I was rooting on ICS beacuse I wanted to flash a custom JB ROM. Everything just messed up. I flashed an incorrect kdz.. Magically my phone didn't brick but now everything is inverted (mirrored). I have flashed several Stock firmwares and the issue still remains.
Is any fix for this? Please help!!

Did you unlock your bootloader yet? There's a thread with the solution to the inverted touchscreen issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40121966&postcount=7
Inverted screen will stay but you can power on the screen and then off upon boot and it will disappear until next time you reboot. If you want to restore everything to normal and don't mind losing your unlocked bootloader you can flash the stock u-boot.img via fastboot. You'll have to google this forum for the file and instructions.

thanks, but how did you manage to do ''adb shell.... typing from terminal? I need root to do this steps.
Root with lelus method then you can fix screen. Can't do anything about it without root.

If your model is LG-P769, please refer to this thread after you have rooted.

You need to get rooted using Lelus method.

Part 1 Is only for people who has not unlocked bootloader Part 2 is for people who have unlocked bootloader and Part 3 Is For Everyone
Oh and Sorry for the cruddy tutorial will update it tomorrow its 3:24 am in Cali and i want to go to Sleep
Part 1
(Update) Well Its Official we have an unlocked bootloader on the P769 i attached a picture sorry its kinda blury i had to take it with my sisters ipod...
Ok well what you have to do dont worry its really easy
1) Download V20F kdz
2) Flash That kdz (dont worry about root well get that later....)
3) After it Boots Make sure you have signal to network (doesnt matter if it has service or not i havent paid mine yet and it unlocked)
4) Connect Phone To Computer and make sure you have USB Debugging on and then run the Following Command
"adb reboot oem-unlock"
after you run that command your phone should reboot i do not know why but there is no prompt like the p760 (if you want to confirm you have it unlocked do the following 1)turn off phone then hold volume up and connect usb from computer and you should get S/W update and at the top left Bootloader Status: Unlocked)
and there you have official unlocked
Part 2
ok now for those of you who did it the hard way and unlocked before i recommend you take this unlock but up to you first what you wan to do is
Make sure you have this installed "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119090" and setup
then download this
Lelus Fastboot Script : "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292828'
and then choose the one that says P769 ICS U and X Boot choose that then it will tell you do the battery thing then it will flash and now you have original X and U Boot Now you can flash the kdz and do the unlock make sure you do this first!!!
Part 3
Now to flash a recovery and flash root
Make sure you have it on your sd card there is different ones link are scattered so ill get them in a while
Install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292828 then start fastboot and flash a recovery image to your phone
then make sure you have the superuser zip on your sdcard then boot to recovery and flash the zip after you flash it now reboot and enjoy you have unlocked bootloader with root and cwm now just flash another rom and there Cheers

Can't we just use terminal emulator and type
"reboot oem-unlock"?
EDIT: Nvm it says action not permitted

I am a huge noob
Hey i have no idea what to do i am a huge noon at these things andi want to get my lg optimus l9 p769 rooted. What relly confused me is when you said i had to flash something and i thought you had to be rooted to do that. Please help.
I tried the ADB command and the device rebooted. When I went into software update mode it did not mention anything about the bootloader being unlocked. I'm going to try again in 30 minutes as I had just put in the SIM card prior to attempting to unlock. Not sure if it makes a difference but the SIM card does not have active service and I flashed the 20D KDZ before doing the OTA update to 20F.
EDIT: Waited 2 hours and tried to unlock again, no dice. I guess I'll wait for further instructions.
Nice find! I'll have to try this tonight.

I know this is a noob question, but where's the KDZ at? It isn't in cmahendra's repository and I really want to unlock my bootloader tonight. BTW, I'm not new. Well technically yes, but I've been lurking these forums since late January. So um, yeah. I need the KDZ and such. I'm already on P769F but I got it through OTA... I went into Terminal Emulator and I thought I had something, I went "su" and then "reboot oem-unlock" and it would unlock, but my phone didn't show the confirmation in S/W update mode. I'm using artas locked bootloader recovery if that means anything. Wait, actually I'm going to try something.. I might have just answered my plethora of questions. Sorry for the useless post xD
Thanks Carloswii5. When you get a chance, please give some more detail, and possibly links to the correct version of what we need to download\install. Great find, though!

I got the tmobile lg p769 on wind mobile v21b. I just did the reboot oem-unlock through terminal. Then powered off phone and plugged in sw upgrade. And says bootloader status unlocked. It was backwards because mines been unlocked for a while. But maybe u could use the v21b cwm backup and do the unlock. I stayed on the wind rom for move apps to sd is built in. I get the same 4g coverage from tmobile. Just changed the apns.config.xml with tmobiles v20f and set up apns manully. The same tweaks work on the wind version as the others. Oh theres a telepony.xml u need to replace as well. Just thought everyone should know how much of an asset wind 21b can be no matter what carrier u got.
Type su in terminal then press enter. Then type unlock command. It rebooted but I'm not near a PC to confirm (20f via cwm update).

It doesn't? Then I'm sorry but I know that there's a way to open the boot loader by flashing an P760 kdz then open bootloader then flash back but I think that made the screen mirror all the time.

No. You cannot flash custom rom on locked bootloader. And if you do it you may have to recover your phone by fastboot and offline flash.
Thanks for the reply I figured that out already lol but experiences help us to learn

Updates on this: )
So there are devs working on this for a custom Rom to use 2nd unit recovery and they are trying to port from devices like the matrix 2, a few things are different but has the same screen resolution. So I can't wait to see what they come up with.

Okay so I tried unlocking my bootloader for my p769 .. couldnt get it done, and I was stuck with the kdz that had the wonky mirrored screen.. so I ran a restore from a backup I found using cwm. And that is what im currently on. I am on v10b, and I keep getting notifications and popups to install v10d.. If I click restart & install, will this brick my phone? or will it actually work? Is there a way to just remove the popups and notifications for the updates ?
??? anyone?
To be safe I would flash a stock kdz with lg tool for your phone..look for the newest update for your phone and carrier kdz file..flash it..then it won't ask u to update..u can find tons of jellybean kdz files on these forums
That's just what I would do..I wouldn't risk it.

That's the reason why I don't try to without a professional's eyes and ears on teamviewer. :L
The lg tool u used already to put it on the wonky touchscreen kdz..
What is your carrier?
What android version was your phone when u bought it?
Its not dangerous lol..you might become dangerous thou if you lack patience or mental stability from trouble shooting ..
I've used offline flashing sucessfully over 60 times
