What is the game called?Nver heard anything like this.
Try deleting Superuser or SuperSU.

It's called Eternity Warriors 2.For many years it was just a game where you fight monsters through dungeons, "leveling up" and making armor. You could play same maps with a friend online also. Now they've put PvP mode after many years and included tournament every few days.I was working for my 70 lvl for a year and unlike some people that used trick with titanium backup or icloud to restore data when they failed to upgrade their gear I didnt use this cheap trick and was upgrading it fair way.Now when I want to check my skills(that are really good) I can't because they dont allow players with rooted devices to take place in tournament. I bet it's a cheat protection but for sure its not working because still I see everyone complaining about some guy with impossible damage in this game, killing with one hit etc.

Please can someone tell me how to unroot the device on cm7 and then root it back if needed without yellow triangle?(Ofc I want to stay on cm7 all the time). help plox :

Removing the su binary will un root your device, but some games will check for the presence of SuperSu or Superuser app whichever you are using, also try the root hiding app available in the market.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app

I'll try this method and tell how this worked.By deleting binary you mean su file in /system/xbin folder right? Can I just move it to my sd card so I can move it back in case I would need a root without flashing any packages? Its a bit awkward because if I delete root permission how can I use file manager root option to move it back again to system/xbin . Damn it seems like one way ticket .any clues?

Before I ROM it

I want to back-up some things--mainly the wife's angry birds stats. Trouble is that every post I read talks about loading things using the market after the tablet is ROMmed.
I've tried putting superuser on manually but it doesn't seem to recognize root explorer. All this after following the root instructions found here.
Angrybirds backup, superuser ... is not available in the gtab market (hadango) found on the device when stock. AppBrain doesn't seem to have any way to get the appbrain app onto the tablet.
I need advice on how to get apps on the tablet or to get superuser to recognize root explorer, or perhaps just how to get angrybirds backed up.
I use titanium backup or mybackup root!

Respectfully, what you use isn't the question really. If I can't get superuser to work with it then I'm still stuck.
So to restate here, I need a way to get these apps onto the tab before its rommed, or to make superuser to work.
honestly, I thought my wife would freak when I lost all of her angry birds saves, but she said it was "fun" to have to do it all again.
For superuser:
Install ES File Explorer from market
Use ES to install Z4root from xda
Run Z4root to root tab
Test root using Root Explorer
For backup:
Install Titanium
Perform backup of User Apps
Flash ROM
Install Titanium
Restore User Apps backups

You can trust the link. Lots of good info there.
If you are on a stock rom, you are not rooted (unless have you used something like Z4 to root it). All custom roms are already rooted for you. Anytime you nvflash back to stock you will not be rooted.

Well I remember looking for an answer to root and finding several places saying that I would have root after following those instructions. I guess I let my experience with rooting got in the way of understanding. That or nobody thought to mention that you don't need root to load a new recovery image or a ROM.
z4root it is. Thank you for your time and attention to my small problem.

No problem. It's all a learning experience. I knew absolutely nothing about android 3 months ago. When installing signed zips (which is what you install via recovery or cwm, the install scripts set permissions to perform the installations. Nvflash, also has root access. It' only you the user that doesn't have it when android boots on the stock rom.
Android is a big learning experience. There are no manuals and the only place this all exists is either in a post somewhere or in our minds. What 'goodintentions' did by creating the dummies site was try to make it as much a one stop shop as possible for new (and old) users to get the most out of their gTabs, but, there is just so much and each rom has different nuances that it's not possible to put everything there. Especially since he alone is footing the bill to keep the site going.
You also have to remember that not everyone is an expert and we all benefit by putting our collective minds together and helping each other. What one person doesn't remember another user may & hopefully help out. Just as hopefully you can do the same to someone else with your experieces.
Anyway, didn't mean to preach...time to get off the soapbox. Hopefully you can now do what you set out to do & if you need more info, feel free to post again.

Yea, well so much for z4root. It does do a good job of restarting the tab though.

