You can use SRSRoot to do it via your pc, according to an announcement on twitter your phone is supported. i can't post outside links yet but google "srsroot" to find the homepage for the tool, and "srsroot 5839i" for the twitter announcement.

I cannot get it to work.
http://i.imgur.com/8Wi8zbH.png
There's nothing on my screen, and if i click ok, it just reboots and it fails the root.
Make sure you have the drivers for your phone installed i guess.
Other than that see if framaroot can do the trick, its a much easier / faster process if it works.
After several tries, i just can't do it with SRS Root, and framaroot doesn't work on my device. =(. I think i'm just gonna stay like this. The unrooted way. Boooo

Hi
I'm sure you get this a lot, but I really suck at this. Its my third week surfing these forums and I still can't put a step by step guide in my head on how to root it. A lot of the phrases are out of my understanding, so I'm going to ask and hope someone replies
Here's what I got : Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100. Android 4.0.3 , Kernel 3.0.15-I9100XXLPS-CL294511, Build number IML74K.XXLPS
The question is this : Can I root it with 1 click? Truly, without searching for some drivers and stuff I'm not sure I'll find.
Please be aware that I really suck at this, and that I'm basically rooting my phone for Market Enabler and to remove that thing that pops when you double tap center key, the voice command thing, drives me nuts.
Thank you and have a great day!

Use the XX_OXA_LPS CF-Root kernel to root. (find it by doing a "find on page" on the thread) Follow the instructions in post 1.
You will need Kies installed, but not running, for drivers. (or the standalone Samsung USB drivers) Both or either can be found easily with a Google search.
Hey,
Thank you for your quick reply! I do have Kies, as it came on the phones SD card
I will give this a go right now, thank you again for saving me moar weeks of search <3

You know I meant Kies to be installed on your PC, right?
Hey,
Yeah I know. When I purchased the phone I found Kies installation on the SD card, and installed it on the PC. Was the same with Desire HD, I found HTC Sync installation on the SD card. I thought it was normal

That method does not work for newer releases of 2.3.6 or higher. That includes ICS. Which the OP is on. So it would not work for him.

I didn't download it to check, but just watching the video, (at 3:02) the command window that pops up clearly says "Easy rooting toolkit (v2.0) created by DooMLoRD" up at the top, followed by "Modified by Max Lee @ GalaxyS2Root.com". (I believe Max Lee is zedomax, but I don't know for sure)
I don't know what this Max Lee fellow changed, but I'm willing to bet that the actual exploit used to gain root is exactly the same, yes.

Allegedly??? LOLwut?
Read this:
In recent years it has become common for speakers to include allegedly in statements that are controversial or possibly even defamatory. The implication is that, by saying allegedly , the speaker is distancing himself or herself from the controversy and even protecting himself or herself from possible prosecution. However, the effect created may be deliberate. The use of allegedly can be a signal that, although the statement may seem outrageous, it is in fact true. Conversely, it is also possible to use allegedly as an expression of ironic scepticism.

Hi jithendra194,
if you already flashed the clockworkmode this could be the problem!
I know a friend who had to flash stockrecovery again, before rooting his device.
Rooting wasn't possible by using the clockworkmode, but with stock recovery rooting was successfully
So you can try flashing the stock recovery first (from here) and after it you should flash the upd_1.zip (from here)
Good luck
Got a gift of Chinese phone. I failed to install google play on it. Can I root and install customised ROM? Wish I get some answer from nyone.
Just to add details :
Model - Tablet_7_SD_C
OS - 4.0.3
Kernal - 3.0.8
Build - T7.C.01.02.10
There is no seperate forum for your device! Check if any rooting methods and /or custom roms are available in the android development and miscellaneous android development categories! If there ain't anything, you're on your own to find out a rooting method!

Thanks again
Rooting is different for each device! Find out if any dev or senior member who has experience in rooting has your tablet and ask him /her for advice on rooting!

In this case, that is a good thing FYI. Cydia Impactor should be able to get you rooted then. Follow the directions in this post:

It may say this is root method for a different device in that post but Impactor works on alot of phones and I am too lazy to write out directions for you lol (too much turkey last night), it is much easier to just link to that post.

Don't know if you were able to fix your boot loop, try looking for a way to hard rest. As for root, the tablet comes rooted. You have to download 1mobile and install superuser and you have full root. As for getting play store and Google frame work. Go to polaroid site and there will be a download for phoenixsuit that you will have to download and install from a computer. Hope some of this helps

To be honest, I couldn't root my device with those two at all.
Ok then try any other PC methods for rooting like one click root, kingroot PC program etc
I tried those also and it still says that it wasn't rooted. Please help. It's the straight talk version.
I used kingoroot and I only got temp root. Any ideas?
