes noise (game, paused music player, etc)
- trying to lower volume in advance, by using the volume button: doesn't work, controls the ringer volume instead as the phone is not playing any sound yet
- start app: LOOOOUUUUDDDDDD... until i can lower volume using volume button.
Question: any way to change the behaviour of the volume button so it controls AT ALL TIMES the media volume?
Thanks!
Don't know about any app that would do that, but you can go to sound settings before opening games, media, players, etc. and lowering the media volume before starting those apps.
Stick a finger over the speaker hole until you're able to lower the volume, it effectively mutes it. (except in very, very quiet environments)
Hi, I'm a newbie,
and i feel your problem as well.
Who in the world often change the ringer volume?
Most people will want it either at maximum volume, or minimum volume (off, at silent mode)
Most people (i believe i speak for most people),
would rather have the volume rocker to control the media volume.
Is there a better fix for this? Please help.
covering the volume hole is a nice trick, but its not really an effective solution.
Man who stick hole in finger better sticking finger in settings sounds and adjusting sound levels no ???

I use a "lock the ringer" app for this purpose alone.
If I could reprogram the volume buttons to always only affect the media, I could even get rid of the above app.
Loads of custom ROMs and custom stock ROMs have the option to have the volume expandable so when you tap the rocker the dialer volume appears but then there's a little settings icon at one end and you can tap that and media, notification and alarm volume all appear
hi guys,
i love the samsung galaxy s2 phone, but i have a question.
Whilst using the phone, i end up accidently pressing the volume button and this can sometimes mean i put the "Notification" or "Ringer" volume really down.
I only want to be able to control such options by actually going into the Settings menu, so is there a way to disable this button or somehow change it's functionality?
BUMP!
Surely someone must have the answer?

I guess so nyssa, but many also still have their mobiles, watching this forum and are still replying to many questions on this forum.
Hey there. Have you even tried searching in the market? The very first app for "volume" query can do just that

thanks aj rockwell. That app i believe only helps you adjust settings with volume. I actually want to Remap buttons, so that the volume button cannot adjust sounds other than "IN-CALL volume"
this is so annoying, I was going to open a thread with the some issue. Is any chanse, mod which can switch a default option when we press volume from ringer volume to media volume. many times by incident I turn ringer volume down and I dont hear a ringer.
@ x7 - Halleluyah! At last i find someone who has exactly the issue as myself.
Guys, all i want is some app that can disable the volume button from controlling the MEDIA's/NOTIFICATION's volume. The only way i want to control these is by actually going to SETTINGS>SOUND ...surely there must be an app that can REMAP the Volume key functions?
I agree, why Samsung did this think That you can change volume ringer by pressing a volumes button? This is so silly

the only thing we can do x7 is hope that someone on here will know a fix for this volume issue.
I took a look in android market but I havent found anythink
I checked too, but could not find anything. The only one i have seen whilst searching on google, is Button Remapper. But there is no information to say that this app is safe for the SGS2.
Anyone? Help!
x7nofate mate, pls ignore the replies. I feel like such a twat now . It looks like AJ.Rockwell was right...i never properly tried the recommended app and was too quick to ignore it's features.
Download "Volume Control +" from android market and install it.
Once installed, set the volume for all the media/ring/notifications. Then simply goto the options where it allows you to lock each individual type of tone. So for example if you don't want to decrease your ringtone volume by accident, then select that.
Save your settings and you should have a little lock icon in your status bar.
Now when you put your volume for your ringtone down, it looks like its gone down again, right???? WRONG! Since Volume Control+ has locked it down, VC+ automatically forces it back to the "locked" settings. Genius!
Let me know how you get on mate!
PS: If you need any help or just wanna chat android, then PM me ur email and i'll add you to msn/yahoo/skype or whatever you use.
I installed a "Volume Control +" ages ago and I locked in settings but I can put my volume ringtone down anyway so I thought that it doesn't work but I was wrong. It works, thank you very much
Bump! I searched XDA on Google for this exact thread, my problem too. My question is, with that apps reccommendation (thanks for that), does it still bring up the volume OSD? That's my major annoyance, and something that happens to people whenever I pass my phone over to them.

Hello guys!
I have several things in mind, and a few questions. Hope this is the right place to post.
First of all: why are all the smartphones makers getting rid of physical buttons? I don't see any good thing about those tactile buttons we have on the Galaxy S3 for instance: you press the "back" button by mistake all the time, and you have to turn your screen on to be able to use them.
How do you do when you're doing some sports or just walking down the street and simply press a button in your pocket to skip a track you're listening to?
Secondly: I thought there was a kind of rule about how to use the long press function on volume buttons. In my mind, it's clear that a long press on Volume Up will skip to the next track, and a long press on Volume Down will skip to the previous track. How disappointed I was when I discovered it was not the case on the Galaxy S3!
Is there a simple way to have this working (no custom ROM, no super complicated hacking...)? Is it a modification by Samsung itself? Cause apparently applications I was using before on my old HTC that supported this feature don't skip anymore when I long press on Volume Up button... instead, it just destroy my ears with a super loud volume! How useful is that?!
I don't want to change the stock ROM, as I had a lot of troubles before with custom ROMs on my previous smartphone (either the GPS wouldn't work anymore, or the camera, or another thing...)
Thanks in advance for your help and advices!
EDIT: I found a way to achieve this. Check out my other post!
.Hi, my question is very simple, I would like to learn how to customize my volume keys to skip music, I tried the Xposed module GravityBox unfortunately it didn't work so I would like to know what things has to be modified to succeed this easy tweak
Making a flashable zip or editing the build.prop I'll do it
Just precise I don't want useless app just to do that
Thanks in advance

Edit : XBlastTool's working great
try Frinky Music Controller on Google Play
I always wanted to have an app which controls music with volume keys but i could not find any which does it smoothly. So I developed my own . My app Frinky Music Controller on GOOGLE PLAY controls music with volume keys and smartly controls music volume. It supports more 200 music players and Spotify. It works on both rooted and non-rooted phones.
Some features of the app are :
Next Song -- press volume UP key single time to play next song.
Previous Song -- use volume DOWN key to play previous song.
Control Volume -- when we want to control music volume , most of the time we press volume key more than once (next time when you adjust volume , feel it) . So the app uses this tendency of users as a function to control music volume i.e press volume key more than once to adjust volume.
Stop song -- Oh! you play music in your class in absence of professor here comes the professor .... turn off the music quickly by UP+UP+DOWN+DOWN key action (it takes less time than muting the volume and unlocking the screen ).
Sleep Timer : Single sleep timer for all your music apps.
Manually control app's service : well to understand this feature you will have to download the app.
It consumes very less amount of ram.
Sorry I can not post a link here as I am new here.
