I'm currently flashed with the latest nightly of CyanogenMod 10.2 which is 9/5. I'm not really sure when it started but a bit after I installed 10.1 I was unable to send text messages out. However was able to receive messages just fine. I've searched around quite a bit, and checked the same issues on various forums, none which have a good solution to what the problem is. Wondering if there is any insight as to what the probably cause to this would be? I never really had an issue with CM10.1 when I used it on my Samsung Captivate. Now that I switched over to the i777 I don't really see why I'm having this issue.

Could be a few things:
APN issue. Check that what you have under the 3 MMS fields match those of your carrier.
Are you using the stock messaging app or a 3rd party one? If it's the latter that's likely the culprit as well.
Or it could simply be a nightly problem, which is why it's generally best to use RC's. Nightlies rarely offer real upgrades, and often cause problems due to constant dirty flashing/carryovers from previous builds.

I'm using the stock messaging app. My APN is correct. I'll try the RC version.
EDIT: Nope the RC didn't change anything, I've looked around and I havn't been able to figure out anything. I'm able to send MMS messages, just not SMS. If I switch the chip back into my captivate it can send texts just fine.

So I found out that nobody is receiving my texts anymore on my vibrant. I upgraded to cm7 worked great then I did the nightly upgrade and it will still say its sent but people don't receive them. So I wiped everything started again upgraded to miui and I still have the same problem. Could there be something wrong with my network settings I messed with the testing setting a little (you know the *#*#4636#*#*) when i was tryin to fix the battery drain on cm7 which i never did
Make sure that your APNs are set correctly. There is one in there for data and wireless and also one for MMS. I find that when I have had problems like this in the past it has been due to those SMS/MMS settings being missed.
If i were you i'd just give TMO a call and ask what your APN is just to be sure that its not different or anything...
If i had this problem on more than one rom, i'd panic and do that right away.

I'm seeing that most people use go sms pro as a work around to this. I installed it and still no MMS. I also see that people did editing to some of the options under the advanced menu which involves changing the I want to say the address of what MMS uses to send which also look to be carrier specific. Since I don't know what these are called I've found it difficult to find. If anyone could offer some assistance in me getting my MMS working again that'd be great.

All you need to do is add the APN's for your carrier.

I did find the APN and got picture messaging, both send and receive working, but what's strange is that multi message texts wont send.

i think that might just be a bug that hasn't been fixed. not sure though.
I also do not have MMS, after flashing Th3Bill's CM10 10/28 build. Anyone know what the issue is?

EDIT: tried the SIII method, then and added the APN's manually. Then the new version came out, so I reflashed and did a factory reset. That seemed to do the trick!
So I've been trying different things to hopefully get Delivery Reports working 100%. I've got an AT&T Samsung Galaxy SII i777 of course. I'm on AT&T. Currently running ShoStock 3.
Now the problem is that I can check the Status and it will never change from "Requested".
I tried switching to Miui. That one worked, but there was never an icon to show it. So I had to install GoSMS to see the delivered icon. BUT sending from GoSMS would also stay at "Pending". So I had to send by the stock app, then check if it was delivered in GoSMS. I also tried installing ChompSMS, but that one worked least of all. Didn't show any as "Delivered", even the ones sent from the stock messenger. And it also didn't get any when sent from it.
I then tried SuperNexus. It's fairly left alone...so it should work. Or so I thought. Again, the stock messenger stayed at "Requested" and never changed from pending.
And now I'm back to ShoStock. Possibly hoping that it just needed a reinstall, but no dice. Still doesn't change. Haven't checked if other apps show it as delivered, but so far, texts sent from the stock messenger stay at "Requested".
Hope this whole story didn't get too complicated.
It has never worked for me on this phone or on my cappy. I think it might have to do with the network or the other person's phone not sending the confirmation. I'm pretty sure there's a setting (maybe on iOS) that allows the phone to not send confirmation.

