I remember I saw one today actually. Look in the themes and apps section

Oh, that was the statusbar widget. I'm at home, but it's quite late already. You can extracts the framework res and/or systemui from the zip of the T. E. A. M. ROM which is in the development section, otherwise I can send you the file tomorrow maybe. Or if your good with photoshop you could create it yourself.

it isn´t working...tried it and the statusbar dissappeared I had all the right permissions set and rebooted...nada so I restored the original systemui.apk
I can't read all post but if you want transparent status bar .
Rename app .zip
Unzip it find status bar bg (black bar)
Now simple PC program paint.net
Go to layers now transparency
Set to 150 save if you haven't or can't do post here let me know if that's all you want I'll do for you
No problem I'm doing other stuff
But I fit it in for you

Here's statusbar_background.png.
I tried to replace it with the default file in framework-res, but I can't notice any changes.
Here's the framework-res I modded.
I tried replacing the framework-res provided by you sdk16420 and now Im in a bootloop I backed up my original framework on a sdcard.I think I didnt properly replace the framework-res.apk I renamed the modified one to framework-res2.apk and copied to the system framework folder...then I deleted the original one there and all the apps started crashing until I was left with the black screen...then I managed to reboot it...and now Im in a bootloop can I somehow replace the original one from my sdcard with the one that is currently in the system framework folder ? through adb or something ? And thank you korma when I get out from this bootloop Ill attach my original framework-res.apk and if your not too busy then maybe you could mod it for me because Im not too good with modifying apks ?
Ok so I didnt find a way to restore it with adb...I know its possible, but I just didnt have time to look around for an answer so I reinstalled the rom.
So here is my framework-res.apk could someone please modify it and reupload it and tell me how to properly replace it so I dont end up in a bootloop again ? Thank you

"Hello, I don't want to search, tell me how to do it"
Editing SystemUI -> Google (Apktool, decompile, edit, recompile)
Backing up -> Copying to SD maybe???
Tools: Apktool, brain
Apk is zip
Most simple way is to just copy icon.png to folder res/drawable-hdpi. That all folks.

If u editing just icons and graphic u don't need to decompile/recompile. Just open the .apk file with 7zip, or WinRar, change icons that u want to change and that's it.

Icons for quickpanel are located in SystemUI.apk. If u don't have icon for "gps acquired" in SystemUI.apk Quickpanel.apk will take any other available icon in change, I think.

Hi Friends,
This is a little Tutorial about changing app icons permanently. There was a lot of applications available in Playstore like “ icon changer free” etc etc to change the app icons. But the problem is that u cant use that changed apps in ur app drawer. U can only use that in ur home screen as a shortcut.
So I just decided to put a little tutorial to do that easily. I know everybody will know this already. But it will help for someone I am sure….
Credit goes to my friend dewanshu93 for teaching me this by personally
Credit Why So Serious? For the Icons
(And Sorry For My Bad English)
Tools Needed:-
(a) One PC
(b) 7 zip
(c) Some good icons
STEPS:-
1) Get some cool icons from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207136 and save it ur PC. Give him big thanks for the work.
Edit:- If u need some cool Galaxy S4 icons means go here: - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2216289 Please give thanks for his work..
2) Put the apps u want to change the icons to a Folder in ur PC. For example SemcAlbum, Phonebook, Browser etc
3) Here I am taking the Phonebook app for Example..
4) Right Click the Phonebook apk -> Open With -> 7zip File Manager. Then U will get a box contained some files like the attached Image 1
5) Then double click on the res folder and u get another box like attached Image 2
6) Find the folder named “ drawable-xhdpi “ and open it. U will get This Image 3
7) And most important thing is u need to find the original icon and its name of the phonebook.apk or whatever apk u take …
8) For that an easy way is create a new folder in ur PC’s Desktop and select all the images from the box ( Image 3 ) then drag it to the that new folder in the desktop.
9)Then open that folder then search for original the apk icon. Look in to Image 4
10) In my case the name of the Phonebook.apk’s icon is “ic_launcher_contacts “. So just note down the icon name and then open the folder that contains the icons that u downloaded. Image 5
11) And choose which icon u need and select it. Then rename it to the exact name of the original apk icon. ( For example ic_launcher_contacts )
12) After that just drag that renamed icon to res/drawable-xhdpi. It will ask for over right. Press Ok or Yes. Do the same process for res/drawable-hdpi and drawable-mdpi. Means drag the icon to these folders too. That’s it. Copy the apk to ur phone and move it to the System/app with correct permission…
Check the lastly Attached Two images for ur refference .
U can do it with almost all the apks. But I cant guarantee that it will work with all apks. Some System apks did not worked for me…
And also u can take icos from other apks too..
And this is my first work in XDA. Any mistake is there means I am sorry…
Thanks....

Actually u will not get automatic backup when u downloading any apps from playstore. For that u need any backup apps. Ultimate backup will done the job. Install ultimate backup from playstore first. Open it go to settings and check the box allow automatic backup some thing like that. Then download the apps u need from playstore. It will automatically backuped in ur internel storage. So u can take the apks from there and then change the icons and then install it again...

Guys I need help here to port lidroid dropdown toggles which I tried by following this thread:

I have done with settings and done with systemui. All went right, no errors when decompiling, recompiling, signing, etc. But when I installed my ui. I only get blackscreen without status bar. I think its android manifest xml or something which cause this. This is my systemui:

I've asked for assistance in og thread but we all have different devices there so I think I should ask for assistance here too. I hope someone could help me with this. Thanks in advance. Btw, I'm running stock jb 4.1.2 retail eu.

When i port Power Toggles i just modifyed Settings.apk. If your toggles requiest edit SystemUI.apk and Manifest.xml then you need resign SystemUI.apk after complie. To get it to work with new signature you need sign all other systems apk include framework-res.apk. Just not google apps.
Thank you will try that later. I have signed my ui, but only systemui and still no luck. So I'll try your advice then.

Hi guys,
I recently saw that Sony had releases "music" beta app.. Now I love the app but I did not like the icon and "music" text.
Basic searching and I came across ApkTool and I did all I can..
I rebuilt the Apk but there seems to be either "application not installed" error or "error parsing package" error.
I tried using signapk also tried moving the META-INF from orginal Apk to my modded one..
Can u please tell me if I am missing any steps or am I going wrong anywhere.
i have old walkman icon in latest beta.
when i try to decompile the apk it's not succesful.
if you want to change the app name you should decompile the apk,
go to res => values => strings.xml,
open it with notepad++ &
search after this
Code:
<string name="music_app_action_bar_title_txt">Music</string>
<string name="music_app_name_txt">Music</string>
change it to
Code:
<string name="music_app_action_bar_title_txt">Walkman</string>
<string name="music_app_name_txt">Walkman</string>
save changes, recompile, sign & test if it works

What is this? Let me explain you. It will Bypass the signature checking of sony. Sometimes when we mod any system app and put it back in to system with correct permission but the app doesn't work or doesn't install or force closes. Or Some of the apps from other sony device like Z1, Z Ultra, Z etc. are not installing in our phone even we put them in system with correct permission but they don't work. Most of the time these problems are happening because of signature checking.

lucky patcher brings a xposed module where you can activate signature verification always true, disable .apk signature verification & disable signature verification in package manager.
you don't need to modify your services.jar etc
installed your modded apk as a normal app & works
