App that locks turning off phone - Windows Phone 8 Apps and Games

Anybody knows about an app that can do the job? Made a search and found wavesecure, but old and not compatible with latest wp.
Cheers

Sorry, can you be more precise about what you mean? If you're looking for an app which prevents the phone from being turned off; that's not possible. If you're looking for one that prevents the screen from turning off (phone entering standby mode), that's easy but the app has to keep running in the foreground to do it, so it just wastes battery. If you're looking for an app to allow you to disable the screen lock timeout, that is actually possible although it requires high privileges (interop-unlock).

Googling for "wavesecure" only brought me to the McAffee website. It's an app to remotely lock and wipe your phone. If that's what you're looking for, look no further. Windows Phone has this feature built in, just log in to https://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/my and select to lock, ring or erase your phone if you lost it or it got stolen.

Sorry, maybe i was not clear. Looking for an app that prevents the phone to be turned off. Say you want to turn off the phone and to proceed you need to insert a pin number. I am looking for such kind of app just to have some more time in case the phone is stolen. Of course somebody can even take off the sim without turning off the phone......but might be not so "instinctive" as turning it off.

... or remove the battery, or hold the power button for ten seconds to hard-shutdown, or...
I mean, I'd help you if I knew of something, but it's pretty pointless.

yeah... at the end seems to be quite useless....
Thanx guys for answers.

Screen timeout issue

Hi,
I have looked with the search, but nothing even close comes up....
(prove me wrong, I'll be happy to find the solution)
Basically, my lock screen and my today screens have stopped shutting down after the preset time?
I have tried changing the time but nothing, I sit watching the screen like some sort of muppet, mentally counting down a minute or 30 seconds to see if it will shut down but nothing.
Not a problem over the bank holiday weekend as the phone also gets a decent rest, but come Tuesday when all hell lets loose I will need all the battery I can have, and a screen that stays on 24/7 isn't going to help!
Ta.
try phone reboot! i had that problem when i had an application running in background which did not allow auto-screen-off

What was the application? Not had the issue as yet but if it happens it would be nice to know what to look out for.

Hi,
I know i should RTFM , but how do you reboot? and it this like like a hard reset/ soft reste for a Winmo phone? And will it delete anything?
Sorry to be a noobie.
i just meant to shutdown the phone and then turn it on ;-)
if you have the problem resulting of a background app which deactivates screen-off, this will solve it

[Q] Broken screen lock

Hi, A bit of a Noob and I've broken it some how! I've changed a setting to do with owner info and the lock screen because when the screen locks I move the slider and it sticks in whichever direction and doesn't unlock phone. The button doesn't freeze at all though and occasionally I see "owner information" on the titlebar. The only way I can access home screen etc is by soft resetting, hitting start as soon as it appears and then flicking slider........ I did see a setting on here to display owner info on lock screen somewhere and I think this is what I've changed but I can't find it now. Please help...
This strang thing happend to me to today. For now i havent found the cause nor a sollution. For now I just pull the battery out and reboot it .. Then it works well for a few times but when i lay it to rest and try to unlock it... it wont work again.

Even after pulling battery mine is still the same. I'm sure it's my fault but I can't find the post on here which I read. I'm sure it was a tweak to show owner info on boot up and when flicking off screen lock and I thought, "lets see what that looks like" Wish I hadn't now! It looks like I'm going for a hard reset if I can't find a solution, unfortunately my next task was to put a backup package on it! D'oh!!!
It happened to me a week ago... It depends on the personal information flag. I solved in this way: 1 reset the phone so you can access the settings of the phone, 2 unset "show personal info on start" flag (or something like this) now it should work. Please if someone knows how to show the personal info avoiding this bug let us know....

It worked!!! Thank you very much. I've made so many adjustments lately I just couldn't remember. I'm now gonna back it up!!
For future reference, if you get stuck at the lock screen but your phone does start up properly, you can use SOTI Pocket controller to change pretty much anything on your phone through USB.
happened to me too, heres a funny story.
i leave my phone on my desk thinking it was locked (i did press the hang up botton and the screen turned off) suddenly i can hear the tone as its calling someone, it rings 4-5 times untill i grab it and pull it out of the sleeve, it was the girl i went out with a day earlier, now she thinks im a psycho.
thanks HTC!!!
Ok the problem could be your Twitter.com setings if you use Twitter.
Thanks to Sir Sternas of Artemis ROMS, just found it out. After disabling Twitter the problem didnt occured anymore.
Now its just to find out if the webservice or the twitterclient causes the problem.

[Q] Need help with voice dialing so I can legally use my phone driving.

