Hi guys. I am running Viper rom 2.1. I notice that there is now a version 2.2. On the Viper thread there's two links, one is viper 2.1-2.2 OTA .zip and the other is 2.2-2.1 OTA.zip.
How do the OTA zips work? I notice that the Viper 2.1 rom is 600mb while the OTA are much smaller in size, so I know they're not the actual main rom. Which one do I flash to get from 2.1 to 2.2?
Thanks.

Hey guys, I'm new here and am a novice with rooting. I rooted my phone and installed the 2.1 rom that looked like the original. I really don't like the look of the "vanilla" or "darkened" modified roms.
My question is if there's a 2.2 rom designed like my 2.1 stock looking rom. I don't remember the exact rom I installed, but if you guys need it for reference I can try to find it again.
Thanks

There are basicly four 2.2 roms to choose from for the Eris. You would need to try them for your self. I've tried all of them myself. None of them look like 2.1. If you like your 2.1 rom, why don't you simply apply another theme to it.
If by "stock like" you mean 2.2 with HTC Sense then no there are no 2.2 roms like that. A vanilla rom would be the closest to "stock like" as you can get.
Hello, I will be getting an Aria soon and was wanting to put the froyo rom on it. My question is, is it necessary to update the kernel and the radio or should the rom work fine without doing those?

The ROM includes those both so you should have no problem by just flashing a new ROM. I personally recommend you go for the FR008 Deodexed ROM.
Thanks, that is the ROM I am going to use.
I used Sense UI for about 6 months before I got fed up with it. I have CyanogenMod 6.1.1 Liberty on my Aria with the Gingerbread theme and LauncherPro as my default launcher. Love it. So much quicker, customizable, and efficient. Battery life has improved tremendously since switching to all this.
I like the look of HTC Sense
I've rooted a couple phones and used a few ROMS. I'm having trouble with my DX2 installing Eclipse barebones. It gets hung up with installing the .zip in recovery with trying to install and it wont install. I eventually pull battery and restart. I'm currently running 2.3.4 that I spf'ed and rooted installed CWM and bootstrap. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I would highly recommend the real eclipse versions. If you are wanting to stay on 2.3.4 eclipse 1.3 version from nitro is very stable. If you want to go to 2.3.5 version 2.03 is also very good and stable. No issues on Nitro's version. Also you can get the most current updates on eclipserom.com
The version Ace is playing with barebones is not really a rom it is a nanodroid of his own doing on top of Nitro's eclipse rom.
Hey all,
In a few days I'll be unlocking, then installing the BAMF ICS Sense 4.0 ROM due to the official sense 3.6 being ass-ugly. I'd like to stay on the old firmware, so which PH98IMG(s) do I flash? Do I just do the Sense4IMG, or that one plus the "oldfirmwareppl" patch? There are also old and new firmware IMGs under the main PH98IMG directory on the download site, that the BAMF site links to.
Thanks for any help
Due to some weird reasons i need a completely stock rooted rom, just like Santod's current ICS rom here, but GB. I havent been able to find one with a working link. Any help would be great. The next best thing would be a GB rom with the original sense and phone settings.
2.11.605.19 stock rooted rom
