I tried to port JoyOS to our device 10 times but I can't be successful. Please help me. I used the tutorial from http://www.blindndumb.in/2012/05/guide-how-to-port-joyos-to-your-device.html.
It's always stuck at boot screen. Please help me. Thank thanks you so much
Porting is major pain. I have tried doing it dozens of times and only succeeded once. Used baked 6 from evo Og. The guides only show the basic steps to get you started. The rest is up to us to figure out. Each device and ROM is different. If you keep at it you might just get it going.

I knew it but how can I improve it? I don't know
Trial and error is what I had to do. Plus learning how to read the logcat files will help you considerably.
What are you using for your source of joyOS and what is your base for the 3vo?

First, we need a kernel to support this. Then add lib/egl. And a couple other things and it may boot. If not logcat, and see what the errors are and add those files that error from a photon rom.
Also, can u link me there? I don't see it.

I know it's early and hard to get too much accomplished with the uniqueness of our device not to mention the s-on issue.
But I'm just curious if anyone has heard any rumor or knows anything about anyone working on a MIUI port.. I'm not expecting much yet as we don't even have any aosp goodness yet. But I thought I'd get the conversation started.

miui can be sense based (though until theres an official jellybean sense build, its tough to make your own patch rom)
i took a swing at getting miui launcher working on our stock build but kinda gave up when something that should have worked right...didnt
i may revisit it after christmas, idk
working on a sense base but theres alot of issues lol
also working on a asop base but i have talked to a few who claim the kernel will never let it boot so im still optimistic about it working but full functional no tell at this point

I tried to port it off of the cm10 base but I just got a error 7 in recovery before it would even begin to flash the Rom... Granted my porting was just copying most of the stuff off of a one xl and I just followed a basic tutorialon how to port so it really did not surprise me when it did not boot... Curse my noob knowledge of deving

also did you set all of your permissions correct? move all correct files over?and as far as updater-script i will try and put my build on github tonight but as im also thinking of changing to arch linux over ubuntu as im done with the non updating they issue so late lol.
and when ubuntu os is ready you willing to help?
Lol I think I did I really am a noob at linux and developing. I can follow a tutorial real well (which I did with the first attempt at porting but you saw how far I got) I just want to be fully clear with you my experiencecause I don't want you to expect you have a professional working with you. But anyway I think I did. I copied over the permissions from the port rom folder to the base roms folder but I might have missed a few...

That is a whole nother ballgame, ubuntu touch is a pain. Lol
I've given up on working on it for now, as i really need my phone to be working 110% all the time, so im back to stock....with a handful of modifications ofc.
Using th3bills cm10.1 i was trying to just port it over without having to.build like they say in the porting guide, and no luck outside of a loop. User error really. Its best left to the trusted devs, etc round here.
Our phones can handle it great, and then some, BUT, as with anything over the stock gb, without drivers things dont work as they should. Ubuntu touch is really frikkin awesome to look st, but even if someone ports it, it is only a preview an 90% of the features wont work or are just placeholders. Id let it sit a while, not worth a damn atm. But it does give you a taste of the ui. Which, is tough getting used to as it is very gesture oriented as apposed to click here scroll here that we do on android.
-Cheers- Signed,

Thanks for share sir .. i though anyone haven't try it yet .. i follow the ubuntu touch forum every day hope that some of our great dev will port it. But i still wait it until happen.. i hope

If I can find some free time in my super-busy college schedule, I'd like to try my hand at porting it for us. Not just because it would be awesome to have it, but because I'd like to eventually do some app development for it (and it looks like a badass OS for a phone).

Unfortunately not. Ubuntu requires it to be unlocked. (ubuntu ATM is highly reliant on cm10 still, so if you can't run cm10,which 2.3.5 can't)
Your stuck between a rock and a hard place

What is the point? We need a decent kernel that can actually support our phone. Atrix 4G succeeded, and all development has halted here. This phone seems pretty much done. Very disappointing.
After hours of mess ups I've finally created a COMPLETE (extremely detailed) video (guide) on how to To S-OFF, Unlock, Install Custom Recovery for the HTC EVO 3D (CDMA). There are 4 different parts. The first 2 parts are for the users that have already unlocked boot loader, installed recovery and a ROM. If this is your first time doing any of this to your stock HTC evo 3d (CDMA) then you can skip to part 3. In each video there will be a link in the description for the next part. I hope this works for everyone that watches it and please like, sub. And pass it on to others who need help with this! Thanks again to everyone who has helped me s-off my phone and do all i have done to it today! I LOVE XDA!! Please let me know of anything you don't understand or any problem you run in to (if you do).
Also, the videos might seem long I just want to assure that your HTC EVO 3D is s-off, unlocked, and recovery installed. Please watch all 4 parts and your phone will be all of this!
I am using windows and only know how to do this for (WINDOWS).
Link to part 1 [GUIDE]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfgar9Flb_c
Please keep this thread Alive as long as possible! Thanks!
I will try this week to look over all of the videos again and create a text [GUIDE] as well.
