[Q] screen dimming on music player - HTC Droid DNA

when i use the stock HTC music player, while in a charging car dock, the screen still dims. i have it set to stay on while charging but it still dims without turning off completely. this is annoying because it makes it pretty much invisible with sunglasses on. anyone know how to fix this? there appears to be no settings for the music player itself that i can find

[Q] screen dims then shuts off while watching stream

I am having a problem, I get a tv stream from a site and no matter what I set the screen auto dim ( On or Off) it goes dim in a minute or 2 then screen shuts off . But if I watch a show on hulu it doesn't shut off the screen at all even with the auto dim feature on. Weird that it used to work before I updated to 3.0.4. You guys have any ideas?
Same happens even if i am charging the pad while watching the stream.

Hdmi output with screen off?

Is there a way or an app in which you can watch a video thru hdmi with the screen off?
I'm looking for a solution also. I thought my prime would be able to replace my media player but when the screen is always on it's terribly distracting, even if the background is black.
Screen off puts it to sleep. As far as I know there's no workaround.
But if you use dice player every video I've tried has used hardware decoding and gives you the black screen. Helps on battery as well as not being distracting. Swipe down to decrease brightness on the black screen even further. Doesn't affect you're actual brightness setting.
My tablet screen goes into a sleep mode after minute. but continues playing video. I also have it plugged in. I was using the crunchyroll app so I don't know if it will work for other apps. My best guess would be go into settings and click on display and adjust the time till the screen turns off. The last thing is you can just close the prime if you have the keyboard station or just flip it over so the screen is faced down.
I don't mind the screen on but would like if off to save on battery.

Screen dims in video playback

I when i record a video and play it back. As soon as i start play, the screen dims.
I just got my S3 a few hours ago and its not stock. Is that a normal behavior?
My previous HOX did something very similar.
thx, nearly
Check for the brightness settings in the video player, it's on auto brightness, turn it off.

[Q] brightness problem?

So I downloaded a screen filter app of Google play and I've noticed that when I switch to full screen in the YouTube app and the play/pause button disappears the screen turns washed out. I don't remember it being like that before I got the app so I uninstalled it and that didn't work so I reset my phone but that still didn't work. It also happens watching videos off the internet in the stock video player. Is there a way to fix this or has it always been like that?

How to disable face-down auto screen lock?

Z2 stock, unrooted. When you place the phone face-down on a flat surface, the screen locks after 5 seconds. Is there any way to disable this behaviour?
This is a problem if I'm listening to podcasts in bed at night. I put the phone face down so the screen light doesn't bother my partner, and the audio playback stops because the screen has locked. Intensely annoying and renders the phone unusable at night.

Hi. Lay something over the Display and not the Display face down. The video stops because of the "position sensor" (don't know if this is the correct english word, in german it is called "Lagesensor"). So face down stops it. But face up and put something on the Display don't stop the video.
May be this is a little helpful.
