Hi.
i have made a little application pushed in /system/app with adb qui connect to a server and sometime download apk for updating/installing apk on the device.
My application is a kind of "updater". I alreay can : install new apk
But i cant update an apk which is already installed in /system/app/
I dont know why, but the update is in /data/app/my-update-1.apk
The application use the new version but, if i reboot the device (a Tao3530 tsunami board), the apk in /data/app/ is deleted and the old /system/app/original.apk version used.
Why did i have this behavior ?
How could i update an /system/app apk ? (without using ADb of course )
If i need to use SU command (to push from download folder to /system/app, how could i root the board ?*
Thank you for any answer !
Just a piece of advice
If you are a developer go to android development if not i think you have to root your device and change permissions
---------- Post added at 11:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:11 AM ----------
I also suggest to google your device and use this words "" how to root -the name of your device- "" or in youtube///
Did you manage to find a way to do this?

What is the nessary steps to delet a apk and replace with a new one using root explorer. I'm on a miui rom and i am having proplems sending and reciving a picture or a video. I have a fixed mma.apk to solve this proplem but not
sure on the proper steps to do this. I tryed to find this answer in different forums but no luck. Hopefully some one can give me the answer. (Thanks)
I don't know about root explorer, I've always used Terminal Emulator (It's free)
Then you can move or copy the mms.apk to the system folder.
cp /sdcard/Mms.apk /system/app/

That's just an example, and you'll need to use the command su first to gain root access. You'll have to point it to wherever the mms.apk is.
cp - copy
mv - move
I found when I did this before (Miui 1014 MMS worked for me just the way I flashed it), my messaging disappeared from the bar at the bottom, but reappeared with the apps. I just had to move the shortcut back to the bottom.
I have HCL Me U1 tablet with following things done on it:
1) Rooted
2) Google Play installed
3) Display DPI changed to 120
My problem is that many popular apps on Google Play are incompatible with it. The display resolution is 800x480, which is standard.
How do I make it compatible with Google Play??
Searching for incompatibility, gave some results about display DPI, but it did not solve my issue.

Try modifying your build.prop file, specifically ro.product.device to maguro and you can also try modifying ro.product.model to Galaxy Nexus.
Code:
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.device=maguro
Hopefully this should greatly increase your app compatibility as pretty much every app out there is compatible with the Galaxy Nexus. If this doesn't work you can always try side-loading the APK files of the apps your really want that the play store claims are "incompatible". Let me know if this helps

Yes, the easiest way is to use ROM manager and select the fix permissions option or you can use the fix permissions app you can find in the play store.

[Q] Replacing "accounts.db" than reload it without device reboot - Possible?
Title says it.
After flashing my own, or stock Roms, I use a batch file to restore Google and Wifi settings.
I replace accounts.db, wpa_supplicant.conf and a few others.
After restoring, I reboot the device and everything works.
But can I somehow "reload" the .db files, without Reboot?
BUMP
I am looking to do the same thing. Ever figure out a solution?

I am looking at how android 4.3 uses the switchUser method in the activity manager class. Maybe it does something that reloads the accounts.db file we can single out and just use. Since when a user does switch it obviously loads a different accounts.db file.

I'm running 4.1.2 happily rooted and customized how I like it, I don't want to upgrade at all but I get the popup on my phone every 12 hours and it cancels whatever app I was using at the time, I want to get rid of it. I did some searching and found you should attempt to rename or delete or move BlurUpdater_vzw.apk and the odex file in /system/app but I can only copy the app, can't rename or delete using es file explorer with root permission applied. So how can I disable this annoying popup?

Been messing around trying to figure this out for a while, and finally got it, (O is kind of a different animal than previous versions), so thought I'd share...
Need:
- root
- deodexed apps, (maybe). Apktool needs framework-res and SystemUI to be imported as framework, in order to function properly. I deodexed my SystemUI apk for that purpose, but might not be necessary. As far as modifying, Apktool can decompile resources of an odex apk which you can modify and recompile. You can replace whatever particular apps you want with deodexed ones, if odex isn't working out. TOAD deodexer by Ticklefish works great for O.
- superuser mod, (disable signature verification). Typically not hard to do with Xposed, but no working Xposed for us atm, so need to patch services.jar. There's more than one way to do it, but simplest thing at this point is probably smali.patcher Magisk module. I attached my services.jar, but be aware that it is deodexed, so if you are using it on stock odex rom, (like I am), you need to copy the file to your phone storage, then go to recovery file manager, and delete your services.jar, and also services.odex, services.vdex, and services.art from /system/framework/oat/arm64. Then copy the new services.jar to /system/framework, and set permissions 644. I'm pretty sure smali patcher can do it on odex no problem.
- Selinux permissive. More than one way to do it. I used Magisk module.
-ApktoolX 8 installer by Androblack - https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262904013039
- Mixplorer, with archive and signer add-ons.
- good text editor. Mixplorer has a pretty good code editor built in, but still not as solid as QuickEdit by Rhinosoft.
1. Install ApktoolX installer. First thing that pops up when you open it is 'install ApktoolX', so then do that. Then open the app, and go to settings, and check 'root', then exit the app, and reopen it, and grant root. Then go back to settings and select 'install openjdk'. After it installs, open it and you will see a message 'openjdk is running'.
2. Make a directory somewhere called 'apktool' or something, and copy /system/framework/framework-res.apk and /system/priv-app/SystemUI/SystemUI.apk to it, plus any other apks you want to modify. Open ApktoolX, go to apktool directory, and click on framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk and select 'import as framework'. Now Apktool is set up.
3. Decompile, modify, and recompile whatever you want. After recompile, you will get a new apk called (app)_src.apk. This needs to be signed.
4. Open Mixplorer, and long-press on the ...src.apk app and choose 'sign > auto' from the three-dot menu. There will be a new apk created called (app)_src_sign.apk. This is ready to push to system. Note that ApktoolX also has a signing feature, which might do the same thing. I don't know for sure what signature it uses or if it's the same as what Mixplorer does. Test it if you want.
5. Delete your stock app, (back it up first if you're smart), and replace it with the new one. Rename the new one to the same as the original, (just because). Best to do this in recovery, but you can actually replace system apps while booted, (except for framework res), and just force stop the app in Settings and reopen it.
I've attached deodexed SystemUI and patched Services.jar, (including superuser mod, and signature spoof for MicroG), both from 34.4.A.118
Also, here's my dark-mod apks if anyone wants, (see screenshots). Note that there may be some bugs, (mainly some dark-on-dark icons, but I also know that 'system icons' option in display settings causes fc, because of some framework-res mod, [not really a problem since SystemUI tuner works fine]). I may or may not bother trying to fix them. Use as-is if you want.
Update - fixed most of the black-on-black, and fixed the System Icons Settings function. New zip linked
https://mega.nz/#!l10wFaqA!GfZEPcSwo3Ek3gZyCE64JXj2U45Yp3qhCxvDxIMDtbc
Apks are deodexed, so if you're replacing your odexed ones, make sure to delete oat folder.