Are you saying it didn't work? I used it on my gTab & Cruz Reader without problems. It's really simple. Install, single butten press & it will reboot. Where did you download from? How do you know it didn't work? After install/button press/reboot, open Terminal Emulator, type su & return. Does it respond with a # prompt...if so you have root access.

[Q] About rooting asus prime

Look, I know that some of these questions may have been already answered , but others probably not. I'm not a lazy one... I've looked up on the internet already but some of them are kinda too specific.
I've never rooted a phone or a tablet before and this is my first android device.
I know that rooting can be dangerous, but i wanted to use the transformer prime to take handwritten notes using adonit jot stylus. As far as I know, in order to be able to properly write with it, you need to use this app: touchscreentune
Unfortunedly, the app requires root access. Note that I tried by myself to write with the adonit in my transformer and the results were not good.
So it looks like I need to root, but i dont need any custom roms, etc..Just the minimum enought to get that app working. I heard that there is a few clicks tool to do this easily.
I'm not experienced when it comes to mobile devices. On the other hand, i'm a computer science/engineering student and i'm at least "experienced" in what comes to computers .
So you know my problem and you know my background as a computer/tablet user. Now help me, please:
1. In a scale from 1 to 100, how risky do you think it is rooting for me?
2. If I root my tablet it voids warranty. If i unroot it, is there any traces left? i.e Will i be able to use the warranty after a root-unroot? (What do think is the probability of loosing warranty after root and unroot?)
3. Does the tool (viperMOD ?) work with the most recent android and firmware versions (I think yes, but just to make sure)
4.Do you think my reasons to root are legit and do you advice me to root?
5.Can you point me an updated tutorial (I've seen many tutorials but I don't know if they are updated) on rooting the prime?
6.If i change the touch screen setting and then unroot, will it keep the settings?
I know that they are a lot of questions, so if you only know the answer to some of them, please reply... I will appreciate it a lot.
Well, thanks, and btw hi xda developers forum and sorry for my english.
And I want root my prime! But I'm noob and I'm afraid to do this. I need root prime for CPU Clock to 1.6ghz and i need root for apps! Help
1. 1.... not a big deal...root it.
2. Probably will if you send it in with it rooted. You can unroot with Viper.
3. viper works with all of them.
4. I advice you to root, theres plenty of apps that require it and you'll feel cool.
5. Use vipermod. best easy root there is. (if you installed asussync, make sure you kill it on your comp)
6. probably not as it asks everytime you unlock screen for permission
Why root:
1. Change bootanimation
2. you'll be ready when roms and kernels are released
3. you'll be able to install a recovery, so you'll have more control of your device, so if anything EVER happens you can make a backup and restore it
4. You can overlock to 1.5ghz or 1.6ghz (stock is 1.3ghz)
5. Very coop apps like Ram Manager or Task Control need root
6. You can install Ubuntu/Backtrack and actually use Ubuntu (currently only chroot)
7. You can install mods like change the icons ect. (not adviseable until we get a recovery)
8. If you ever wanted to sell your prime, the fact that its rooted (or hacked) it would be more valuable)
9. so many more...
10. so many more more
BTW, if you want to return it, and you want to unroot it, you can. Just make sure every unroot it the SuperApp is not there. If it still is, theres plenty of tutorials to do it. you'll need adb though. (learn adb, simple commands to control your phone from the pc)
you can always just wait till roms come out. you'll be more enticed to do it then.
With the viper unroot the superuser app remains there?
I have slastop instaled in my computer. Ill make sure it isnt open when i root.
Im not interested in roms. But being able to run ubuntu would be cool. But it would be much better if it was native.
One thing im wondering is if the tablet has a hardware problem and i cant turn it on, then i wouldnt be able to unroot, would i?
ive never tried it but it should remain there.
not splashtop im talking about the AsusSync.
Im sure native will be available once the unlocker tool is released...any second.... (announced by february)
chances are nothing will happen like that, unless you start to edit stuff
hasnt happened to me, and i know it has to someone that edit their build.prop

Old Versions .... ???