Can't be the network if switching to Miui helped, and I tried all of it by texting the same person. So they definitely are sending the confirmations. Just seems to have a problem actually receiving the confirmation.
You all realize who's fault this is right. It's that dammed Grinch. He wasn't content stealing Christmas and now he's got to steal our delivery reports? !
After installing the new beastmode kernel unsuccessfully and installing the crpalmers kernel that I was successfully running, my phone stopped being able to receive or make calls or send texts. However, I was still able to receive texts. I was running superhatka 2.1 and tried installing my backup to fix the issue, but the issue is still here. I tried installing the new superhatka 3.0.3. But the issue is still here, no calls or texts and texts report error code : 65535. FYI my data still works as well as the voicemail notification but I can't make the call to check the voicemail. I've searched the internet's for help and only found a couple similar problems, but no solutions. Tomorrow I'll take it into Verizon for a new SIM to try that (seems like the Verizon peopel are always more clueless than I am though haha). Anyone else having this problem? Or anyone have ideas for a fix?
There are similar issues like this all over this forum that I have read. One solution one person did was install the stock kernel and install a clean rom and his calling was fixed. Never heard the texting issue but I would try this before a replacement sim. Flash a clean rom and the stock kernel and see how it goes. Be sure to report back to us to see if this works out for you.

Thanks for a quick response! I did see a few similar issues, but none that were receiving texts I think. Anyways, I just clean flashed the new superhatka 3.0.3 which now has the ota kernel which is the new stock I think so I think I have basically flashed stock kernels since I can't flash the pre ota stock kernel without reverting to an older baseband right?
Also the dialer isn't force closing. I just tried to make a call and it Said something like "call origination failed due to immediate signal loss." I looked this up and saw found that people with this issue had towers down in their area, but I have been using another phone without issue so I don't believe that's the case. My mobile internet works fine unlike others with the same signal loss message

Took it into verizon and it took them about a half hour and 2nd level tech support to refresh all service connections with the phone on their end. Problem fixed now
Yeah that happened to me when I ran a samsung continuum as my daily phone I flashed a new leak and my data was gone they had to get me to level 2 support and refresh to get my data. I'm glad that was all they had to do and you didn't need to get a replacement. Glad to hear your back up!

i have noticed and tested that the verizon note 2 upon receiving a message from a samsung device like a stock note 2 or stock sgs3 that i do not receive their messages in the group thread. my dad is the stock note 2 and my moms is the sgs3 my wife has a stock bionic. i have sat with all the phones and tested it myself.
my wifes phone receives group messages from them just fine but i do not. so i was curious if it was just aosp and i knew a guy my dad works with that as aosp running on a sgs2 and he receives my dads messages just fine in group texting.
so that leaves it to be this phone on aosp causing the issue it has happened in cm, aokp, carbon rom so that did not differentiate either. i stay on 3g 100% of the time. and i have tested with both gosms and handcent (whith the group messaging option check on both)
and i also should note it is just other samsung phones group messages that have given me this problem thus far. iphone and motorola are the only ones i know that my phone can receive in the group thread
i was just curious if anyone else had this problem also
edit: now on 4g and problem still occurs.
You sure LTE is enabled in settings?
Aosp messaging isn't perfect iirc. There are issues with group and vzw.

Im on a Galaxy Nexus on verizon running carbon rom and have noticed I was having the same MMS/group messaging issues. Mine seemed to be from iPhones and I would get the message and get a notification. When I then went to the thread/list, there was no message and it was gone. I THOUGHT maybe it had to do with updating to the latest radio?? If I flashed another rom sometimes later a random MMS/group message gets pushed through (sometimes from days before). I know someone on a S3 with he same issue. All my group messages are from verizon iphones except 1 verizon s3 that has never been an issue. Ive tried turning off wifi too but doesnt seem to be the issue. Right now i have auto retrieve off, but id never know if it was a message i wouldnt have received.

Also running Carbon, HTC One on Verizon (m7vzw).
I also have the issue of a notification appearing and my being unable to read it. It doesn't show up in my messages list.
anyone found a solution yet? I'm going to try downloading the sense 5 messenger apk, because it worked for me with a previous rom.
