Hey all I'm new to this forums and this phone too but lately I'd been thinking about flashing the full sense 4+ (with all animations) but I own HTC deisre x Dual SIM and I'm confused that dose the dual sim version of desire x will suport the rom and the recovery? Please help me asap.

No you can't have it, there are some chinese forums with roms and rooting methods. I think google is your best friend

It can be done fairly easily, but you will definitely require a custom recovery for your device and then port the roms from this phone with some minor changes. But the person doing that must have ur phone too.

Try to understand its not at all easy to port Rom , im a noob all I know is too flash roms and root devices that's it

I have experience in developing for dual sim and single sim variants of a single phone so I can assure you that porting is very much possible. It is easy to port it but your dual sim capabilities will be gone as only single sim will work.
EDIT: No one should help a person that speaks to a dev, or anyone else, like this. Reported.

Hey guys, while surfing the web I got my eyes on this thread was shocked to read that my dual sim desire x supports no rom, I wanted sense with animations and different lockscreens
All this time I was assuming that I can simply flash sense Roms on dual sim modal with everything would work fine but I'm now feeling so bad that I bought this device for sense experience which I can't even get

It requires atleast the basic knowledge of android... or u can try porting roms from another dual sim phone
The first thing that DX Dual SIM users need is a Custom Recovery then only can proceed with other thing. As he only wants to have Sense Lockscreen with animation that is pretty easy to do but first must have a custom recovery, this is the hard part unless maybe @neXus PRIME can help

Using any file manager, go to "/proc/emmc" copy this file. Paste here in this thread.
Then give me your boot.img...... you can do that using a guide. Search for "how to dump boot on sd card" or something similar. Paste that "boot.img" here as well.
I'll cook you a recovery and you can test it. If you give it after weekend, i wont be able to work, so do this before Friday.

Yes, it still stands, but i found out that CM10.1 is currently impossible to make, so you can try with MIUI V5.

so how did you make the nexus rom for it?
The issue is that I do not own the phone, but I am looking at porting CM to MTK6589.
MIUI porting is a bit different, it would not involve kernel compiling per se I believe (CM either, but I would like to).
To give it a go, I would need info from here:

So your ROM version, partition info etc.
When I manage to port to a device I own, I can give it a go.

It's not really Nexus ROM, it's just stock ROM modified to look like stock Android.

i compiled my first recovery based on cm 10.1 for Thl W8.
I have no easy way to push the image to the phone to test.
If it works, I can start to create a recovery for this phone based on sources.
I would need that info I requested.
Are you able to post the build.prop file and the partition dump?
Look at the page with instructions I posted earlier.
Meantime I look for an easy way to flash that recovery, somehow sp flashtool does not read the scatter file created by mtkdroidtools .

- post identification stuff of the device, like screen resolution, memory and recovery.fstab (or the recovery image)
- in general take a look at the link I posted before and read it, so you know what info is needed :

The reason I ask is because there are at leat 2 different versions, 1 had 960x480 screen and 1/4gb ram/rom, the other 1280x720 and 2/8.
They obviously at least have different partitions and displays and perhaps even other different hardware.
You can also post a full working ROM on dropbox or something.

Well I am partly motivated by your offer, but I enjoy Android and Linux hacking.
Let's hope those attempts will lead to something.
How about LewaOS? There are good porting guides for that.
I will try to look for MIUI or CM in the weekend.
Initial CM would miss dual sim support.
Maybe MIUI is easier, because some work has been done.
Well, I'll see.
Don't overestimate the complexity, if you have CM 6 and made it yourself, porting a rom is doable I suppose ?

we already discussed in a few threads on this one. But today I found out that there is a system dump of HTC Desire 601 right here on xda: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47693848&postcount=22
Maybe this will help us to port Sense 5 with 4.2.2. The only problem is, the resolution of Desire 601 is 960x450, so we need to resize the apps. But specs are similar to ours, so it may be possible. What would you say?