Is there any site or source on the web that provides downloads of old versions of Android Market apps? This would be for apps that are now updated or no longer available on the Market? I am looking for a site similar to "OldVersion.com" which has some old/classic PC software (but this would be something for android apps instead)?
Thanks if anyone knows of a source or sites.
CustomShortcut gone?
The app that I am looking for in the above post was a free one called CustomShortcut APK. I now have it on one of my two phones (the other phone had it but was lost and replaced). I have tried looking for a developer page for this app but no luck as everything seems to point back to android market as the source link for download.
Does anyone know of a way or source for me to get this APK back on my other phone? Is there a way to copy it from one phone to the other? I am assuming that it was removed from the market because it may not be compatible with ICS but I am not running ICS. The application was made by appli.club.
Are you rooted? If so use root explorer to look for the .apk in the /system/app folder and copy or email it to the other phone and install it.

No sadly I am not rooted. Is that how this could be done? I have an HTC phone (Sensation) and I like my "sense" gui. Don't want to wipe it out by rooting (that is what would happen, right?) If access to the apk is possible with rooting, then I guess my question would be, does anyone else here have CustomCut on their rooted phone? (Or possibly know of any website that would have those apk's available for download). I would be willing to pay if someone would take the time to send me a replacement copy.
just google for any app you want like this:
"title" "versionnumber" "apk" "download"
for example:
android market 2.9 apk download

Rooting will not wipe out your phone or change it other than giving you super user privileges. That way you will have access to get to the system apps folder.
I notice apktop keeps old versions around. But part of the reason I like Titanium backup is because I have a fail safe if a new update to an app is bad, as I can just restore from the last backup the older version.

Well I am not really too concerned about it wiping out my phone, but I thought I had read many posts here talking about once you root your phone the native skin from the manufacturer is eliminated (for HTC that would be the "Sense" user interface). Can you please confirm? Is this not true? HTC Sense will remain exactly the same after rooting my phone?
The other thing that has made me cautious is that my phone runs perfectly now and I see so many threads on the xda boards here and over at various android forums that start off with "My ____ app is not working right since I rooted...." Just a little daunting for a newbie like myself.

Thanks very much for the site suggestion. I have been trying to search for the CustomShortcut APK over there but no luck ...so far (the site search is not that easy to use). I have even tried to seach the site externally using google but, unfortunately, still no luck.
Wait for someone else to confirm on the htc, but nothing changed on my droidx. I just had superuser privs. All of the "this app quit working" is when people flash custom roms. You don't do that when you just root. But you have to be rooted in order to do things like that. Lol.
Rooting gives you the power to do that if you want to.
When I rooted my droidx, I did it just so I could have the power to do other things if I wanted. I am still on factory rom. But I am able to get to parts of the phone that are off limits if I wasnt rooted. I made it where I could tether, later I got rid of bloatware, etc.

Thanks once again for the reply. Now that you mention it, I remember reading the terminology "flashed" rom and thought they were similar or the same thing as rooting. One other question, once a phone is in a rooted state, if I was to go in and copy the APK for my replacement phone and put it on there could I then "unroot" lol ...sorry if this is not a word... so that my phone was no longer open? I had read somewhere (perhaps I heard it on a TWIT or Android podcast) that when your phone is in root state that anyone (ie: potentially bad software) has easier access to your phone's vunerable areas.

yes you can unroot. As for easy access after you are rooted to vulnerable areas, they can only get access if you let them. If an app wants super user privileges, you will get a pop up from su(the super user apk) telling you that some app is wanting privileges. You can grant or deny access. The only things on my phone that have ever given me a pop up are things that i downloaded and know need su access. Wifi tether, root explorer, adfree, etc.
I have found a site that keeps older version of an android app. It's called Android Drawer.
Hope it helps

[Q] What does "rooting" mean to an android from a linux users perspective?

