Hi All,
I got my HTC one and was playing with it for some days and decided to root and make it a google play edition. I did the following steps
1. Unlocked BootLoader from HTCDEV
2. Rooted and did S-OFF (Using REVONE)
3. Was trying to update MID to the GPE and tried to flash the .zip having the MID, CID using HBOOT and phone froze at RUU
4. I did a reboot and now phone is not turning on.
When I connect it to my PC I could hear the sound of it recognizing my phone but nothing is showing up. ADB and FASTBOOT not recognizing the device.
Does it mean my phone is hard bricked>??
If so, is there a JTAG service for HTC one?? The bootloader is still unlocked and i wont get anything from HTC as my warranty is void
Please help!!

Did you flash eng hboot?
Did you flash the eng hboot? Isn't that the only way to change MID? or no? if you can try to boot into fastboot that way. I did the same thing with mine and thought i screwed it up. you should be able to rebootRUU and reflash the tmobile firmware to get you back on your way
Mine did the exact same thing. In fact I never saw the gray spotted screen. You just have to do a combination of button holds while plugging it in.. and it will boot. I had to hold mine for almost 2 straight minutes
You have to manually boot back into RUU mode..it has very specific instructions when flashing ehboot. Why would you go through all the trouble of a MID change when there are many awesome gpe roms? When I changed my mid I could only tell it was doing anything was because my computer made that connection ping.. otherwise the phone screen stayed completely black!!

Hi handman29,
I wanted the stock GPE ROM mainly for the direct OTA's from google. Could you please let me know how to manually bring back RUU
Does your phone show up when you type fastboot devices? If so you should be able to get back.
Edit: sorry didn't realize you said already.

Thanks,
I tried every possible way and gave up. I sent my phone over to HTC and they fixed it for free. The phone is on its way back.
Thank you very much for all your inputs.

Sir, today i tried to root my DHD running android 2.3.3 with the advance hack kit. after going through the effinn manual i started the process, it completed successfully but once the phone booted.. all i got to see was the white screen with the green htc logo. i tried to root again after some time and now the phone got WORSE. Htc logo with 4 warning signs at the corner. I tried a lot of things.. and finally installed this RUU (official) through my pc...while the screen still showed same htc logo with 4 warning signs in the corner..
RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.72.405.3_R_Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_release_161342_signed.exe .
Now my phone takes around 20-25 minutes to boot. and runs android 2.2.1 .
what do i do now? try n root the phone again with the advance hack kit or if i take it to the htc service center and ask them to re-install the software for my phone? or is there a way i can myself reset if to the factory settings?
Please. PLease help!.. this is deep mess.(for me atleast)

ThANk you for your help sir. but my phone wont go into fastboot i think. Because i even checked with root check pro and it shows that my phone isn't Rooted . Also.. if my phone shuts down and i have to restart it, i press the power button and my phone starts 20mins after that.
Also, the charging light still remains for 1-2 minutes even after i remove the charger.

Go to the ace hack kit IRC they will help you. The problem is a messed up bootloader. A search would have told you this. So would have reading the ace hack kit thread
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
I rooted my Sprint HTC Evo 4glte and everything went fine, but I then I just installed 3DChainfire app without thinking.. installed it and when the phone restarted. My Phone would go to the Pamper page and after that it goes blank.
I would turn the power on and it would make my buttons flicker and then goes back to the pamper (HTC brillantly quiet) and shutsdown or goes black.
Is there anyways to reset the phone or somehow to get the phone back to the stock settings? Thank you for your help.
Looking on Chainfire3D on Market need Root which you have but S-OFF is also needed on HTC devices. After root did you also unlock bootloader? I am certainly novice but this might be the problem?
You can run the ruu it will take you back to stock, if you made a backup nows the time to use it.

After trying to run the RUU, it is stuck at reading the bootloader. After a minute or two it will say that the port or USB is not plugged in right. I plugged it in and everything is okay. It errors. My Phone screen will load and stay at the screen saying HTC.

Unfortunely I did not unlock the bootloader.
anyone able to help me? If there is any other solutions let me know? I also wonder if I bring it back to the store will they give me a new phone or no? Thank you.
Did you relock the bootloader before trying to run the RUU?
Through fastboot:
fastboot oem lock
Thanks everyone for helping me, I was able to find the solution to fixing my HTC EVO 4G LTE. I just had to load up the bootloader (by pressing power button+volume down button+ camera button) on my phone and reset it back to factory settings. Everyone works again now! Still ROOTED so good to go!
I have what I think is an unusual booting splash screen. It is the first thing to show up after turning on.
I also booted in to the Odin menu just to see the status and took a picture of that.
I just got my phone today and have done nothing other than install normal applications, I haven't tried to root or flash anything.
I watched a video of some other verizon SGS3 owner turning on their device and that unlocked lock icon and custom do not appear.
Anyone know what this means?