We would need a new ramdisk ramdisk for that, because the settings done in the ramdisk for CM kernel won't work in Sense.
What are the differents between Sense 5 4.1.2 and Sense 5 4.2.2 is there any differents at all or ?...

A solution to the resolution problem might be the Desire 500. With the same resolution as us Desire X.
On the www i read about news that the Desire 500 become a Update to Android 4.4.2 from HTC in the near future

Btw, as I don't have experience in ROM porting anyway and also not enough time to learn it (before summer at least), I started this thread just to inform you that there is a system dump we might be able to use, to do a little brainstorming and hopefully get some good developes involved in porting. So, is there anyone who can help us?

You could port the desire 601 version then mix the files with desire 500 dump from 4.1 to fix resizing bugs that's how ckp5 did it first I think

If you need a system dump from Desire 601 with 4.4.2, I can get it from a colleague on school owning this phone. That should work. As soon as he gets the OTA of course.

I dont understand? What software? I had no idea such a thing existed for cm. Are you using cookbook? I did look into that but think the dev stopped supporting it.

What version of at&t do you have? Id ask if you be willing to share it but i think your phone is different than mine--US AT&T
Have you tested this yourself? I only ask because in your other thread you said "99% chance it wont work"
Does that mean it probably wont work on at&t and it is working on your phone? Not a lot of info to go by here. Usually when i test im prepared for quite a few bugs/bootloops etc. But im confident it should boot up. Any more info would be appreciated.

I dont know but that MAY mean you need to update recovery. If you head to the twrp site and look for our device there might be one available. The md5 file happens to me all the time with other devices and it still flashes. However if it is a problem you can check a box to disable md5 checks.
If that doesnt work then it might be the rom. Hard to say because some people have trouble flashing things with twrp on htc phones then cwm will flash the same rom.

I downloaded the file and had a look inside the zip. It looks nothing like any twrp compatible install zip I have seen. I would be very cautious about even trying to flash it.

No. You really don't want to use any other custom recovery. Trying to do so might result in hard bricking it.
***it might be a good idea to close this thread until if/when there's a working ROM.

hi im looking to make a cm rom for my rooted e5533 phone,problem is i know nothing about programming if annyoune could help me its appriciated
I tried that too m8 ended up screwing boot, damaging Mother board. Luckily service changed Mother board for free. I am not gona try making roms again. We need developers Like @bigrammy

Sony are normally well supported when it comes to mods and roms etc but I must say I am very surprised by the lack of dev's for these phone's
ROM porting is not really my speciality but I am working on a project that hopefully will make the process a lot lot easier. :fingers-crossed:
I will require a lot more time on my part but I will be using the Xperia C4 as my test device now that I have it back from being on loan to a friend. :good:
As I said before I doubt any port will be anywhere near as good as the stock rom is so do not expect too much. :laugh:
Please dont ask for dates or when as I have no idea but please remember this is just a hobby of mine and I do have a family & day job that take up most of time.
How you rooted it? I want to root my e5533..

hello guys still do not get anything, I'm also looking for roms or some development for this phone would like a roms cleaner something more to the pure android I have if you want can leave contact to join the owners of this phone to see if we can get some development and we help each other say? :good:
This is a low end, low interest phone (and an oldish one too) so I think the search for a custom ROM is vane.
ROM are developed by people owning that phone. No dev owns one of this, so ther'll be no ROM.
I think the best we can do now is to debloat it in order to lighten the OS and make it work more efficiently.
I will go this path.

i made a TWRP recovery for the exact phone
Asus zenfone go x00bd zb500kg if you want DM me on twitter cuz the im new User on XDA
Check the below answer for the recovery D
and like any thread do it at your own .. the image has been tested many time with positive result and no bricks happend but be careful anyway

i'm sorry if i take too long to respond on twitter as i rarely hop there (can't blame me tho it's isnt the best place to be in anyway..)

my device is broken because bad battery so i'm not using it anymore, tho the recovery is 100% usable

There is NOT any custom ROMS for that particular device so please don't waste your time on looking for one and only debloat it