Folks,
I just got a Galaxy Note 1717 the other day and i'm still learning. I'll probably root it once ICS comes out for it on AT&T, but i'm still a bit confused about what that *means*. The threads i've read on it here and there seem to make some assumptions that as a linux user i'm not making properly.
When you root an android phone what actually happens?
If i root an android phone does that mean:
a) I've allowed acess to the root user by either changing the sudo rules or setting home to /root instead of /bin/false or /bin/nologin?
b) when i'm using the phone i'm doing so as the root user instead of [whatver user i am when it's not rooted. I don't know what name user 1000 has becuase i can't find the passwd file and probably wouldn't have the rights to it even if i could]
or is it some other thing that's actually happening when you root a phone?
As a Gentoo linux user i find this a bit confusing, even if it is a linux/gnu based system.
A) would mean that various programs are able to acces the root user when they need to.
b) would mean that i'm essencially logged in as root all the time, which in the linux word is a THOU-SHALT-NOT.
Thanks,
Bearcat
From a practical point of view, when you root, you are able to give some apps superuser permissions.
Now this means
Apps like Titanium backup can remove vendor installed apps, which is otherwise not possible.
Phone locator kind of apps can turn on and turn off GPS radio. You do not have to manually enable it.
From a linux users perspective, you can fire up terminal and do a rm -rf / . But do not do that!
Thanks.
So, to clarify: if i root my Note and then fire up mxplayer and watch a movie ,then fire up pageonce to look at my bank accounts, does that mean that i've just done both of those things as the root user?
Here's a more technical explanation of how root works that answers some of your questions:
http://cjix.info/blog/misc/how-rooting-works-a-technical-explanation-of-the-android-rooting-process/
Quick answer to your question - no. things are only run as a su if they need to, or rather, if the app has some functions that need it. Eg - titaniums access to /system needs root access, so the app fires up with su permissions. Only apps that need root access get it, and you have to allow the app the access.

Thanks for the link jr67, i'l read that over.
New Ion? thanks for the clarification. I understand it more now, and think i'll root my phone after ICS comes out for AT&T on the note.
Its very worth it, if even only for titanium. First thing you should do is backup everything.
Ooh and the paid version is the single most worth it app ever. Many apps ive paid for and havent touched really, TB's paid differences you use every time.
Edit - titanium, root explorer and wifi kill are the only apps I have that use root access. Just fyi

Wow! Titanum back up looks fantastic! Granted, i don't know what all the terms mean (dalvik? Isn't that a Dr. Who thing? :") ). I grabbed ES File explorer but Root Explorer looks even better.
Side question: Is there any such thing as updating a rom once i have one installed, or do i have to backup, re-flash and restore with each update that comes out for a particular rom?
Android is programmed in Java. since Java cannot be run, but needs a virtual machine, we use the dalvik vm. When you install cwm, you will have the option to clear it, and you probably should, depending.
As for updates, it all depends on what the dev tells you to do. Example: cm9 nightlies only require cache and dalvik wipes, however the roms I run usually require a full wipe. It can suck, but there are ways to make it better.
Look into the advanced restore function of cwm. I've never used it, but I know done swear by it
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA
Thanks. I don't know what cwm is (at least anything more than it's some sort of rom). I'l look it up.
It replaces the stock recovery, and allows the user to interact with it. i think its hosted at clockworkmod.com as well

The provided instructions only provide a "TEMP" root. but hey, we are one step closer now.
When you reboot your ZTE Savvy you will lose root.
At least I can get rid of some bloatware.
Savvy temp root is a joke. Its a start but in to way did it help me. I can't get any of the bloat removed I maybe doing something wrong.
I lose root before reboot. Lasts about five minutes maybe longer. If I can't have full root to get fancy ROMs that is cool but would so live to remove some of the trash they install on here. Any help would be awesome.
A list of some of the apps that I can remove and how to do so would be super. I've tried es file to remove from system app folder won't allow me. Also tried titanium backup.
Titanium says it deleted but it is all still in app drawer just force closes the app I tried to deleted if I try to open it.
Then i lose root before I reboot. Once I reboot all the apps that I deleted come right back fully working. I'm stumped and hate the junk they put on here my phone says system memory is full and I have downloaded like 5 apps the rest is there trash.

There are not even any roms available. not even clockwork mod recovery to install the roms. if you install an incompatible rom its likely it will brick your Savvy. Though I would like to remove the old zte launcher for the digital cookies stock jellybean launcher. it is much faster and makes the whole system faster considering this is a low end spec'd phone.
btw i replied to your message.