I need a way to be able to voice dial at any time even with the phone locked or with some other app the Voice Talk open via Bluetooth, I know this is possible on Android since my old Motorola Milestone could do it and would be legal under the new laws.
My province is now getting distracted driving laws which will make using my phone illegal with how many steps it takes currently.
I refuse to give up locking my phone since I have private info on it but I need to be able to make calls by pressing the button on my Bluetooth even with the phone locked since it could even be in my jeans pocket with no way to get at it when sitting.
Currently on my GS2 I have to unlock the phone then double click the home button to bring up voice dialing or even open the voice talk app if I am in a different app.
Compared to my Milestone where I never touched it and at any time even pattern locked or in a different app I could just press the button on my Bluetooth and say "call jane" or something and it always worked.
How can I get this back? Considering the laws are coming into effect next month for me.
I would like to keep the stock Samsung voice for most time but would be willing to have a second one that works even if the phone is locked.
I also have people that want this phone but willn't buy it until I get this fixed.
Use Tasker to disable the lock pattern when connected to a bluetooth device - therefore when you disconnect from your car bluetooth, your lock pattern will re-activate.
Problem solved!
OK I have that and think I am close to setting it up but can't totally figure it out how to disable the lock screen.
All I have figured out is a profile that runs if a mic headset is connected but when I try to figure out the task it does I get stuck.
I have never used Tasker before.
This is suddenly going to be to expensive since I found out the SGS2 requires extra work to disable the pattern lock which is a extra $10 plugin and I am not even sure if I want to pay for Tasker itself after the 7 day trial.
I might try and find out how it was done on my old phone when locked.
For others that may want to kn ow here is the thread for this on a GS2

Nope, you don't need the plugin - there's a keyguard action that you would disable, which also disables the lockscreen.
I'm trying to set this up myself, but for some stupid reason, it's not responding when I press my bluetooth button at all...
Fricken Vlingo - you suck!

Are you sure that would work on our Samsung phones since they modified the locking system to use the /efs partition?
If you do get it working make sure to tell me how.

[Q]Alarm application turns on smartphone?

I am noob in smartphones.
I installed GingerDX in XPERIA X8 ;-)
I can not find an alarm application that turns on the mobile!!
For years i' ve set the alarm, turn off the phone and went to bed.
In the morning the phone turned on and alarmed.
Is there any application that can do that?
Thanks in advanced.
Smartphones are not able to do that because their system (in this case "Android") is like a real system of a computer. I don't think computers do that, do they? There is nothing that can make your phone boot up to ring the alarm.
Instead of shutting down your phone, why don't you turn on airplane mode instead? It's almost like turning off the phone.
That's bad. I hope somewhere in the future this change. And, by the way, there is any app that can auto turn off the app?

Crap!
Well your idea for airplane mode is not bad, although is not the same with the off-situation.
Thanks anyway.

Actually they do that, just a little yes in the BIOS and it works well, about an Android phone doing that, i think its possible, haven't had the need for it yet, but just for testing purposes will see few things and report back

Computers can do this so easy!
Really? They can? Oh, then I'm sorry about the misinformation, but still, Android can't boot to ring the alarm.
My smartphone wakes up automatically!
I'am apologize to bring this old topic on top, but I've also search on the internet which android smartphone would wake up when completly off for an alarm and there is not much information, so i wanted to put my experiences.
Because I didn't find any Information about that on the Internet, i've try myself in a Shop with demo phone. Results, the HTC One series and ALCATEL One Touch Series DOES wake up when turned off. Samsung phones had bad on that point. Of course i didn't try every smartphones...
I've bought an ALCATEL One Touch Mini 6012X... Alarm wake up the phone (maybe into a special mode just for alarm but looks very similar). There is also an option to turn off and turn ON the phone every day at a specific time.
So i hope, poeple would understand that smartphone could automatically wake up...
Bye

Black Screen - Need to unlock phone - Stock

My phone fell into water for less than a second. After drying it out, the screen worked for a couple of days, after which time it would no longer turn on. The capacitive buttons light, but not the display. I restarted it (power and volume down), but I can't unlock it now since the screen isn't working. I have a fingerprint stored, but can't use it after a restart without my unlock code. I have since bought an S7 Edge, so the S6 is no longer connected to the network. In addition, it appears that I had WiFi off as Find My Mobile can't locate it.
I really want to get my data off the phone, specifically pictures/videos, etc... I've tried to connect via adb, but I can't seem to get the device to show up. I tried Vysor, but it can't see it either. Kies sees it, and my Windows PC also sees it (can't access the filesystem unless it's unlocked). The S6 doesn't support HDMI/MHL (thanks Samsung), so I can't send the output to a TV.
Any help would really be appreciated. I don't want to dump $150 for a new screen unless I have no other choice to retrieve my data.
I have the exact same issue and looking for an answer as well.
Wondershare could help you guys. Not sure if it needs confirmation on the phone, but it seems to have a seperate mode for broken displays. I hope it works. Which kind of information do you need most? Like pictures, or contacts,...? Because depending on your need, we might be able to find another solution for you.

Might work as well.

Thanks N00BY0815. I'll take a look at the info you provided and report back.
Ideally, I'd like to get my pictures, videos, and at least some other data (my Temple Run save, etc...). Most of my contacts were stored in my Google account, but odlly some weren't stored (I could swear that I selected my gmail account each time I added a contact, but I guess not).
Thanks

I tried to turn the phone off (volume down and power button while plugged in to the charger). I've done it before and it has appeared to turn off. This time, however, the screen lit up slightly green and the LED is now pulling blue as if it were starting up. Now I can't seem to do anything with it. It won't turn off.
Any ideas?
