[Q] i9100 imei & baseband unknown,,,how to repair? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi all,my sg i9100zslpg 4.0.3 show imei & baseband unknown,,,,plz help me to fix it,
i search forum but not understand clearly much to fix it,plz guide me,
thanks.

Try flashing some stock roms. If that doesn't work, it's a fairly expensive trip to a service centre or somewhat less expensive trip to a local mobile repair shop.

can you link me with that appropriate stock rom for such problem,or can i try with new jelly bean 4.1.2?

Go to Samfirmware, choose a rom for your carrier (important with this issue in particular) with the pulldown boxes, download the rom, unzip the tar file, throw away the .dll & flash the tar in the PDA section of Odin. And pray as it reboots that your IMEI will be back when you go into settings/about phone/status. You already know what will be happening if you still have the generic IMEI.

my device is rooted, does i need to unroot it first and can i flash the 4.0.4 jplpj on it?

Do not flash 4.0.4. Stay away from it. That you don't know flashing stock firmware will remove root is illustrative of why you find yourself in the position you're currently in.

ok,as i understand you that firstly i unroot device then flash rom,
can i use 4.1.2 XWLSD?

No need to Unroot the phone ma8, just flash the Stock JB 4.1.2 XWLSD firmware pertained to ur region from PC Odin and it will unroot ur phone for u
Alternatively, u can also use 'Mobile ODin' on ur phone (which is rooted for now) to flash the same Stock JB 4.1.2 XWLSD firmware pertained to ur region

If you want to downgrade it, I would look at flashing KE1 with Odin. Have a look in the android development forum.
It was my understanding that flashing official roms does not increase the counter, but flashing anything else does. So flashing the custom kernel will increase the counter. You can look at getting yourself a jig to reset it.
As for rerooting, yes, you'll need to do that again after flashing down to KE1.
Or you can just stick with it, I've heard it doesn't actually prevent functionality, it's just annoying. I'd anticipate a KE3 soon to fix the problem.
Personally if on Orange i would wait for the upgrade due KE3 .
Original firmware Orange branded phone is warranted by seller .
Stock firmware via Odin and Samfirmware is stock Samsung firmware . Seller may reject this under warranty but Samsung cover it .
Kies will probably not update requires Odin and Samfirmware for updates .
Rooting breaks your warranty full stop and requires removing before warranty claims .

[Q] Samsung Galaxy s2 Unroot desperate help please.

Hey there guys, now I know this topic has probably been done to death, but Ive been through so many threads with similar problems, but I cant seem to get mine to solve.
Basically I have a samsung galaxy s2, Uk t-mobile;
PDA: I9100BOKK1
PHONE: I9100XXLPH
CSC: I9100TMUKK1
I want to restore this to factory settings and unroot the phone,
Now im aware that I just need to flash a stock rom, but I cant find the stock rom for my phone.
Could someone please post the download for the correct stock rom for my phone, and also tell the process for restoring the stock rom to my rooted phone.
Thank you so much

Hello,
go to sammobile, search for your device. Select your country and provider even Gingerbread 2.3.6 or ICS 4.0.3. download Odin 1.85 too.
Unzip the downloaded file. You get a .tar file.
If you flash the .tar file (select PDA in Odin 1.85)you will return to stock and the phone will even be unrooted.

How to go back an Android version without root on S3?

I have the international S3 GT i9300 and have been waiting for the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update. Being the impatient person I am I got bored and download the 4.1.2 Touchwiz ROM for my phone and flashed it with Odin without root. However, now as the update is near, I'd rather have the official version. So I'd like to revert back to 4.1 so I can get the update. Kies is saying it isn't compatible with the firmware but is this because it isn't out yet? If its going to always say this, and it will affect later updates, how do I go back to 4.1 without root? Or will I need to root? On the other hand, if this wont affect anything and will be the same as the official, then shall I just keep with what i have?
Thanks alot
Restore your exact saved original firmware .
Or restore it from CHECKFUS .
t isn't compatible with the firmware but is this because it isn't out yet
No you no longer have Samsung firmware that matches the codes .
Root has nothing to do with updates .
Simplest would be to read the Guides .

thank you in advance!
Techno.
Q&A is right there for you
Go to samobile a and get latest stock unbranded Rom for your region
Run triangle away
Flash stock Rom
Go into recovery and factory reset
This will put you back to factory/as new condition, note it will wipe your sd card.
The stock Rom includes kernel

[q] imei lost after unroot

Hello Guys. I went into a bit trouble here...
I have Samsung S3 for more than 1 year, and I already flashing it with custom ROM without proper backup (foolish yeah i know)...
And now, I want to return to my official stock rom (unroot). Since i am from Indonesia, I found that the latest firmware my country has from S3 is 4.1.2 (from samsung-updates and sammobile websites) like this :
GT-I9300 Galaxy S III
PDA: I9300XXEMF6
CSC: I9300OLBEMF3
MODEM: I9300DXEMB1
Added: 2013-07-23
I reset the binary counter with triangle away and unroot it with mobile odin, but the problem is my imei was like "0049...../1" and I cannot make any calls or sms (not registered from network).
After reading a bunch of threads, i found the solution was to root it back again and install modem XXEMG4...
Is there anything I could do to have a working unroot phone? like using official stock rom from other country perhaps?
cheers
Yes it is the Modem problem. And for heaven's sake as soon as you root make a backup and backup your efs partition as well before you get into a bigger mess. Flash a stock rom that has the modem MG4 or flash a 4.3 rom of any country it hardly matters.
If i unroot it with a 4.3 rom from any country, then can i update through option "software update" or should i flash it again if there is any update in the future?
Thanks for the explanation!

no i dont think...but you can try by KIES..that may be possible..but some users have reported that kies also doesnt work for them..but you always have ODIN to flash firmware of other country or any your country whenevr it comes..
:good:
So i still have to root it?
Root doesn't matter, you cannot use the firmware of modem for your country as it is efs v1 and you didn't take a backup before you changed to v2.
There is no way back, you'll just have to wait for 4.3 to be released in your country if you want stock and unmodified status again.