You will probably get a better response if you post this in Q&A. I don't know the answer to your question though. I am curious what they answer is.
it comes up once you've flashed something using odin
if you'll notice on the third image, next to "SYSTEM STATUS:" it says "Custom" this means something other than something official has been flashed to it
i'd really like to know how you did this
me too
Like I said, I haven't done anything. I have actually not even plugged it into my computer yet via usb cable.
Maybe it came rooted

Its not rooted
I suspected that and tried to just download superSU and it doesn't work, says phone isn't rooted.
Assuming you bought yours brand new from the store, I'd go back. But first I'd try removing the microsd card and booting up. Then try the SIM card, then boot up again. If its still the same, something is up with your device. It keeps booting up into download mode. :S
I don't think he was saying it boots into DL mode on its own, just that he went into DL mode to confirm he's not running anything custom, which it appears he is not.
Strange that it would show the custom boot image when you're running the official ROM. I don't know that that's a bad thing, or that it's worth returning the phone. Might be worth calling Verizon and talking to them about it. At the least you then have a record that your phone was doing that from the beginning, so if you have to return it later on after installing custom ROMs, you can say it was always like that

Please please don't return to VZW. See if a dev can help you to get dump. You could be holding the key to save tens of thousands of us.
This is very interesting. Subscribing to thread!
Although yours isn't rooted and perhaps not unlocked, the devs can check out what's different in your device through a dump and it could assist them in achieving root and unlocking the bootloader. I don't really know a whole lot about developing, so maybe that's not possible

Hey,
I have an HTC One X+ with a little issue:
The phone does not boot up to a rom
I can access the boot loader (HBOOT 1.32)
ADB can't see it (Or I just suck with adb)
AAAaaaand recovery looks like its been wiped.
Help?
You can't use adb at hboot, you may only use fastboot (and only if the bootloader is unlocked). If your bootloader is indeed unlocked then you can use fastboot to flash a new recovery, and then use that recovery to flash a rom. How exactly did you manage to wipe the vast majority of your phone?

I've been reading up. I actually was handed this by a client. Never flashed a phone before, so was just picking up after them. Thanks very much for the fast reply. He says he was following a Youtube video.
On another note, whenever I try to flash the update.zip I get an error:
Archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
Archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'
error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt
I imagine it's a fairly straight forward fix, I just don't know my way around (yet).
Tried dumping EMPTY *.txt files in. New error!
Archive does not contain 'boot.sig'
Archive does not contain 'recovery.img'
Archive does not contain 'system.img'
error: update package missing system.img
Help?
Do you know what the devices CID is? If not you can use the command "fastboot getvar cid" from fastboot. Once you know the cid, search the forum for the correct RUU. Once you have a compatible RUU, conect device to PC while in bootloader and run the RUU. This will restore stock firmare.
Also before you flash the RUU. Make sure the devices bootloader is locked. If it is unlocked. You can use the command "fastboot oem lock" to lock it.

If your phone is bricked this is what will happen. Your phone will shutdown immediately, refuse to start, and the LED will flash red and green when connected to a charger. If this is not happening, your phone is save. Now, clear all ROMs in your phone, make it empty, no ROM, no data. Then, lock the bootloader and flash the stock HTC ROM that can be found in the ROM's thread. This error could be because your flashed an AT&T ROM for an international model, or vice versa. Also, flashing mods that are not for stock ROM can lead to this problem. If this problem cannot be solved, then my advice is to forcefully brick your phone by flashing an incorrect recovery, then bring it to HTC and tell them that for some unknown reason the phone became very hot and stopped functioning. They will believe it as there is a very very powerful engine inside that phone that has every chance of overheating. Good Luck!

Still having that red blinking light issue. Problem is, it doesn't take a charge. When I connect the phone up to the wall, it just gets hot and the led blinks red. I've thought about removing the battery and wiring it directly to the charger, but I'd rather not void the warranty (more than I have already).
Thoughts?

u can try unplug turn off and on phone power button down volume down get to bootloader usb plug in and out ur charger while phone is booting to bootloader and get it to where it shows red not blinking let it sit i played with mine 2 days finaly got it back but its only the begaining..
AW: Powers off at boot, except bootloader
Are you unlocked and with custom recovery? If yes just go to recovery from boot loader and let it sit on the charger. Now it should charge unless you have some old twrp version with broken charging.

Hello, my phone into a brick. Energy installed firmware and immediately after I put Atrix-CM9-Kernel-026b1-ext4-1.45GHz.zip BUT my phone Ruby! I do not put on my device and not for its firmware. Now the phone does not turn on the charge lamp is not lit. The program Amaze_All-In-One_Kit tried to enter the bootloader, but the computer does not see the phone.Drivers installed, HTC Sync is a new version. S-OFF, root, 4EXT.
If I press the volume button down + power button did not work.
What else can I do? Throw the phone? Sorry, I do not speak English.
Well I believe you bricked your phone because of the atrix kernel. If the phone has warranty try sending it back but just tell them that the phone will not turn on & nothing else. If you do have warrenty pm me if not dont.
Y the hell would you flash a kernel from a different device!?!? I think you might just be the first person to officially "brick" the Amaze. I would do wat Justin said, hopefully it is still under warranty. If not, well, then things aren't looking too good

Have you tried pulling the battery, letting it sit a minute then put it back in? If you do get it to come on make sure you have a copy of the RUU on your sdcard and have it named PH85IMG.zip and go to the bootloader screen.
I don't have a solution for you, but this poses an interesting question, and that is how can flashing any kind of kernal affect your phones bootloader? I am still learning the ropes here, but my current understanding is that to brick an htc loaded with android, one would have to either flash a broken radio or bootloader file, through the bootloader itself. How can a kernal affect the boot sequence? Just wondering.
Need help. To restore my phone, need an image of the system.

The image can be copied using the "Riff"
